Besides GE has just released what they call ThermoPleat™Pleated Filter Element (PFE) which can effectively filter 98% of mercury emissions from coal power plants and can be installed in all exisiting power plants for fraction of the cost. Seems to me that regulations can be responsible for innovation.

Countries with governments that promote business will win out over countries that think they can sponge off business. Second, there are winners and losers within each country. We must address the losers.
Obama got EVERYTHING he wanted in his first two years and produced no results. Reagan, on the other hand, had to deal with a Democratically controlled Congress in both houses and had to compromise. He inherited higher unemployment, interest and inflation rates than Obama. The economy had sucked for 10 years, not just one. The economy was in full recovery by 1983.

Obama isn't all about making promises. It is only when he tries to fulfill these promises that the republicans are all about blocking progresses. Republicans opposed taxes. Obama is for taxes. People should always believe what Obama wants to do with the economy, but the republicans are always vetoing bills and stuffs like that.

At the end of Reagan's first term unemployment was just below where he came in at steadily on a downward trend. Yes Obama faced a poor economy but he’s only made it worse. Need we rehash his promises on the stimulus bill and unemployment will not go over 8%? Only pint is Obama is a failure.

Besides GE has just released what they call ThermoPleat™Pleated Filter Element (PFE) which can effectively filter 98% of mercury emissions from coal power plants and can be installed in all exisiting power plants for fraction of the cost. Seems to me that regulations can be responsible for innovation.

Obama got EVERYTHING he wanted in his first two years and produced no results. Reagan, on the other hand, had to deal with a Democratically controlled Congress in both houses and had to compromise. He inherited higher unemployment, interest and inflation rates than Obama. The economy had sucked for 10 years, not just one. The economy was in full recovery by 1983.
You cannot be pro-government/union and anti-business and create jobs. REAL jobs mean wealth creation.

It's too bad Obama promised that his "stimulus" bill would prevent both the sky from falling and unemployment rising above 8%. So here we are 3 years later with 9.1% unemployment and every other economic growth indicator either below water or crawling. Good luck running on that economic record by telling us now "it could have been worse" when he's on record saying the opposite! The man's a disaster!

@DEM2600 Why do you "hate" the way he handled the Libya situation? He worked with NATO to enforce a UN resolution and to remove a dictator who was in the process of killing his own people. He did not send in ground troops or put Americans in harm's way, but what we did was essential to overthrowing Gaddafi. It was all very much like what Clinton did in Bosnia -- and like that a very successful operation.
