I didn't play the previous versions of the game, because of the old fighting style but this isn't any better(no offence) I'd be easier if the game came with like a computer game controller? And you have to pay every month? I'm not trolling cause I love the game but from all the bad reviews I'm not gonna pay. this game is immensely confusing and there are few pointers on how to continue about....i was lost in opening city for like 45 minutes before i got to kill anything, took me 10 minutes to figure out how to revive when dead, i cant figure out how to chat with anyone, the overall game seems just too hard to learn its not easy at all, and you cant even jump which pisses me off when i'm only on a foot tall cliff i cant even hop down.
@Flankercom It's not designed for casual gamers. It's based very tightly on XI, party mentality and all that. I completely agree with you on the jumping, jesus guys pull it together. haha I despise those foot tall cliffs.

Whoa whoa! To the retards that say combat is going to be slow: The gameplay footage is at the beginning of the game. Of course the combat system is going to be slow. Probably started within a hour. As you progress in the game and get more skills and weapons and what not then it will increase. You ever play FFXI? Try looking up videos of "Hundred Fists + Kraken club"
Final Fantasy has a huge tradeskill system.... that is what 2 of the archtypes are for... Making money... The others are the combat class archtypes, it actually makes a lot of sense, it just isnt dumbed down like all the other mmos out there.
I play wow but seriously all you fucking blizzard fan fags need to go away, and stop bashing anything and everything that doesn't have the blizzard logo on it. I KNOWWWW your world is world of warcraft but that doesn't mean other games and mmorpg's can't exist. I've given just about every major MMO a chance(ie: 6 months), and so far they've all fallen flat. After playing the beta, I see FF14 doing the same :(

wow you only have 2 CS's a expansion, dk & worgen start , a few words a raid or instance the rest is text from quest no one reads, most the story comes from older warcraft games people remember not whats in the game.
ffxiv every few levels you get a main story line CS, from lv20 each class has a story and thats from a empty game still waiting for content.

@XPrespawn It will not come to the 360, because Sqeenix and Microsoft couldnt come to an agreement. See, microsoft demanded that players had gold membership and they also wanted part of the monthly profits from FF14 and Sqeenix was like hell no! and I dont blame them. Also, Microsoft said something about wanting their own xbox exclusive type deal somewhere in the game. On the ps3, it wont be required to have 2 different monthly payments.

this isnt even beta gameplay. IF you werent in such a rush to put this game down, you'd check out player-made videos from the beta, and you'd see the gameplay is completely revamped.

These gameplay vids are so boring looking...they aren't doing anything...just pathetic. Japanese/Koreans aren't very good at MMO's...sorry but its true FFXI Failed and Aion Failed...so yeah, asians can't make MMO"s...I have very very low expectations for this game.

@asandman94 Ive played Aion..its really good-supposed to be a WoW-Killer, I think it is, but but after lv 50 it dies and there is NOTHING to do but chill.....Unless they update it or have add-ons...

Whoa whoa! To the retards that say combat is going to be slow: The gameplay footage is at the beginning of the game. Of course the combat system is going to be slow. Probably started within a hour. As you progress in the game and get more skills and weapons and what not then it will increase. You ever play FFXI? Try looking up videos of "Hundred Fists + Kraken club"

Final Fantasy has a huge tradeskill system.... that is what 2 of the archtypes are for... Making money... The others are the combat class archtypes, it actually makes a lot of sense, it just isnt dumbed down like all the other mmos out there.

I KNOWWWW your world is world of warcraft but that doesn't mean other games and mmorpg's can't exist. @richiestares Just because it's not wow doesn't make it terrible. The fact that FF14 is (atm) a terrible game makes it terrible. Have you played the beta?
Also, yes, I respect Square for FF1-6. After that, when they abandoned role play for angsty teens boys whom dress like they got thrown through a Walmart store, well, that respect kinda died.
I've given just about every major MMO a chance(ie: 6 months), and so far they've all fallen flat. After playing the beta, I see FF14 doing the same :(

wow you only have 2 CS's a expansion, dk & worgen start , a few words a raid or instance the rest is text from quest no one reads, most the story comes from older warcraft games people remember not whats in the game.
ffxiv every few levels you get a main story line CS, from lv20 each class has a story and thats from a empty game still waiting for content.

i know this probobly isnt the best place to leave this but i recently left aion and im wonder what i want to play next im thinking WoW for cataclysm but i got bored of WoW pretty easy when i used to play it (played it 4 different times with 4 different accounts) or lotro but then im also thinking about playing some games that are coming out such as FFXIV or star wars: TOR so i come here, any suggestions should i wait or get into something now

just a quick question... does this game actually have a storyline or is it just basically wander around kill monsters gain EXP GIL and items and make yourself the strongest warrior to man? :) looks cool though the new one looks absolutely brilliant a really beautiful game! but i fear the same problem of it looks like you just walk around making yourself stronger by battling all the time

So far all the comments have been nothing but "I hate you jerk" "No I hate YOU jerk" "no no, you're a jerk!" overall, I liked FFXI for the atmosphere and the peaceful gameplay, I liked wow for it's faster paced fun gameplay, and even though this really is a video of a guy staring at the wall.. or just staring at giant chickens... and does like 2 attacks.. 11 was fun to relax to and hopefully this will be too. Only real irritation I have with it so far is that they got rid of our beloved classes!

@XPrespawn It will not come to the 360, because Sqeenix and Microsoft couldnt come to an agreement. See, microsoft demanded that players had gold membership and they also wanted part of the monthly profits from FF14 and Sqeenix was like hell no! and I dont blame them. Also, Microsoft said something about wanting their own xbox exclusive type deal somewhere in the game. On the ps3, it wont be required to have 2 different monthly payments.
