The reason it was important to bears arms was because America had achieved independence through force of arms by defeating Britain. The irony of all this is pretty thick.
@UlsterScotKeith, 1689? Loyalists and Republicans need to come to their senses and realise the Jesuits are in the final stage of the Counter-Reformation and Apostate Traitor Queen Elizabeth II is head of the Knights of Malta (SMOM) in Britain, she serves the Pontifex Maximus/Papal Caesar ("Pope"). The Jesuit Order have infiltrated every Institution in the country and Papists should bear in mind the Reformation gave us freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, birthed the middle-class etc.
I have never heard of any Protestant within the "Republic of Ireland" to ever be subjected to Bigotry or violence because of their Religous Beliefs but the Bigotry from both devides in "Northern Ireland" is an all together a different story sadly. Draped in the "Union Jack" you must ask yourself this question..What has the British really ever achieved in Northern Ireland but only turn 2 communities against each other and fill peoples minds with hatred and anger and thirst for blood..???
@Supermacs88, "What has the British really ever achieved in Northern Ireland.."
May I suggest you familiarise yourself with the doctrine of Temporal Power. Every British PM during the 20th century was a Jesuit Temporal Coadjutor. I repeat what I said to the other poster, Loyalists and Republicans need to come to their senses and realise we're all enslaved under the Temporal Power.
"Ulsterscots" I have no issue with protestant teachings, as far as I am concerned we are all "Christians" devided by metaphorical interpretations within the Christian Bible which are of no huge significance but ultimately do not devalue the fundamental teaching blocks of christianity. There are 2 different cultures within the "Island of Ireland" as represented on the tri-colour flag which does embrace both cultures under 1 flag so its not to alienate against any one culture within the island.
@Supermacs88, "as far as I am concerned we are all "Christians""
As far as the Bible is concerned very few of you sinners are Christians. Popery is Antichristian. Freemasonry is Satanic (and centred in Rome). Babylonian Romanism isn't Christian and it never was Christian. The Jesuits drilled Irish Papists in Ultramontanism for 50 years but with the invention of the Internet there's now no excuse, you should come out of the Antichrist system as the Bible commands.
these bigots in the video believe in freedom for protestants alone. the orange order would have had more in common with the confederacy than the union
6.24 ' a victory for the Protestant cause which brought civil rights and civil liberties for all people in the British Isles'....He's taking the piss right?
@UlsterScotKeith You don't even know what the term means. You've no idea how idiotic you sound typing that, when it means nothing at all to you. You can't possibly relate to it. Why am I even typing to an idiot like you for? Where are all the intelligence Protestants?
It is sad having to read comments by catholic apologetics who have no reason to apologize and then also read comments from republicans replying to purposefully inciteful and infantile comments written by unionists. Normal rational people don't call the catholic church a church of paedophiles and call the pope the anti-Christ. Rational people do not willingly suppress the truth and believe propaganda. Rational people acknowledge truth in whatever form, not this absolute bullshit.
@suppernoddypo2k7 Very well said sir. But ultimately, to insult the Pope or the Catholic church doesn't affect me in the slightest. I have no cause to follow a church as I'm a Celt. But further, I don't insult the Irish Protestant community in Ireland. Idiots who blindly follow this Orange Order farce and it's teachings are too ridiculous to argue with. To say I'm a Catholic would be hypocritical of me. Let's just say I'm an agnostic, Political Catholic.
@angels77100, " Let's just say I'm an agnostic, Political Catholic."
Or in short, a Romanist? A Roman Catholic Internationalist/Universalist who despises Nationalism? A zealous papist who works tiressly to advance the Temporal Power of the Pope? The Roman Papacy is a politico-religious system (the 4th Beast/Empire of Daniel) and the advancement of her Temporal Power is always her first objective?
The face of catholicism is a religion, deep on the inside it supports the NWO and wants to be its leader. Catholicism is the only religion that is its own country and has its own World bank and hundreds of Embassy's around the world. It has its own seat in the United Nations. Its much more than a religion & it wants world domination. Just read your history books, they've killed more people and supported more evil regimes than anyone. They even supported Hitler to kill Jews. Pope=Anti-Christ.
what they dont tell us is, queen billy had a massive mercenary army from several different countries, out numbering opposition 30 to 1 at the boyne,he stayed on his boat probably mincing up and down
The Williamites certainly had a larger force at the Boyne but it was no where near 30/1.Some accounts state that William was very nearly killed by an Enniskillener who mistook him for a Jacobite during the battle. In other words he led from the front. But what is often not mentioned is that William advocated freedom of religous worship at the end of the war. It was the subsequent Protestant governments that broke the treaty of Limerick and introduced the Penal laws against Catholics.
@ambrosehoulihan You're quite correct sir. William did indeed want freedom and fair tolerance towards all people and religions after his victory in Ireland. Williams only reason for being in Ireland was to defeat James II. This was just a small part of the major European war that was raging between France, England and Flanders (Netherlands). Both armies at the Boyne consisted of English, Danes, Scots, French, Spanish and Irish.
@Supermacs88 You're obviously deluded. The people of Northern Ireland are Northern Irish. There is a massive cultural diffrence beetwen us and our southern breherin.
We have a language, culture (As is evident in this video), your dislike for the country desn't mean it doesn't deserve to exist .
@Supermacs88 The English haven't got a monarchy. The Northern Irish are Northern Irish. Scots, Northern Irish, Welsh and English are British. It's not that hard to understand.
Oh yes Battle Of the Boyne secured the Glorious Revolution and freedom of Religon (except erm? for Catholics). William of Orange was about tolerism? What planet are these cunts from?
All this because of one Dutchman. I understand that times were full of battles then. Holland knows alot about protestant battle against catholic ruling. But its been hundreds of years. We've let go of this intolerance on both sides completely. So I dont understand why they still have orange marches in Ireland.
Does the northern Ireland orange order really stand for religious tolerance? The general perception is the exact opposite imo. This documentary seems biased.
I'm from Québec Canada and I can tell you that there's lodges of the Orange Order in Canada... and as a PURE coincidence, ALL the Prime Ministers of Canada that had politics hostile to the french-catholics of Québec were member of an Orangist lodge... PUUuuuuure coincidence (yeah right!)
Henry didn't bring the reformation to England. He had no interest in Protestantism, all he wanted was permission to marry and remarry until he managed to produce a son and an heir. When the Pope refused him permission, he started his own Church.
William of Orange (Willem III van Oranje) really was gay, that's what we in the Netherlands call a public secret. Everybody knows,it's not made up man.
Its wasn't British persecuting....this took place before the UK was formed England was Anglican Protestants and Scotland was Presbyterian Protestants, there was persecution by the English against the Presbyterians most of the time not actually to do with religious issues it was more about nationality and politics in England trying to take over Scotland...later both nations joined up anyway in the Union and therefore became British and all Protestant churchs started to get along.
Anglicanism is what, in the United States, you would call Episcopalionism.
By the end of Elizabeth the firsts reign the Anglican Church was Calvinist in doctrine but Roman Catholic in administrative structure and this peculiar amalgam has persisted to the present day.
In the 16th & 17th century non conformism was rarely tolerated in any part of Europe. Which why minority religious groups always had such a hard time.
It's a Protestant group...the Orange Order isn't actually anti-catholic as such...i mean the members dont hate Roman Catholics that ins't true at all. However it is a Protestant group and therefore all Protestants around the world disagree with the Roman Catholic teachings (on religious issues) some people have tired to create this image of an anti-catholic group it is actually not true.
Those who claim William of Orange was a homosexual seem to solely rely on the facts that his arranged marriage yielded no children, that he promoted a handsome servant to be Earl of Albemarle, that he frequently secreted away for half hour periods with various males (did he ask them first "Are you a Prod?"), that it was the norm in the 17th century for kings to have many mistresses and illegitimate children (William not having any). If he was homosexual, who cares except the present day LOL?
What a pile of shit that introduction was. Religious freedom after William's victory? What about the Penal Laws? This is a sickening distortion of history.
i support the orange order!!! n king william is my role model, as a gay homosexual i respect him because he gave us a gay rights!! he was gay!! gay pride!!
no he wasnt, he freed the protestant people of scotland so they could worship as the wanted, the church of rome made it illegal for protestants to worship as they may
Dude dont you know what the Scottish reformation did for Scotland? Without John Knox, Scotland would have remained unfruitful but when the reformation came it was the best thing that had ever happened to Scotland, no longer was the common man on the street un able to read and write, but slowy the people were taught those two skills that took Scotlands education from the pits to new heights. It was fantastic, when the Anglican Church sent Bishops to Scotland they found the common people as wise!
hahahahaha if only they knew. The religions a farce it aint real (fact) and wots wit the fuckin marches eh. as if we give a fuck about you low life scum who attend.shove it in our faces why not dickheads
Stereotypical shite, plenty o piedofiles in ehh church o scotland:P just 2 days ago minister was arrested in connection with a child sex network. U hear about the gay minister aswell? WTF? fuckin full o piedos and GAYS. FUCKING FARCE YUT EH FUCK UP.
Protestantism is a lot of shite. I think il jsut go out and make my own religion eh! Make all my own rules up then some imaginery heaven will be made fir me:P
I take it you will be reading the report published today regarding the abuse of children by those in control of YOUR church. Paedophile priests getting their sexual kicks from 4 and 5 year olds. Nuns sexually assaulting young girls. This is the church that you profess to belong to. YOU SHOULD HIDE YOUR HEAD IN SHAME. it should change its name from the RC church to PC church (PAEDOPHILE CHURCH)
i support the orange order!!! n king william is my role model, as a gay homosexual i respect him because he gave us a gay rights!! he was gay!! gay pride!!
Established Church? The concept gives my brain a charlie horse. If you are Ozzie why do you speak so authoritatively about the Orange Order? They seem to be fairly vigorous to me. Ian Paisley speaks like an old Baptist preacher. The Ulster Prots (Is that regarded as an epithet? I only mean to abreviate.) maintain their parties fairly vigorously.
The closest thing to an established church here is the old Methodists. The new star of Protestantism (Pentacostalism) is a derivation of them.
Tendencious is a word that comes to mind. As an American Catholic I must say that the "Glorious Revolution" was disaster for the Catholic Church in America. Before it, Catholics could migrate to Maryland (get the name there) & enjoy full political rights there. After it, American Catholics had much of their property confiscated & their rights severally restricted. Catholics could not reaceive a college education in America, until our Revolution. Prot. liberty is a gross anachronistic lie.
Your absolutely right with regard to the US only I suspect. However, in the UK and Australia the only Protestant groups with any young membership seem to be American-based in terms of funding and general cultural influence. These churches have a high turnover in members and have a reputation for pissing of the established church here (both Protestant and Catholic). The old Orange Lodges are like many churches, abandoned or sold off.
tobermore cant you come back with something better?a real fenian man here ,i read killy blily loved to get fucked before before a battle ,does that mean you cunts fought with shite on your cock's ?always remember king billy loved the willy.tiocfaidh ar la
I see that you didn't even attempt to challenge the fact that the Anglican Orangemen killed Presbyterian United Irishmen. You learn something new everyday.
Also, I am not a "Fenian", I am English and have Northern Irish loyalist family. I am simply stating what is true, and what remains to be true even if you don't accept it.
Yes, they did. The United Irishmen (1792-1798) were a largely Presbyterian organisation and the Orange Order at the time (they were formed in 1795) were exclusively Anglican. When the United Irishmen rebelled in 1798 the Orangmen fought on the government side. Therefore, in 1798, Anglican Orangemen killed Presbyterian United Irishmen.
Jonathon Bardon is one of the top Irish historians around. Read his "A History of Ulster" for an objective and verifiable source.
my country wasn't founded by convicts.they were sent here by the english as punishment . and what has that got to do with me? it happened 200 years ago! my parents emigrated here in the 1960's from ireland.
In the next chapter the American idiot says how the brave Protestant Orangemen gallantly helped America in the revolutionary war against the British. Why can't they make up their minds?
The Orange Order were originally a militant organisation. For example, they fought against the United Irishmen in the 1798 Rebellion and they had regular skirmishes with Roman Catholics. They were also formed out of the Peep O'Day Boys, who sot and killed several dozen Catholics (at least.)
Ok, good insights in this documentary but it lacks being unbiased. This is not a good thing and I would have suggested that they also show the points of view from Catholics. That would be a good and informative and fair documentary.
Orange Walk, Parade of monkeys. Followed by wasters, Alkies and junkies. Look at the bigots, All in a row, Polluting our streets, A scourge on Glasgow. They blow on their flutes, And bang on their drums, In honour of William, And his band of gay chums. But our day will come, When ireland is free, From bigots like these, Not Pop-e-reeeee!!!!!
wee gentleman james got off his mark quickly enough after the boyne .His own men called him james the s***.Go back and study your history chickens***.
its pretty simple really if you don't wanna be Irish don't live in Ireland. Either way ur all the same people anyway with the Protestants being from Scottish decent and Scottish being from Celtic Irish decent. As for Protestant vs Catholic, its the same shit really
And you dumb Orange idiots don't seem to realize the irony of calling yourselves the "sons" of William.
LOL
History is showing King James to have been the real deal with regards to toleration for all, the Orangemen just a lot of foolish, lazy Irish drunks and uneducated bigots and cowards who embarrass their country.
this documentary is such bullshit!

I don't think William gave anyone gay rights although he was opening gay in a tilme when a person could be hung for it.
Funnily enough the Gealic Irish didn't appear to have any issue with homosexuality.

A Dutch King invited by the English parliament to accept the throne of Britain.
He had no interest in Scotland and was instrumental in the Darien failure in his protection of English trading monopolies.
He was an enemy of Scotland and our nation.

no he wasnt, he freed the protestant people of scotland so they could worship as the wanted, the church of rome made it illegal for protestants to worship as they may

Re- Henry V111,Eliabeth Tudor and Cromwell.
Possibly add the leader of the mob John Knox.
BillDFC 2 years ago
Dude dont you know what the Scottish reformation did for Scotland? Without John Knox, Scotland would have remained unfruitful but when the reformation came it was the best thing that had ever happened to Scotland, no longer was the common man on the street un able to read and write, but slowy the people were taught those two skills that took Scotlands education from the pits to new heights. It was fantastic, when the Anglican Church sent Bishops to Scotland they found the common people as wise!
Funloverdude 2 years ago
John Knox whipped up the mob into a frenzy of destruction, destroying churches and bullying those who did not agree with his fanaticism.
He was a bigot who helped Scotland loose her hard won Independence.
Religion? You can keep it! It's a curse.

VictorLepanto 3 years ago
Interesting history, but Protestantism is dead now.
wozza2341 2 years ago
It is laying on its death bed gasping, true. It is not quite yet dead. Not here anyhow.
VictorLepanto 2 years ago
Your absolutely right with regard to the US only I suspect. However, in the UK and Australia the only Protestant groups with any young membership seem to be American-based in terms of funding and general cultural influence. These churches have a high turnover in members and have a reputation for pissing of the established church here (both Protestant and Catholic). The old Orange Lodges are like many churches, abandoned or sold off.

How so? Changed my tune from what to what?
I see that you didn't even attempt to challenge the fact that the Anglican Orangemen killed Presbyterian United Irishmen. You learn something new everyday.
VanDoodah 3 years ago
Also, I am not a "Fenian", I am English and have Northern Irish loyalist family. I am simply stating what is true, and what remains to be true even if you don't accept it.
VanDoodah 3 years ago
Yes, they did. The United Irishmen (1792-1798) were a largely Presbyterian organisation and the Orange Order at the time (they were formed in 1795) were exclusively Anglican. When the United Irishmen rebelled in 1798 the Orangmen fought on the government side. Therefore, in 1798, Anglican Orangemen killed Presbyterian United Irishmen.
Jonathon Bardon is one of the top Irish historians around. Read his "A History of Ulster" for an objective and verifiable source.

Religious freedom for all? The Battle of the Boyne was in 1690. The Penal laws weren't repealed until 1827!
Oh, and the Orange Order was originally an Anglican organisation that went around murdering not only Roman Catholics, but also Presbyterians.
VanDoodah 3 years ago
where do you get the facts about presbyterians you tosser?
the orange order never murdered anyone you prick
01ovon 3 years ago
From "A History of Ulster" by Jonathon Bardon.
The Orange Order were originally a militant organisation. For example, they fought against the United Irishmen in the 1798 Rebellion and they had regular skirmishes with Roman Catholics. They were also formed out of the Peep O'Day Boys, who sot and killed several dozen Catholics (at least.)
VanDoodah 3 years ago
roman catholic viewpoints on orangeism are so full of bile that were they introduced it would completely ruin the video by filling it with hatred.
iainc 3 years ago
Ok, good insights in this documentary but it lacks being unbiased. This is not a good thing and I would have suggested that they also show the points of view from Catholics. That would be a good and informative and fair documentary.
