That drum solo in the song is very hard to execute-I mean its like the sticking changes every time in the song! (so it seems). But a decent attempt nonetheless.
the vibe 1 performer needs to remember that he needs to alternate sticking, even on the easy parts. from a performer perspective, it just looks tacky because your other arm is just there.

Respect? And you tell me to die? The pitches are off in certain spots, as well as the rhythm. I acknowledge the fact that they tried, but seeing that its all percussive instruments, it just doesnt hold the same feel as the original.
I don't think that the first half requires one, but Changeling goes between 7/4, and some other odd time signatures here and there. For a high school group, I'm sure the conductor was useful to keep them all reigned in.
I agree with you, CovertCops, the drummer needs work. But I'm a drummer myself and I've recreated some of Shadow's stuff. Some of the drum patterns in both Building Steam...and Changeling are difficult to pull off. It's much easier to do it on the MPC like Shadow did.
actually his new album is quite different than the previous CLASSICS he mixed... u should listen to his new stuff on his myspace.. ldkfjalsdkf im not very impressed at ALL

i'd say if they practiced a little more they would have gotten it right. it's not bad. but it's very off-tempo at times.
Now for somebody who does percussion being off beat isn't really a good thing.
it's mostly the guy on the drums who fucks up. the rest do a great job.

This is true. What can be done electronically is not necessarily easily replicated via a real drumset.
