When we had the Key Arena, Mercer Arena and Kingdome, more events went to the Mercer Arena and Kingdome because they had a lot of event space.

I would of liked to of seen the dome remodled. It just isnt the same not having it as a part of Seattle's skyline.And I am sure it cost more to destroy it, clean up, and build a new stadium...No favors to the tax payers....Just sayin

this was so cool. i remember all the families i knew were going to downtown office buildings that days. it was like a big party at my dads building. i wish i would have actually watched it exploding, i was like 5 and i think i was playing hide and go seek or something

Yeah... cities have a way of doing that. They do it a lot just because they feel they need more space. In this case the stadium was built cheaply and was falling apart quite literally. The ceiling started falling in. This building wasn't exactly useful anymore.
