Glaciers are formed from snow that falls high in the mountains, builds up into ice, and then bulldozes down a valley. Therefore, there would be negligible amount of salt dissolved, so that pool would be fresh water.

REFRESHING!!! I recall when i did in the military here in sweden. but it was in a 10feet deep pool outside. We had to be under the water for 10seconds and then stay up, paddling with your legs and you wouldnt get up before you talk in a calm way without shuddering. The lesson was to not get panic if any ice should brake if you had to cross a frozen lake.. It was fun though! Some people just did incomprehensible wordlike sounds from their mouths that was so incredibly hilarious!! :D
