Any college student who kept awake during economics 101 is familiar with the Stolper and Samuelson theorem (1941) that essentially says wage rates for unskilled labor will decline under free trade just as the profit rates for capital will increase. So if you are wondering where all the manufacturing went and why a handful of Americans are filthy rich, well, there you have the answer. It is free trade. So what do the Republicans want? Free Trade has resulted in the END of the USA as a manufacturing nation. We have a record trade deficit. And our jobs are going overseas!. This is about total and complete destruction of the middle class. Are you nuts? We need to selectivly RAISE TARIFFS to protect what little we have left! This is just about the rich getting richer. Maybe if the government didn't keep raising minimum wage, protecting ridiculous union contracts, and imposing taxes and regulations on manufacturing, we'd be a little better off.

My solution is to go back to currency backed by gold and silver and to raise tariffs to protect what little domestic industry the US has left and only give tariff free trade to only those specific products we dont manufacture ourselves and to CANCEL ALL THESE bullshit Free Trade (oxymoron) agreements that outsource US jobs and benefit the rich on the backs of the poor.
