  • @gearykid yes it is a clone,but it will do the job.stevosid

  • i just gone one. how long is your record time? i just gone mine and tested it. it was 11 min about on a drive then turned off autmaticly. but i'm not sure where it is supposed to cut at. i think 11 min of constant is short.

  • @showmethedammovie There has to be something wrong there.Should record more than that.Stevosid

  • Hello from the UK, I own one of them spycams, and the way you attach it to the helmet is really cool! Will def be copying your example of attachment once I pass my CBT, with luck, with visor down the wind noise won't be that much and it should pick up me speaking as well. Thanks for the video and information, now away to get the name of the decent velcro :) Ride Safe !

  • @AbzWayne ---good luck with your test, and have many ,many ,years of motor cycle fun. Thanks for the comment, stevosid

  • YOur dog looks like my dog.

  • hi i was wondering how you dont have a time and date stamp in the bottom right corner of your vids, every other md80 ive seen has this annoying stamp, were you able to take it off or did your cam come without that feature? thanks alot

  • what is the loud noise :0?

  • @scooterkillz hi the noise you can here is wind noise.Remember this video was made 2 yrs ago.The ones that are sold on ebay now have much better mic.And you can buy them for only $20.And the screen size is 750 p.Hope this imfo helps.thanks for the comment.stevosid

  • Great video, but because i'm on a sportsbike my head and body angle is slightly forward, so it points to the floor :/

  • @DanBarns92 I would say cut 2 small squares of the opposite sides of velcro and stick them together to make a spacer and place that near the top of the camera just under the lense to change the angle. And that way it will still stick to!

  • @Metalicspark That's a really good idea :o I shall try it very soon, thanks :-)

  • @DanBarns92 hi--then you will need to change the bracket angle to suit your riding position.thanks for the comment ,stevosid

  • 4:31 running out of fuel

  • Haha Canberra rider... nice... this camera isnt too bad for the price... my only problem would be the sound quality... video is good but for the price you really cant complain.

  • Hey Stevo well done!

I thought you might be interested in my modification to the helmet cam.

It improves the stability of the MD-80 type cams and gives them a more GoPro quality. "GoPro Alternative" Enjoy! LT

  • @DrummingMonkey13 Hi--thanks for the comment,and hope it all goes well---stevosid

  • but its ntsc

  • Comment removed

  • @obieezx11 what is it called?

  • @nathantnnguyen1 they dont realy have a brand name just type in ebay mini helmet cam it willcome up you can also get thease cams that this guys talking about for about 13 bucks he payed 60 and got ripped thing i dont like about these is the battry only lasts 2 hours what if your out in the middle of no were and dont have a power point you can use it any more the others have batterys you can change when they are flat.

  • @obieezx11 I hope you realize this video was uploaded 2 years ago, that's an eternity for technology.

    ......

@stevosid Nice review and some cool ideas specially that base you used for holding it inside the helmet was so simple and effective, great job man.

  • @tofer1zel yes i know and they were 13 back then as well i hope you realise the undergrouds technoligy in area 51 is 47.5 years a head of us thats your homeland security

  • @obieezx11 hi,you know i paid $60 2 years ago. They are real cheap now,and the sound and video quality has improved out of sight. For $13 ,you could buy 2.That would give you 4 hours.Or ,if you are in a car, just charge it trough the cigar lighter.thanks for the comment ---stevosid

  • how much did you pay for your off road helmet???

  • Thanks for the idea.

  • what is your website i want to order one ? asap

  • thanks for your comment.stevosid

  • definitely the safest setup ive seen this far. A lot of the camera setups seem to obscure field of vision which worries me. Planning on picking up the new model you mentioned since you suggested it has better audio recording. Also in the even of a crash it seems this setup would be the most likely to stay in place (solid looking velcro, and the camera weighs less so less inertia to rip it free or smash on the road). Thank you for the video stevo.

  • look like a pain to mount to goggles

  • @herionbob666 With a bit of thought, there could be a way to make it fit. Thanks for your comment.stevosid

  • thanks for the review, I'm gonna get one of these for about 18 Euros shipping included on ebay ;)

  • does the camera lens fog up?

  • @5poon367 not that i am aware,thanks for the comment,stevosid

  • Superb idea.

Camera quality aint too bad too!

    Camera lens won't fog up?

Is there a light that tells you it's recording?

    Replacable batteries?

    Lots of wind noise though.

    Great budget idea.

  • @Nexgcs The md80 i used in the vid is the old model. The new model is 720p,and the sound is a great improvement. It captures for voice inside the helmet well. No,no replacement battery.Yes there is a light to tell when recording. You can buy the 702p md80 for about $20 on ebay.Check it out ,you wont be disappointed.thanks for the comment stevosid

  • Hi Stevosid, I did not mean to offend about the camera is bad in low light , as u said it must be to dark to film for what I am doing apart from that the camera is good .

  • @andrewwright99999 No worries man,you didn't offend me.Im glad you like the camera.thanka again for the comment.stevosid

  • well for high quality, maybe custom fit the hd flip camera?

  • @ColDwight hi---yeah sure,but flip camera doesn't cost $20.thanks for the comment.stevosid

  • Loved the vid! Is there a way to record a better sound? Cause you couldn't hear anything but wind in your driving test

  • I have fitted like that but in low light its bad , have u fitted it on the outside to see if there are any difference ????

  • @andrewwright99999 hi,you know you are the first comment i have had, to say it is bad in low light.

  • This is brilliant! The video is surprisingly good, and I noticed you ride one of the best motorcycles ever built, a KLR650. Smart man! Cool dog, too! I use 3M dual lock to secure my much heavier helmet cam to my helmet. The stuff is incredible. It withstands 60mph in 30mph winds, crazy bumpy roads, etc. Awesome vid!

  • Yeah...i got this one for below $12 usd w/o sd card

  • I got mine yesterday but got a problem figuring out when the battery is fully charged, do you have any idea? It doesn't say anything in the manual and frankly its a shit manual as not much is correct with the lights and also the one who wrote it ain't very good at English so makes it extra hard to read. Great video it made me wanting to buy it and try out!

  • hey really like the ideas would your please be able to tell me what plastic you used thanks

  • thanks a zillion for this man!! for that price i can have it rigth now instead of saving for a more expensive one THX

  • if you live near winners, or know where one of those stores is, you can buy a small cam for around 20-10 $....

  • Great tutorial. I also manage to build a helmet camera out of my smartphone on a half face helmet.

I only build a simple acrylic mount for the phone and attached it on the front of the helmet. I tried to attach a trial video , but it just won't attached.

  • @hibabalula---hi Glad you enjoyed it,and thanks for makin time for a comment.stevosid

  • @stevosid what helmet was the offroad one?

  • @stevosid hey,how did u remove date & time on video?and do you have same problem, even if i ride 190+kmh on video looks like im going 80kmh...what should i do ? Cheers my friend

  • Thank you my Aussie friend. I will try it out on the roads of Sydney:)

  • @DeeComrade,hi thanks for the comment.stevosid

  • @stevosid Mate, i got my cam. The thing is when i was buying it it said it was 25 fps 640x480 or whatever. But on the box it says 720x480 30 fps. Sounds good to me, but i wonder what do you think:) i paid $20

  • @DeeComrade hi,the 640x,is the old one that i show in my vid.The 720x,is much better.And a great improvement in sound.All the best stevosid

  • @wiixboxpc hi ---good luck.stevosid

  • I've mounted mine on the lower end of my front fork. I did have it mounted in my helmet but after a few minutes along comes some huge bug ruining the clip, and the cam is also more stable there.

  • @Drinkyoghurt hi thanks for the comment ,stevosid

  • yeah but you gotta ride with you visor up and that kinda sucks

  • ye for the price its a surprisingly good camera, as long as its a 'bright' day!

  • @crazyliam08 HI,There are heps of seller out there on ebay, selling real cheap.Cant recommend a seller.Make sure he has a good review, and people that have dealed with him are happy. When you buy from ebay search for this model----DVR Spy mini DV Cam Camcorder Video Webcam D001 .I have read that the D001seams to work well.Cant garantee any thing, but the little camera is fantastic value. Thanks for the comment --stevosid

  • how long do you charge it please? doing my head in, not finding out elsewhere.

plus did you get any screws with the brackets? im a bit peeved about that really!

    cheers for any help

    al

  • @AVV0L You wouldnt of gotten any screws with the brackets because you can mount it on almost anything, so if they supplied screws it would be a waste. As different things require different screws and different lengths.

  • great video thanks! check out my home page video video on how I set up the MD80 as a bicycle camera!

  • @harrymedan HI,They are a great camera ,you can mount them just about anywhere, and the quality is great.Nice vid.thanks for the comment stevosid.

  • Greetings from the US. I almost purchase this cam, but decided to buy a Chinese version of the Stealth at 720p for $145. Video on mine is very good. Audio is not good, but it appears most of the POV cams do not record good audio. My camera is water proof down to 10 meters. I won't be doing any diving with it, but at least when riding, I do not have to worry about the rain, etc. I love your Aussie accent.. I enjoy your videos too..

    Good luck...

  • See Zetta Z11 also, good and long lasting: 8 hours battery. Charge and record at the same time. Search "Zetta Z11" in youtube.

  • Thankyou. Seeing these £15 on ebay and wanted to know if is worth getting. Number of close calls and had a bump where was other guys fault and took a year to win the claim... a video might have helped and also re-assures me if they drive off I might still catch their number plate.

  • @leedsm18 hi,i dont think you will be disapointed.thanks for the comment stevosid

  • Wow! I'm amazed with the quality of the vid! especially with current price at around $20!!

  • Very good tips another idea instead of elastic bands if you have an old bike wheel tube cut it across into rubber bands this will match the colour of the camera and blend in with it also these will be a lot stonger you can make these any size you like i use them for bushcraft so many use's so dont throw out your old tubes.

  • hi i just wanted to know where did you get that heavy duty velcro

  • Thanks stevosid i made my mount today :) got my camera for 86p and a strip of velcro for £3 thanks for the amazing mount

  • @Althegreat64 glad you liked it ,thanks for the comment ,stevosid

  • @tpratt52 Hi,just had a look at your videos, great stuff ,very enjoyable to what.Great job of building them. Thanks for the comment, stevosid

  • i just bought one of these and have fixed it to my helmet very simular to your way :) only trouble is the mic wont pick up my voice as i am talking. is this just the camera or is their something i can do? ive tried foam covering, windscreen style covering over the mic and tried talking softly

  • @dimebag579 Hi ,if you have bought the same md80 i use in the video,Then it wont be able to record good quality voice. If you want to record voice ,you need to buy the replica of my md80. Yes you can vlogg, but not with the md 80 i have. You need to buy md 80 doo1.The sound is great, and the video is 720.If you search utube----vlogging md 80 doo1--there are some good video of vlogging with md 80 d001.And you can buy them for under $20Thanks for the comment ,stevosid

  • can anyone help me PLEASE.

The problem looks like this---> I turn the camera on, and in few seconds it turns itself off. I can NOT film anything. It works ok as a web cam. Does anyone know what may be the cause of this problem.

    Thanx

  • @Cofipustinja hi,Its hard to say whats wrong with it,but i know this is the ovious---The battery is fully charged. is it.What you dicribed will happen when its flat.Hope you get it working again. Thanks for the comment.stevosid

  • @stevosid hey man thx for the reply, I've fixed it. The problem was the stupidest eveeer :D I've just changed a charging cable, because the original one is a total crap... now it works pretty good...
