  • @RoxasErica Making anime is not great you know. You have to draw so fricking much with almost minimum wage. It really is not worth it.

  • this inspires me :)

  • I don't know what it is about the girl but her facial expressions seem fake and creepy...

  • Whats wrong with the narrator???

  • @alessiachan88 Now if they can get popular/legendary mangaka to teach these kids like Akira Toriyama, Masashi Kishimoto, Kubo Tite, Oda Eiichiro, Seishi Kishimoto, Hiromu Arakawa, etc. =P

  • I wish to go Japan one day!

  • Grandissima Deniela!! Complimenti!! I also want to move to Japan when I leave highschool, but instead of becoming a mangaka like you I want to become an animator! And eventually an anime director!

  • I hope her work is brought out there all over the world

  • on tv. I myself want be become a writer and write manga, Japanese books are a great medium for writing. I love their novels. Anyways, keep going if you do publish a book I will buy it. ( wow NHK world has become less accurate lately hasn't it? They used to called it a book. I guess they got some idiot in charge now. I hope it doesn't become like spike or G4TV...

  • I am happy to see you followed your dreams as an illustrator for Japanese books. It never said anything about you being a writer too, that is very important to the books. So, did you take any creative writing classes? Like one person said, " manga isn't about drawing pretty pictures, it's about telling a story To do so, you have to be able to write that is very important. If it was about art it'd be a comic book, and that would suck." I remember hearing that from a friend from Japan and

  • i want to go to japan 2 T_T i draw , but im not as good as her ^^ soo hope really , to go someday !! and want to meet gackt *_*

  • When I heard them say "And of course italy" I thought they were referencing Hetalia

  • I'm kind of envious of you. But it looks tough out there. I guess I'm glad I didn't choose that career. Still, living there must be fun. Hope to hear more from you. I also will try to self-teach myself since I also has passion for arts, especially manga arts.

  • This really brings lots of hope for me. I am from Croatia, a small country in Europe, as well, which is just across the Italy and manga isn't actually too popular there but I still want to become a mangaka even though I'm only 14 and every day I practice drawing and I really feel like that's what I want to do and that that's what really makes me happy so, yeah, this documentary really brought hope for me that someday I could make my dream come true :)

  • Her Japanese is very good.

  • Nice!

  • Really nice documentary. I wanna go to Japan <33

  • Major respect. Thats crazy

  • LOOOOVE IT

  • That was a pretty awesome video

  • Notice how she is fluent in Japanese, and her drawing style is exactly like authentic Japanese manga. That's what it takes to become a manga artist in Japan, and even then she will have to start out as a senior mangaka's assistant until she can get her own work published. A lot of work, that's what it takes! Very cool she's acheiving such a difficult dream.

  • I am so confused right now, I 'm currently studying biology, but I draw non-stop, I love drawing manga so much, I have my own story and everything; people keep telling me I'm wasting my talents, but I have no support in my family! And I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake, any advice?, where do I start? Is this dream right for me?

  • @XidontwantcakeX why dont u continue doing both? :)

i know how u feel. my mom didnt let me to read manga or draw b4, but then she give up lol. i love manga soooo much, but i think this is not something that i can develop only by school or other educational program, u can learn it urself in ur spare time. im studying design currently. and still draw manga to improve my skill. but if u still insist to go with manga more and want to study about it, tell ur parents. slowly and it will take time.

  • @gurlzrose Thanks for the advise, I think this is something I really have to think about very hard, for now i'll keep doing both. Plus ur right, I should talk to my parents and let them know how I feel. ' w '

  • @XidontwantcakeX np :)

good luck for that and i hope u can find the best one for u

  • @XidontwantcakeX

    sorry japanese

  • "Dont give up on your dream"

Thats the best advice you can give any person with this aspiration as a job idea.

They are the only words i ever want to hear when things get bad for me when i draw manga :)

  • The narrator is SO annoying "and of course, Italyyyyyy... Daniella's home countryyyyy" shut up.

  • You made me cry out of hope ... thank you so much when you said to follow our dreams ... thank you...

  • i read moe kare :)

  • Was the "name" process developed by Inoue Takehiko or does he just imply that method himself?

  • @Ztrigg no names are used by all manga artists in japan and they are really helpful as well with paneling, word boxes, story flow etc.

  • @swifttiger ooh ok. See what happened was the first time I heard about the name preocess it was Takehiko san that was using it, ergo I assumed the process being a masterful creator he was, was his idea.

  • HOW GAN I GET THERE!!!....D:

  • Complimenti, non è da tutti riuscire a perseguire i propri sogni. Buon proseguimento di "vita in Giappone" e speriamo che un domani possa farti un nome nel settore.

  • For some reason.... I get competitive when I see people draw so good and end up drawing..... this time it's no different.

  • Living the dream! *7*

  • respect

  • 10:12 ! She draw very well !

  • Moe Kare!! is awesome!!!.

  • How did you get an apartment in Kyoto

I am going to study there and I need help finding an apartment:s

  • How'd you start?I mean before you went to Kyoto?Did you go to an art university?Did you have to take a pre-test to show your skills?I mean,I really wanna go their and become a manga artist for so many reasons!I think the main reason is to prove the people who said i can't be a manga artist or go to Japan wrong but also cause i enjoy drawing. But i can't figure out were to start? And it's driving me crazy....

  • I Didnt see one African American D:

  • I've always wanted to study on Kyoto Seika in either the animation or manga course department.. but what about the lessons there? Do you have to be quite advanced in Japanese already or?

  • OH-EM-GEE! That one hot dude had on a Daft Punk shirt!! Crazy shit, man lol. Reminds me of the school I've just started at, though. I'm a fine arts major, and while the product is of course different, the general way the classes work seem similar. Our professors are all practicing professional as well.

  • I wish I could draw better and fastet...and my Japanese would be better....this school seems amazing!

  • I remember reading an old article where Shueisha(major publisher) doesn't hire gaijin(foreigners). Shueisha does not want to hire non-Japanese artists. According to them non-Japanese artists can´t tell stories that will interest Japanese readers. Racism is pretty big in Japan, a lot of the readers consists of older demographics, not just kids. They are looked down on. Another question is that: Why should a Japanese company want to hire you? What can you do that a Japanese manga artist can't do?

  • I plan on going here once I get out of school and Im in the eight grade :D Will I see anyone else who plans to go??

  • She has Vampire Knight stuff ALL OVER her room! :D Anyone recognized the posters and the not-for-sale goods? How cool!

  • Popular manga in Japan by a foreigner? He he, not a chance. Too racist. But what's really impressive about this girl is that she can write Japanese by hand. Sure, a lot of foreigners can write in Japanese on a computer, but writing by hand, that's impressive.

  • @japanascope how is it racist? last time i checked the definition of racism was ''insulting and or discrimination someone by their race, skin couler and culture''

  • @japanascope Racist? how so? and what do u mean by 'not a chance'? people judge a manga by how awesome the story and the art style of the manga, they dont give a crap of the mangaka's nationality... the important thing is... foreign manga artist should make their manga shine n be interested by millions of people.

  • suck my dick

  • I love this :) Beautiful art and girl!

You will do just fine I am positive.

    GOOD LUCK!

  • i want to do that too i'll ask my dad if i can stay thre

  • I wish that I could learn how to draw manga in Japan. The problem is that I suck at speaking other languages :C

  • the queen weaboo

  • omg i love Ikeyamada, Go !!!

  • She's so cute and very good at Japanese. I was really impressed.

I hope someday we can read her manga here in Japan.

  • Wow :D I would also like to study in Japan at Kyoto University and speak Japanese that fluently :))

And I really want to draw Manga that good :)

  • Do you have a DA? deviantart?

  • why is narrator stretch the end of every sentence? mangaaaaa-----

  • me perdio
