How to fix Zune lock/unlock button

I got a bigger problem. The red indicator to show that is locked is gone, I popped the switch back in but the switch doenst work anymore, should I send for a repair? buy a new switch?

Not going to lie, I was a little skeptical but I tried it and it worked perfectly! I was getting so annoyed that the switch wouldn't work so I'm really happy that it's not a problem anymore. Thanks!

@numa7890 Yea keeps on getting 'dislodged' even after putting it back...I think the whole switch is sunken down farther than it should and the prongs on the slider arent holding it enough.

very cool i used your fix and even though the plastic piece was a bit broken it now is able to lock and unlock properly, which is great since my zune is freaking out a bit and sometimes decides it wants to skip tracks and go apeshit. but zune is great piece of tech and won't break after horrible abuse, dropping it hundreds of times in the gym, banging with with 100 pound dumbells, falling on tile floor, water exposure.

it didnt work. i took off the switch and dont see the toggle switch inside. can u give me a better picture of the inside or explain were it post to be. it seems u helped everyone else really well so please help me too i love my zune 120 and it locked.

@carsick787 To put it in better words. you have the plastic slider on the outside of your zune as shown in the vid. that slider moves a switch in the zune back and worth (unlock to lock)

the switch should be parallel to the zune. if you dont see the swich it must have fallen inside the zune. your only choices are to open your zune (not recomended) and put it back where it is suppose to be. or you can reset your zune and try not to use your lock button.

Thanks man! I was freaking out glad I saw this vid I fixed mine's in abt 5 min, my lock wasn't off track, one of the slide's pegs was broken & it wasn't switching the lock, so I just flipped the side around & popped it back on & voila good to go. Thanks again!

@anapaocab usually the little switch in there that u saw can go sideways or dislodged. try to move it back into postition and put the slider back on it it takes a few tries did it to my zune and it worked ;)

@MICMS the lock button is fine on meh zune, but the cover just slides back and forth, any idea how to fix it?

@lukecoursey1 under the cover. there is a little switch that actually locks and unlocks your zune. the cover just makes it more accesible. the switch is eaither disloged as discribed in the video, disloged and has gone into the case wich will require you to open your case, or it is a electrical problem and i cant help with faulty wiring srry.

Zunes have incredible intuitive controls and software. I happen to own both an zune and ipod . I can't stand itunes , it's terrible .
