  • is 43 to old to start

  • @melvin1123 * Started 2.5 yrs ago @ age 52; testing next week for Brown Belt: near best thing I've ever done - never too late: Go For It!

  • @1DRWNYC1 r u ITF tkd if your not don't this because i'm 2 dan in ata taekwondo and a 6dan i ITF

  • 3 moonths to black belt , i think choong moo its very hard :S , 3 months to learn'it

  • @AcDc18571 don't worry Choong moo isn't hard AT ALL. It was surprisingly easy to learn. I learned it when I was a red belt now I'm a 2nd degree black. !3 now, was 6 when I started. Good luck.

  • Black belt test today and tomorrow..

    Ready then ill ever be

  • I'm going for my 1st dan tomorrow in the a.m. I'm the only one testing--first in our new school if get it. Will have a panel of 8 black belts of varying degrees. I have to spar 4 of them and one 3rd dan Kempo guy. I can barely swallow right now!

  • this one looks sooo cool cant wait to learn it ;D

  • Black belt grading next tuesday! Very nervous!

  • Black belt a week tomorrow nervous as hell -_-

  • @dynamicpenguin55 think of it like this, your being black belt tested EVERY day, every time your belt goes on, you train for it, from the time you are not even wearing a white belt to the time you are handed that black belt, you are training for being a BADASS.

  • @RedOps47 I now what you mean, anyway passed!!!!!!!!!!!

  • still red!

  • Yay just passed my 1st Dan grading :)

  • Black Belt Grading on Friday in Bristol infront of 5 masters of 8th Dan - cant wait

  • BLACK BELT GRADING ON SUNDAY ...

    AHHHH !!!

    WISH ME LUCK !! :)

  • @sarahzxx12 You will not need luck if you have trained / practiced enouch, XD but good luck :-)

  • @TychoKai thank you :)

  • @sarahzxx12 how'd the grading go?!

  • Oh my goodness he has so much control over his movements!! Gosh, I find myself off balance, need to work on my stances :l Thanks for the video, beautifully done xD

  • he is the best !!!!

  • thanks

  • i absolutely love his kick control

  • Even if we dont do the sine wave in rhee tkd who cares master rhee and 2 of his brother where all part of the original 12 tkd masters with the general and as hes a 8th dan world master and his brothers are 9th dan grandmaster and a 6th dan they can change anything they want. So who realy cares just learn it how ur school teaches and shut up

  • Going for my black belt in 3 weeks this does really help me!!

  • god this guys good, i can't fault anything he does

  • @EndlessLaughability He is former world Champion!

  • @EndlessLaughability There's always faults

  • i got my black stripe a few weeks ago and now learning choon moo. its a very hard pattern lol but the hardest thing that i have trouble with is the flying side kick at 0:21

  • @TKD0220Nikki don't worry, it always happens that way, but once you get done, you never fails. (sorry for my english, it's not my language)

  • @galocisalpino thanks ive been practising alot more

  • cool, but the back kick has now been changed, its not done like that anymore for itf

  • My instructor says I will hate this pattern. She is right, It looks really hard and at the grading i will mess up the jump.

-From a Red Belt, 2 Black Tags. (2nd Advance lol)

  • @supermarioliam You'll be fine, the hardest part i found with learning this pattern is the jump spin that follows the U shape block - the only thing i can suggest is don't jump too high and get that head around fast! :)

  • @marknormington Thanks for the advice, I hope it works, I learned the move yesterday and it actually hurt, Bending your knees then jumping 360 and landing in L stance is really hard and painful, hope your advice works :)

  • this is the original ITF Choong Moo patern all the others that you are learning are not from the Tae Kwon Do encyclopedia and not made by General Choi !!! This is the original !!! stop changing the original techniques with this Rhee or whatever it is..... you just make it worse " Better to have no skills at all, than learning the wrong ones" this is sayed by the creator of TKD General Choi Hong Hi ... so think about it...

  • i just got my 1st dan one week ago : D

  • @thebigbadwolfwashere lol u wish unless u cheated

  • These vids are so helpful! Can't believe I get to meet Mr Suska soon :D

  • hey there i am going for my brown belt and am learning chil chang........... next for me is pal for red tip but then its choong-moo for red belt then onto koyro for black belt this pattren seems if tho that it is more a 1st dan and up the a coloured belt if i am correct please respond to my comment (btw i am sorry if i misspelled anything) :D

  • @1chloe1sheary , Not sure what TKD you do matey, but I have never heard of them patterns you mentioned, other then the Choong-Moo.

In ITF TKD we have Toi-Gye for red stripe/red tag, Hwa-Rang for red belt, Choong-Moo for Black stripe/black tag, and Kwang-Gae for first dan.

Diffrent schools teach diffrent things, I hope that helps. :)

  • @TychoKai yes it does thank you :D

  • @TychoKai those are wtf patterns

  • @shredder1390 , Thank you for that info ,and I had a feeling it had something to do with that. ^_^

  • @shredder1390 how can it be? it says itf on his trousers lol

  • 14 people who disliked this video are gonna be Choong-mooed to death

  • he makes it look so easy, I hope to one day be able to perform this pattern as well as him :)

  • my pattern :) though, i personally think he looks like he is dancing o.O

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!

  • The following movier are connected movies :

Gonnun so Dwigbumsonkut Najunde tulgi and nuinja so dung joomuk yop dwi taerigi?

  • This is a question...

  • beautiful

  • I'm sorry, but what are those sounds made from? I don't recognize it...

  • @mikeymarshful he's breathing out as he is performing his technique.

  • @alk4tr4z Ah, is that so? I almost mistaken it for something else! XD That's interesting!

  • Cool the moves are SIMILAR to our version of choong moo

  • @SiberianHuskyNinja

    It SHOULD be similar.

  • Awesome form he does it better than me lol

  • Nice form

  • whats with the weird drums in the background? just show the pattern.

  • has anyone seen choong moo by jamie woodland? the 3rd result if you type in choong moo. maaaaaan that guy is ......

  • @scrowisnice

My guess is jamie woodland must do ITF Tag B , or it maybe WTF style .

Also I know what you mean ITF style looks a lot better as performed by Mr Jaroslaw above

  • @TychoKai can i ask what is 'tag b'?

  • @scrowisnice Tag B is a splinter group of ITF TKD that practises original techniques of TKD that for some reason do not accept the updated techniques that general choi implemented into the main stream ITF TKD i,e the sine wave motion , btw this is kind of a short answer to your question best thing is to find some books on this or even try looking on some websits . ^_^

  • @TychoKai oh thanks. i've got my grading on april 17th for my 1st dan.

  • @scrowisnice Nice and good luck to you ^_^ , I my self will be going for my 1st dan some time this year most likely closer to the end of the year when I feel more ready it should be fun XD

  • @TychoKai thanks. oh good luck to you too.

  • Nice!

  • moo

  • @TychoKai

... published in Totally Tae Kwon Do in 2009, unfortunately I can not recall either title or author of it right now.

I will look it up and get a copy of the book mentioned and maybe I'll get to a different result as I did until now.

I have to say that this issue does of course in no way have any influence on both General Choi's legacy and Instructor Suska's performance or my personal view on the art of TKD.

    Thanks for your input.

  • @TychKai

'I know you did intent to make this an argument'

I have to say that I do not fully get what you are trying to tell me. I don't see a point in an argument, it would be fruitless at best. And i totally agree with you that this is not the place for such matters, even though I doubt that the video poster cares about it.

Of course I have heard and read about 'A killing art', but up to now have only read excerpts, did not get to read the complete work. I was referring to an article ...

  • @TychoKai

I did not intent to start an argument with you or anyone else, and I of course do not insist on being right. But as stated below I thought that there was no independent evidence of the general being nidan, and I would happily be proven wrong. I would really appreciate if you could tell me where you read about it, not because I don't believe you, but simply out of curiosity.

  • @AmyBohemi One of the most interesting books I have read about Tae kown-do is " A Killing Art " as it gos into a fair amount of detail about Choi life and why he whent to japan in the first place , an I believe it was a faily independent research from some one who had traind in the Art . I would recommend looking this book up ,

I know you did intent to make this an argument as its is not one at the moment as youtube not the place to do so an it would be disrespectful of the video poster .

  • @ Tychokai

There is in fact no proof that General Choi did hold a degree higher than first Dan in Shotokan. He claimed to be be a second Dan, but the only other notes for this are found within the archives of the ROK Army which probably did get their infomation from nobody else than the general. At least that's what I know.

  • @AmyBohemi I am not going to turn this into an argument as I see no point doing so , but from all books I have read an all the research of poking around I have done seems to strongly suggest that he did hold a second degree in Shotokan karate .

But what you say is true then there is some thing realy wrong going on :P

  • take this guy sister out on a date...he sayes lets hanout some time IT'S A TRAP!

  • I am a black belt now, and these videos are excelent to show me how I need to practice more and more time. This guy is pretty good!

  • Excellent video! i like it maybe i can learn choong moo from this video i'm blue belt well yesterday i did my test for red tag but it is better learning other advanced forms before take the test and this is my sister's username i don't have one so i'm a man thanks for you're attention XD

  • @thecj29 wrong General Choi became a second dan in Shotokan karate witch was a high dagree at the time , an he didnt just study a little Tae Kyon , I believe you should go an read the facts befor saying any thing more .

  • General Choi studied Shotokan in which he had a 1st dan. He studied a little Tae Kyon. Tae Kwon Do is incomplete.

  • i bet he was tired as shit after doing all of these forms. he looks like he's about ready to pass out at the end. thank god they saved the hardest for last hahaha. suska is the shit no doubt about it.

  • jaroslaw suska winer

  • excellent demo, student like me to learn from many thanks to the Sabum

  • Agree with the comments that there is way too much bobbing and sloppiness between moves, and shaking on completion of each move. Very ineffificent and inelegant - all that unnecessary motion between moves causes the practitioner to lose power and telegraph the next move. Transitions should be smooth as silk and finishes should be as powerful as a sledgehammer.

  • @mightybarrister Telegraphing isn't an issue while you're doing forms, since there is no opponent. I'm going to assume you mean this regarding actual combat. As far as forms are concerned, this is near flawless. He has won more forms world championships than any other competitor, and for good reason. You come off like a student of a different style, so I presume you simply don't know.

  • @xyzephan Your assertion that "forms have no opponent" shows how little you know about the art. Forms are designed to train proper moves, and should be sharp and powerful, with no wasted or sloppy movements. I've been doing this for more than 30 years (retired from competition now), and I've won my fair share of championships in forms. This form would not have placed in the tournaments where I competed. I know what I'm talking about.

  • @mightybarrister Agree to disagree. Your post smacks of bitterness and it seems you've forgotten your tenants. "Courtesy". I don't know what you know, and from your suggestion that telegraphing is important in forms it simply seemed like you didn't study TKD. I meant no disrespect by it, though it seems you're more concerned with spreading negativity that a love of the art.

As I said, Mr. Suska has placed in his fair share of forms world championships.

  • @xyzephan Oh, and this was my go-to form for competition.

  • @mightybarrister got any vids? I'm always keen to see forms done to a standard of excellence.

  • notice how they only take pictures when he kicks or jumps

  • I have a tournament tomorrow...Have to do this form...I just hope I remeber to hyung.

-Pray , God willing, I will come in first place =)

  • @tkd4life2400 How did you get on? Son has just won gold for this pattern at the Scottish championship

  • @Cheezsoup I did pretty good actually! I needed to slow down some but I did well.

  • To much bobbing imo.

  • @ParagonalForce Its that whole ITF Sine Wave effect.

  • I'm getting my black belt pretty soon and this video helped me a lot. Thanks!

    ^_^

  • I graded for my black belt today in Bristol and I keep on coming back to this video thinking and thinking and thinking about my grading! :S

  • Surely there is supposed to be a low section kick then a high section, not two high sections? :3 But it's really good.

  • @ilmy7wefa he is fith Dan i think he knows a little bit more than you

  • @middleschoollife1467 Dude, this is a Rhee Taekwondo pattern, Master Chong Chul Rhee wrote the exact steps of each pattern and we (1st Dan black belts) have a copy, and it clearly states "low section, then high section". So, an 8th Dan knows a little bit more than him, actually.

  • @ilmy7wefa Hmmm kinda... this guy is ITF; Rhee (unless I am mistaken) is no longer a member of the ITF. Sure this pattern may well be Rhee, but I have seen quite a few styles ALSO using a very similar pattern - so it's not Rhee unique perhaps...

  • @alwaystherogue ha yeah, i have no idea, but if this is rhee then i do know exactly what i am talking about, that guy/girl just made me sound like a bit of an idiot, so i thought i needed something good to say. And you're right, Rhee is no longer I.T.F, we are R.I.T.A, (Rhee international taekwondo) :)

  • @ilmy7wefa fair comment :) This is the pattern for my next grading in a month is all, hence why I am interested in it...

  • @alwaystherogue I do Rhee Tae Kwon Do, and I'm currently learning Choong Moo, the moves and order are similar, but the style and way they are performed is very different. Different Tae Kwon Do's will have different ways and styles of movement. You are correct, Rhee is not part of the ITF.

  • @alwaystherogue definitely not Rhee unique; just keep in mind, the original patterns came from Gen Choi; I've had a look at Rhee tkd before; the main difference is the lack of 'sine' wave; ITF emphasises sine to maximise power in the techniques; also it's important that every move in a pattern is capable of destroying an opponent. That's why it looks similar, but actually different.

  • WOW great control. It's a little different than the way we do it but, awesome. Thanks for the refreasher.

  • I know up to 0:44, and im gonna be testing

  • I keep on forgetting the last part of the pattern :(

  • Comment removed

  • I love the form but hate that Jumo 360.....I land on my ankle everytime...but Ive only been a red belt for 2 weeks so I'll get it soon with practice : )

  • Taker7United @ maybe hes confusing Won-Hyo with Joong-gun for some reason or another XD but there are only two middle side kicks in Won-Hyo on the 8th an 26 move ,

Good luck in your black belt grading I hear its a nice 4 hours long , I got mine next year.

  • Thank you very much!!!!! :D

  • i have just took my black belt it was scary...

  • LOL! Where did you go? I don't like Mr. Sergiew's face... If you have no idea what I am talking about then you don't go near me! I am going for my black belt this October :S!!!!

  • can u post the back side de part?i still not memorise the pattern..please..urgent

  • hi there, i'm about to sit for my 1st dan and i find these postings very helpfull and i would like to thank Mr Suska. I think that everyone should appreciate the time and effort as he is helping a lot of people around the world. Thanks so much for your help. Regards

  • Chon Ji is saju.

Dan gun starts with walking to the side and do 2 or more moves then upward, to the right, left and down again.

Won Hyo - starts with kicks.

    Choong Mo - some acrobatics.

Correct me if i'm wrong please :)

  • @LOidos2000 dang dude do some mma seriously

  • @LOidos2000

    Do-San stars with kicks (up-chagui)

Combinations begins in Dan-Gun, only one technique combined.(Low-defense-high-Defense)

Choong Moo its a beautiful Form, but if you want acrobatics you should see JUCHE

  • Won Hyo doesn't start with kicks!

  • god, this guy can generate some serious power.. i can't wait to learn this form for my next testing... that spinning-side kick is definitely the shit.

  • @cobiachi5thkupp Flying side kick in this one, there was actually no spinning, learning this one myself and there are a couple move differences.

  • @redsoxfinatic77 what was that at the 34 second mark?

  • I'm a black belt, and I have testing tommorrow and I couldn't understand the review sheet, so I decided to see it. Fingers crossed!

  • This is really rigid and bouncy compared to what I've learned.

  • isn't it weird how some TKD schools teach you to bounce and generate power like a baseball pitcher, while other schools teach you to stay level and smooth.

  • Excellant Form !

  • Our system is slightly different, but I do agree.

  • This guy's balance is great. Gives me goosebumps just watching him do those moves perfectly.

  • Very confusing pattern!

  • You shouldn't be a 2nd Dan if you don't know that stuff... I am working on this pattern right now... I will be pretesting for my 1st Dan in a week... I need to remember all of my techniques from green belt up and all of the patterns...

  • @Sportslova7 the ones before green belt should be fairly important too lol :P

  • wow i would have bet that you have recited my trainer :D and i really have to say: this is true !

  • ching chong!

  • sacate el reloj...

  • Second turning kick is middle, not high.

Last 2 side kicks are middle, not high. The punch with the kicks are high since they are parallel to the leg.

  • Comment removed

  • Went for my Black Tag grading December 13th and I passes this pattern is quite confusing...

  • I'm going for my 2nd dan in may, but what i do find difficult is remembering when a normal guarding block is used instead of a knife hand guarding block in most of the higher graded patterns.. such as choong moo

  • yeah same, im going for my 2nd in march.

  • i´m trying to learn this pattern atm the problem is that i can´t see what he´s doing with his hand when he is moving in the other direction... i have to look up in my tkd book ;)

  • after that i want to enter taekwondo club in kuwait i really loved this game

  • ajaja la musica que le ponen

    ajja

  • 5***** exellent!!!

  • Exellent great pattern.

  • I'm going for black belt tomorrow, this really helps.

  • your going for your blackbelt test tomorrow and you need help from youtube to remember your highest pattern?

  • I don't need help remembering it, I just wanted to see how an ITF instructor does it.

    I passed!

  • Good job man!

  • Thanks!

  • @FormerlyMrBean667 what belt are you? XD

  • @FormerlyMrBean667 Unfortunately, passing and knowing are not the same in modern TKD

  • Good luck! I am going for III degrees the 12 of dec.

  • mooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very very sharp and pro! Very nicely done, 5 stars

  • haha yeh.. muay thai dont have belts :S ?

  • Great Execution Sir!

  • only color form i have not learned yet,

I have second don black in jiu jitsu

    Black in hapkido

    and black in muay thai,

even though i have been doing taekwondo the longest i have no tkd black belt yet, hopefully by december!

  • Where do you take muay thai and the gave you a black belt? Thai fighters don't have any belt system.

  • its incorporated in my form of jiu jitsu, in order to rank up in jiu jitsu i have to know a certain amount of thai strikes for it, i know its surprising, everybody thinks brazilians are nothing but a bunch of jiu jitsu snobs but recently i have noticed some very notable jj fighters branching out, muay thai and tae kwon do are becoming exceedingly popular in brazil (well, at least in rio)

  • Ok, I understand. You school basically giving you a striking art as well as a grappling art to make you a better martial art. Kool.

  • thats funny, i ddnt think muay thai had a belt ranking system...

  • its incorporated into my jiu jitsu training, in order to advance a jjj belt i have to learn the respectivly dificulty muay thai moves. Its my instructors way of giving us more potent striking abilities with our grapppling

  • H3Vtux, that is really fantastic. I applaude your many accomplishments. Me, I mastered Glock 21 in 45 acp.Get one today.

  • I have begun training in the ancient ar of Beretta 92FS the style of 9mm full metal jacket, although i could go for a glock ;)

  • @H3Vtux at our tkd place this ish a brown belt form or pattern xD

  • 0_0 i'm watching this cuz next sunday is my black belt test i'm 11years old the 7 years of trainin is gonna payoff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol im testing for black tab :P
