Do you have ANY idea how hard that shot is to make? Easily the toughest shot in basketball. Dirk Nowitzki did something similar in Game 5 of the 2011 NBA Finals when he hit that rainbow 3, but it is a RIDICULOUSLY difficult shot.

@sumskater999 It's ridiculously difficult, yeah, but what Dirk done was good shooting technique. It's simple geometry; the hoop is a horizontal target, therefore you want to get the ball going down as vertical as possible. If you throw a horizontal shot at a horizontal hoop, it'll just bounce off the rim. With a high-arc shot, even if it grazes the hoop on the way in, it won't significantly affect the direction of the ball.

If you shoot flat, your shot may not go in but it'll be much easier to get the ball closer to the rim from long range. To be a good consistent shooter, you have to have a good balance between arc and aim.

@bundeligafan I think if you can lead your team to the NBA Finals how he did, you're a legend. Not everyone can win a ring because there are some dominant dynasties around every few years. Iverson lost out because of the Phil Jackson/Shaq/Kobe Lakers, Stockton/Malone, Barkley, Payton couldn't get it done against the Pippen/Jordan Bulls, Patrick Ewing couldn't make it happen against the Duncan/Robinson Spurs. I can't really think of many legends who haven't made it to the Finals at least once.
