  • i dont think i look at it as being rewarded for being poor!! i'm poor and i busted my ass to get a white collar job.. i got this job makeing 13.07 and hour ok this is from a person starting out at the bottom at 3.25 hour 20 years ago, i have pride and i dont want to get eic foodstamps welfare my parents lived off that and they died that way, no hope at all!!

  • When is the NEXT update George??? ANXIOUSLY waiting for your video!

  • non incentive to work is definitely part of it. but also, with the deflation we are now having, people don't realize what they can buy is increasing even as their wages nominally decrease. just another reason employers can't afford to hire me.

  • wow, this really helped me understand the system that we currently have. Powerful video.

  • agreed that this is a horrible mess, but some of us don't notice that issue because no matter what income level we were at, we did not accept public assistance of any type.

So in the last 15 yrs, as my husband & I struggled up from the 20,000 income range to the upper middle class range, we did not notice some of this because even at our poorest, we paid our own medical, did not accept free lunch for our kids & did not take food stamps, so we never "lost" anything by increasing our income.

  • Thats they plan they want us all on welfare. Only government officials will still have jobs. POOR PEOPLE VS POLICE, they could probably do whatever.

  • IDIMi, what you just described is Feudalism.

  • Is he actually wanting us to feel sorry for the rich as if the poor are holding them back, holding him back? Do you believe the poor WANT to be poor? Did Mr. Inflation notice when the bankers got bailed out? And who got handed that bill? Anyone, anyone. I see the vile heart of Madoff beating alive and well in many a chest out here.

  • yea I think some people are satisfied with being poor and don't have the will to get out of poverty.

  • If someone robs you would you say, "that robber had the will to get out of poverty", and would you leave it at that? So is that all there is to it? That's your final answer?

  • what are you even saying, please make sense when you write something thx.

  • 1111q2 Madoff had plenty of regulators watching him, doing whatever crooks do...

  • gold /silver investments might just be for the short run. If s*** hits the fan, ur precious metals are only as good as what the buyer is willing to pay for it. The buyer here would be any external entity e.g China, Europe. this is just a thought and i may be wrong

  • charms, gold, silver and copper become currency, simply because the ease of carrying it to market, and the farmers and merchants need a system of exchange other then goods for services. The buyer therefore has some value, he or she needs for other value. Currencies are key for any modern type of economics.

  • @dons123111 ease of carrying 2 the mkt because the barter or buyer wants it for a certain value: we are on the same page. As for ur last sentence, everyone knows that.

I still feel the dollar will eventually collapse though and it's easy 2 see if you pay attention 2 what the power grids are doing. "unity in diversity" get that?

  • charms, the buyer doesn't set the value in it's strictest terms, the demand and supply does. In that sense, the market or community does. Notwithstanding politicians and leaders. They are part of Adam Smiths unseeing hand. Govts can say what it is worth, but only the community does with an untold ever fluctuating consensus from values that are unfixed.

  • @dons123111 : we agree yet again. Mkt and community (buyer) are an integral part of demand & supply. Whereas the buyer commands the demand factor, a strong hand :)

  • charms, but again, commodities like food commands even a stronger hand when they are scarce, because the buyer absolutely needs it, and the seller knows this.

  • @dons123111 : of course food would. But this is gold we are talking.

  • invest in gold in the forex market and make a prophit like i did

  • To my smug arrogant dupes you are getting the gov you voted for and deserve.

  • It is nice to see the graffs of what all of you know has been happening. My fellow americans its going to be a long and bummpy ride to hell.

  • Reagan came into office after Carter destroyed America look up what he did Taxs were at 70% for us working people he fixed the problem then the Bushes came in and the rest is history. A note he had to take bush to have the republican blue bloods to help him we see the results again.

  • The dollar is going down not gold going up.

  • Why all of the negativity on this chat? No one is on firm ground-but a safety play is understandable-especially in a volotile situation right? Not sure why people would disparage that. In any case-this is the news that you will not find reported on the boob tube. It is wise to keep your mind open to all of the news to avoid surprises.

  • i actually watched the whole video and this guy makes some good points. but if the dollar collapsed then all commodity and precious metals would go up simultaneously. when the FED increases interest rates gold prices will go down as the dollar increases in value

  • ronpa, not necessarily. Gold is becoming more scarce, and also it is used in technology. As China and India come into a Middle Class, Gold has value not fixed to currencies. I doubt the fed will raise interest rates anytime soon, because unemployment is still at 10% and no President wants it that high when he runs for his 2nd term. No my friend..The Federal Reserve, unlike the Gold Standard is alllllllll Politics...

  • lol idiot....

    this guy is a retard.....

go to college and take a MACROeconomics class

  • CON MAN

  • at the end of the interactive map timeline, we can clearly see where employment is most promising: conservative, Republican. RIGHT TO WORK states.

  • Very astute analysis and observations. Keep up the good work. I've never seen the poverty problem explained quite like this - very original!

  • Soo...this is probably going to seem like a pretty stupid question, but...if someone wanted to invest in gold, where should they buy it? If someone was looking to sell it for a profit, who would you sell it to? Is there a reputable company to do business with?

  • is george's head getting fatter?

  • Well that's different, Spongebob rocks!

  • dead beats who get free handouts should not have large 2 room apts and cats......

  • lets face it some people are really in need and some are just fucking lazy

  • I Agree Cuz 100%

  • I work my ass off for $41,000 per year. Why? Cuz that's what a man does, not sit at home watching soaps.

  • I'm not watching soaps, I'm watching Spongebob Squarepants.

  • I love how the thing that he fails to point out is that untill you hit an ACTUAL income of 30K, you are actually much better off than you would have been.

Yes there are disincentives to improving your income, but a family living on less htan 30K is DESPERATE, so the way this is experienced is that you get ahead and you fall behind, not "it pays to be poor." Being poor sux. Don't buy the rhetoric!

  • MIKCURIE, Canada has a good pattern to follow, but its still not perfect. Id love to see a full educational opportunity, instead of these schools ripping people off just on tuition alone...not counting books and a place to stay on campus. Its a joke, its always been a joke.

  • A single male with no bills, making less than 11,000 a year gets 35 dollars in food stamps. Where is the incentive? He doesnt get med ical or any other kind of government help. So I want to know where the incentive is? This information is based on a friend of mine who has struggled since he lost his job and had to take something just to get by.

  • your poor are forgotten in the states and you want to give them less.....we dont have as much money up here in Canada but yet ( Health Care,Full educational possibilities,relative security );

  • this video assumes that all those earning lower wages are taking advantage of all those programs. which is not the case. There are many out there not earning 10k a year not taking advantage of any of the programs.

  • poor people have never been awarded in this nation! IM still waiting on my 40 acres and my muel! didnt lincoln promise that to the slaves!

  • No incentive = Communism/Socialism/Marksism = Obama/Pelosi = No Constitution = No America = No American Dreams = No Incentive = Death.....

  • Go live on an ACTUAL income of 15k for a family of 4 and explain to me why no incentive = death, but no food = life.

You're living in a fantacy world. You know nothing about the poor.

  • I make less than 15k but that's why I don't have a family....unlike unprepared parents who mooch off the tax of the American people and would invite communism into their homes. No one told you to go get married and have kids if you couldn't support them in the first place. To Explain what I said is- Socialism is a Dream killer and Obama is responsible for that. In other words why should anyone go start a business if they have to give their profits to a lazy couch potatoe? That is Obama's fantasy

  • Not only is there no incentive to work harder, there's no opportunity. A hundred years ago, millions of immigrants came to America with little or no money, pulled themselves out of poverty and forged this country into a superpower. Today, if you ever find yourself unemployed and destitute with nobody to help, you'll most likely end up in jail. While we were happy with our comfy corp/gov jobs, our elected leaders were busy passing laws to make it impossible for anyone to survive without a job.

  • You missed one point the more recipients of federal hand outs are guaranteed voters !! ( groupies) followers!

  • Right: bread and circuses...

    Usual effect of democracy.

The same reason, the same mechanism - only we don't know much about banking cartel in Roman times ;-)

First really good video from George for long time.

  • Hahahaha at 3:42 "The blacker the county is, the higher the unemployment rate." I don't need a heat map to tell me that!! LOL

  • it`s only made to (eventually) control you.

they build paper traps and folks run in them and roll themselves in them...

but you can't blame folks who want (and are taught) to want more and better for themselves.

what about profiteers? it's a mental war and these pirates are profiteers, but those days will soon be over...

  • you all try too hard to understand stuff that is basically junk science and bad design...

anyway it's gotta go: I am tired of trying to bring attention to apathetic, pusillanimous bitches that I have to live around with. trying to show them what is to be valued..stupid all around, soon it will be too late for them to come back from the braindead...I still try but....

  • has anyone ever stopped to realise why the world hates us????we only have one country in the world which is trully friendly to us?,,,,,Britain,,,,,and guess what????they are the second most hated country in the world!!!!!!!!!!!coincidence ?NO,,,,,,they like to war just as much as us!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We made it the way the people in control are to blame.

  • General question about your "hyperinflation" idea, and that gold will keep rising and such. If gold is rising from inflation and the future, hyperinflation, then why aren't we seeing any inflation in the way it is normally defined? And you are aware this is not the 1st time gold has shot up? In did so in the late 70's, those at least then there was real inflation, and then shot back down the next year. Isn't this more likely a gold bubble like was see with ever value that changes so fast?

  • So, here the problem with this study, it was made to prove a point. The study clams that Medicaid coverage is worth $9,000, I looked for a young health family of 3, for that price I can get a premium health care plan, with no Deductible and $50 Visit, with $800 to spare. If I with a plan closer to what Medicaid gives, it would be about $4k a year.

  • That is a big chunk of the problem. And the is the other problem, we assume that the people who are getting it because they need it. So, we are giving people only what they need to get by. As they need less they get less, should we give people more then they need when the start earning a bit more? If we give them less that might die, and that's not moral. You have point out a problem, that the poorest have a hard time to not be poor, but solving that is the real problem.

  • Also, the numbers that are talked about are EXTREMELY low, $10k a year for a family? If both parents worked full time at minimum wage, ($7.25 x 40hr x 52wk x 2ppl= $30,160). If you take that, and the fact that the Medicaid is being counted as double it's real value, look back at the chart and you can see that whole idea is not really that sensible.

  • If welfare is a problem then look into the projections for how the military's expenses continue to slide towards pensions lol even ron white talked about beach side property hahaha like he said in batman I DON'T WANT to be around these morons 3 days after the power goes out let alone months down the road hahaha good luck sheeple or we can partake in a velvet revolution

  • Good idea man,....

  • The exact same problem in UK.

We have a problem with teenage pregnancies...

But it is not hard to work out why -

Get a baby and get a flat plusfree money for ever...why not?

    Ditto *single*parent families...

So people take advantage- it is natural.

the wishywashy liberals have messed it up.

Here come the hard right! great :0(

  • The UK does have really have this problem. It is much more prevalent in the UK then in the US. What most of the problem is in the US is that the US health the poor with health insurance, and not for the lower middle class (which is still very poor) and the UK does not have that problem. In the UK people can live reasonable well, under educated single parent it can be the best way to live, which is a real problem. Government hand-out should help, but never be the best way to go.

  • The government welfare programs is a double-edge sword, although it benefits *some* poor people, it hurts the middle class (like you said) but it also hurts poor people because they're being taxed on these welfare programs. Combined with the high minimum wage, the federal reserve inflating the money supply, and the weakened dollar, etc, this is what we get high unemployment, and high prices.

  • About the poor or those

Americans who are offically below the US Govt,s proverty line; 1. the benifits spoken here is true. I see this every day when I ride the D.C. Metrobus route called the W-4 where folks constanly wished they never gotten off of welfare becuase the struggles incurred in obtaining medical care, food , rent etc. .

  • Part Two.... If we want health care affordable for all Americans ( I am in favor of this ideal )... then how come I been told by a few people ( these are good people who was willing to share with me there there thoughts and fears about this subject ) , who recive food stamps for groceries, that there lists of approved items does not include health foods such fruits or vegies. anyone doubt what I am saying check your grocery store when its first few days of the month... You be..

  • absolutely shocked when you see the poor, dangerous to your health food that can be found in there carts. If these people get sick .. it be all of us working Americans that would be stuck with there health care bills such emergency room etc. I could be wrong about what I have saying so far but tell what do you think? this should be closely looked at

  • George do you thank silver is a way to go

  • excellent

    full of great infos

  • its rigged

  • Okay my thoughts on this video; I was going to intialy disagree since I belive that no matter what you earn income wise; Its how you budget, save, and invest that determines what a person has lefet over after taxes income wise. Its stuff like don,t spend that what you earn such as buying a tv on long term fianance terms. People I ould be wrong but tell me what you think ???

  • The previous comments I have made is for Zoklor . Zoklor if you see this tell me what do you think ?

  • Can't wait for the Hyperinflation Nation sequel! I've shown it to everyone I can think of. Great stuff, keep it up George!

  • The ONLY reason we have a tax rate system like we do is because it gives politicians something to hold over the peoples head. Tax cuts for the middle class, etc. etc....It is a bargaining tool for votes. A fair tax would allow people to pay all the same percentage, and if you consume more then you pay more. We really need to simply things and get people like Charley rangle out of office!

  • You wouldn,t happen to be talking about what some tax professionals say called a consumption tax ? Great Idea though

  • @albc1964 - Yes, it would be somewhat a consumption tax. The only thing is that there would not be an income tax. There is lots to read about fair tax policies. basically it is a tax on spending by citizens to fund the govt. One of the advantages of it is that politicians would not be able to hold a tax benefit over the heads of voters. It is proportionate to the ability of people and business to spend.

  • @@@ Zoklor. speaking of this subject I got a heavy idea for you. Its seems to me that there also one procedure to do: 1 there are laws that direct the US goverment to prosecute fraud whenever its detected or found out. I can,t even begin to tell how many times my MOM has been bombarded with ads or phone calls for a motorsied wheelchair fre all of it billed to Medicare.>> the tax we all pay for EVERY time we get a pay check. Grrr!!! the waste!!@^*(## !!

  • Why do I see a lot of people post on videos like this, agree with videos like this, and yet still support democratic/progressive agendas. Unless Americans take control and elect small government politicians, nothing will change. I to make about 54k a year, and it is hard being a single parent of one child. I lost more money to taxes when I just went up in annual salary this past year. People need to really fight for a fair tax and repeal the income tax.

  • I AGREE.....problem is though once many politicians get a taste of power...its almost impossible for them get off the I have power over you drug. Its a addiction that must be tackled just like what you stated in your comment

  • European countries have had this system for ages, but it is more simply based on the incremental tax rate. When you get to a certain earning here in Denmark (like the 10-20k example), it doesn't make sense to work any longer. But we tried this system for so long, that almost everyone knows about it and finding solutions to get around it (our national sport is tax evasion, it is always a dinner party subject ;). All this creativity could have been used elsewhere -.-

  • In the Bible sence of the word "Gold" short for the monitary buying fuel America has adobted as the economy for this vato. They'll be throwing it into the streets during the end times. Well georgey. Time is here pally boy.

  • This is not a revelation for most, the system was designed to keep you poor. You dare not get a job because you will loose, medicade or food stamps. Mcdonalds doesn't pay enough to cover health insurance for your children or even to by enough groceries. If the father is in the home you receive much less in assistance, so this is what took the fathers out of many of the low income homes. The system was designed to keep people down.

  • It's exactly the same in the UK. After many years of study and hard work I am 26 and now in a good middle class job and I earn above the national average wage. But after I pay all of my taxes and my utilities/food/transport etc myself (as it should be) I can only afford to rent one room in an "urban" part of the city. There is no way I could buy a house or support a family. Working people have no chance anymore.

  • I am struggling with this very issue....My pride has driven me to go to college and make every effort to get off assistance which I have...I now earn $50,000/year and still find myself falling short before every payday. I increased from $9,000 to $50,000 and the only thing I did was get off assistance....the system is set up for us to fail

  • Good stuff George. I'd have left that first part off and just talked about the study that was done, but it was better than I could have done either way. Good luck with the new project!

  • I doubt you will read this comment, but here goes...

I do agree with you on most points in this video. As a below min wage worker, I know what its like to be in the "poor zone". The EITC I am eligable for, however, I only accept what I pay in of that EITC. If the govt gives me more, it goes into a savings acct. Simple as that. Thats what the EITC was supposed to do, keep money moving in the lower echelons of society. People just got lazy. Don't blame the govt, blame the people abusing it.

  • I read most comments btw..thanks

  • Gotta try to be a Lobbyist for big Corporate welfare. Big Pharma , Bankster , Monsanto Farms etc. Do not worry Obonga will double your $ like his Brother now makes $2.00 a Month instead of $1.00 a Month . He can help you to little Acorn

  • those poor people worked so hard to build a savings account and now SEIU,GM,G.E. Al Gore the FED all want to take it away and buy justice, "GIVE THEM THE WEALTH! GIVE THEM THE WEALTH!"

  • the corrupt politicians are killing the middle class, steal from the hard working and give to the deadbeats and failed speculators.

  • great

  • need link to the unemployment map

  • x2

    me too

  • LOL George put a link on how to eat a woman's p***y in the sidebar . . . . and I thought I was the badmonkey

  • you bet your bottom dollar that I wont be saving any dollars.

  • Another great video...

  • Great video! Thanks George.

  • I'm looking for that unemployment map too. I went to one of the sidebar sites and it goes to porn. WTF?

  • George, I'll bet you get a lot of comments on this video! Keep up the great work for America... you'll be rewarded greatly someday for your efforts.

  • cant wait for the new movie

  • what website is that unemployment map on???

  • I think it was Ben Franklin who said that the best way to keep people down is to get them comfortable in their poverty.

  • ouch!!!!!!!

  • Years ago, my father had some applicants come to his business for work. They did the math, and came to him saying they were sorry, but it was better to not work because the government dole gave them more than he was paying. You're very right, George, but it's not all that new, just much more of it. :-( Good video though. Thanks.

  • George,Ive been watching you for well over a year now and this is THE BEST Video you've ever done! Awesome!

    Keep em coming.

  • Very good and clear vlog :)

  • On the topic of gold-

Of course supply and demand combined with the present pressure and forcast of the European nations declining the dollar are all factors, and probably many more.

Here is the problem. Suppose it rallys to 2000. Hooray, right? Everyone who bought is rich? Right?.....No, it has taken years to propel upto 1000. The pace is quickening, but how fast do you think it will plummet when it's a race to cash in after a new system is secured?

  • @ toddhawley You brought up a very valid point in the potential gold sell off we'll see. Timing is everything. I'll always remeber the story I heard about the Kennedy family patriarch, Joe Kennedy, He was investing during the Roaring 20's but said he sold everything he had leading up to the market crash in '29. He did so because he said his shoe shine boy began asking him for stock tips. The sheeple always come stampeding in at the end and get slaughtered. You're very right. Timing's everything.

  • Wall Mart uses those same graphs to justify their pay wages and earnings. If they pay low then you can still take advantage of gov subsidies and welfare systems.

  • I havn't walked into a Wal Mart since Sam Walton died and the slave masters took it over.

How long has it been? 15-20 years now?

I'm doing my part and they are boycotted.

  • haha, love that last link "men suck at eating pussy not because they dont"

  • the only substitute to gold the u.s dollar hold is the industry. the u.s industry has been moving to socialist and communist countries. The dollar will fail because the u.s does not create anything the world NEED. The only thing this nation has left is its military. Once the u.s military keep sub-contracting work to forigen nation, that forigen military will bring mrarshall law to its soil. Your ass is fri-rice (owne by communist china) support the constitution and restore the republic....NOW!.

  • George:

Have you contracted the H1N1 yet?

  • Gold can easily and I mean super easily go 10,000 per once.

  • i beleive your right

read an article people are buying gold because the us and germany and france are looking into switzerlands books and gold is the new hideing investment, lack of gold mined, gold in comex not there, cnbc the girl looked at the gold price today and said no big deal with inflation gold 2300 would be right to many indicators of gold soareing soon no intrest rate hikes for 2 more years when gold goes to 2000 many will still be in disbelief jim rogers marc farber peter schiff

    peac

  • How many people checked the links in the side bar?

How many of you checked ALL of them?

The last one is very amusing. Is George trying to spice up his marriage? ;-)

  • Good thing I live in alberta Canada there's only a flat 10% tax

  • Does that include federal taxes as well? You pay through the nose for Medicare...not taunting you, I'm actually quite curious. You live in the most Conservative province in Canada, so I'd really like to know.

  • In alberta the health care is practily private and the averige wage is the highest in all of canada.

Over here people get paid 15$ an hour at macdonald.

Over all Alberta has the lowest taxes in North america. And unemployment is currently only at 4.2%

It's a great place to live if you want to work.

  • Hey I am in Ontario.

Do you know of any Alberta job sites?

  • I take it that is testament to Ralph Klein over Ed Stelmach? I see the Wildrose Alliance is picking up steam in the province.

  • What about us lazy government dependent Californians. Can we come too :)

  • There's is no welfare in Alberta so only if you can work.

  • Damn, the leaves California out :)

  • Maybe you should be out there finding work for the people you're complaining about. Instead of talking about gold and silver. Post Help Wanted ads instead.

  • Informative and Intelligent. Thanks George.

  • Sad. Just sold an appliance to someone who sold me her kids were out of work. Family is struggling. motivated to work but can't find. my heart goes out to people.

  • 197 ratings from 300 viewers. Impressive

  • Same Problem in germany.....too much wellfare. If you get healthcare (HartzlV) you get basically 360€ for food and so on and the rest ist payed by the government. Plus you get other stuff like free healthcare and so on as well......why work?!

  • This is one of your BEST videos!

  • This is a very harsh statement to make on my part, but it is true-

There truly are MANY inferior individuals in the world. There are those who are trapped in a world of poor genetics, physical attributes and abilities. It does not matter how you try to educate or train, they are incapable of acceling in anything more than the most basic of task.

Upto the present, the world has been compassionate, but it is turning. There is no doubt in my mind that the JASON Scholars are being implemented

  • Many middle class have known this for a long time. While not easily able to assign values to it, we've known. Another log to the fire which will be revolution.

  • Rocio,

the fiat money (dollars) are doom to fail because it creates all money as debt. The only solution they have now is to debase the dollar. This is for the purpose to substitute the consumer spending earnings by multinational exports earnings. Which means the dollars, 401k and savings will debase too. Invest in commodities, and real estate. All that you can buy now will cost double pretty soon.

  • Real estate!!!!

  • I'm stocking up on beans. (B+M umm umm good)

  • The idea is to penalize producers and reward non-producers. Companies discovered this years ago, and they went over seas to set up business. Our tax system is built to destroy. The founding fathers fought .... we beg for more government taxes so we can get more help to the impoverished..... insane

  • Great video.

  • my god Silver up 5 % today

damn i miss it so bad

  • Good vid George.

  • The more government controls everything, the more the public suffers, whether indirectly or directly. This is what occurs when our government been taking over automobiles (GM), food, water, energy, mortgage, and now healthcare.

  • closed at 1139

  • Great Video!!!

  • You researched this. I lived this.

I remember turning down overtime just to stay on the welfare rolls. But then after getting a few raises, the foodstamps got down to just $34/month, and it made no sense turning down $1000/month in overtime.

What really sucked was that the welfare office counted remittence from student loans as income, but did NOT count student loan repayments as outgo. So I ended up defaulting, and my debt legally trippled on my gov guaranteed loans.

    Assholes.

  • State of CT standards for living wage

    19.29 per hour

    $40,120 for single

    $100,000 for family

How many people in America meet this standard?

  • Excellent post George and very true Gov policies are literally creating class divides with a no mans land in the middle.

  • Alright Meredith Whitney is bearish now

    Dow will Tank

  • George I figured this out years ago based on my own situation. I was raising two kids on my own, working two jobs sometimes to make ends meet. I worked my way up the ladder to a salary of 38K a year and all of a sudden my income screwed me for help I was receiving before. I added up all the things I now had to pay for, including taxes and deducted it from my pay and guess what? My standard of living was going backward, in spite of making more money.

  • thanks for the confirmation...now the question is what to we do about it?

  • I figured out about 6 years ago what many posters here already have - that it didn't pay for my wife to work. And we're far from poor! Her $15,000/yr brought home about $500 at the end of the year, after accounting for child care and gas. We finally gave up, laughing (and crying) at the lunacy of the system.

  • Yea Time to watch CNBC Peter Schiff is on Fast Money Today

  • If I didn't know better I'd say this resembles something like reverse eugenics. Keep having the successful middle class (or what's left of them) continue to subsidize the poor, until the majority of the kids being born in this country are born to the poorest segments of society. Meanwhile the rich are building their castles.

  • No surprise... my county was dark at the start...

  • Ever since I woke up George I developed this strategy and here it is...

1 - make less = pay less taxes.

2 - own less = pay less taxes.

3 - make majority of cash holdings gold/silver.

4 - invest only in yourself.

5 - become as self sufficient as possible.

6 - try to live a more Christ like life.

If Caeser wants it, let him have it!

  • Yep, this is also my family's personal plan.

  • George - I'm often one of your critics but I have to say this piece is one of your best. Nice job. Analysis is the way to go.

Very interesting stuff. I think that just as a households disposable income does not increase in a linear fashion (as the study points out) that peoples response to their environment may not be entirely predictable either. In other words not everyone will respond by choosing to stay a lower income level. People may not be so rational.

  • I heard the other day from an employer that they had 2 jobs open paying about $10 per hour each. And they had people turning the job down because they were on unemployment and were making better than that.

  • I heard about that as well.

  • FAKE GOLD bars found in China.

  • I'm a college student I don't even make 6000$ a year..

  • I don't know why people making such a big deal about Gold going to $1200, then $1300, now $1400..what's next, $1500 ?? lol

Look, we all know Gold is going way higher than measly $5k so why people are getting so freakin hysterical every hundred $s beats me. It's not like the price manipulations is over anyways. I guess it's important if you're day trading or shorting

I'm glad gold is up, I am just waiting on the day COMEX busts - I think it will happen in 2010 -2011

  • It's fascinating to watch gold go up every day like it's fascinating to watch the Titanic's bow raise incrementally out of the water as another deck chair slides down into the water. One is mesmerized by the slow, gradual change knowing that soon will come the BIG SUDDEN EVENT.

  • Wow - that's a real eye-opener !

  • its a big deal because us gold bugs are in the minority and considered 'doomers' and that we're mostly wrong. Not this time me thinks

  • I wasn't being sarcastic - if you thought I was...

  • George, the best contrarian indicators are people who have strong opinions without a strong background, or understanding, and I no longer consider you a contrarian indicator. You have increased your understanding and you have developed a feel for the gold and silver price markets and I think you might be right this time. The dollar is in trouble and right now Obama going around Asia begging them to keep buying our debt. If he is successful the dollar could recover.

  • Good comment... However, I don't think Obama can get the Chinese to continue to buy our dept because our deficit is sky rocketing & our Gov continues to spend and print money like there is not tomorrow. The only way the USD can recover is if the FED raises interest rates significantly and this they will not do since it would put us into massive deflation and ruin Obama's 2012 re-election .
