It was a flip, I remembered as soon I saw this back in august that you guys existed because I was 1102 M'Aiken Tech Magic's programmer and coach last year, but our mentor said we couldn't do a name change. Your team is yellow, we are Blue it'll be easy to tell. Either way the similarity of the shooter devices are there but it not the same at all. The paddle we use works more upon speed.
@StreelightSonata Bad Mentor. Anyway, you will want to read the "IR Seeker Vital Information" page linked from the usfirst docs page You also want to look at the levels of the adjacent sensor beams to get better positioning.
Hi, I'm John Fogarty from GForce 3864 and I'm interested in you guy's IR sensor code, I'm a RobotC programmer but I'm a FRC LabVIEW guys so I understand the language. Is it as simple as telling it to turn until it see the output from the sensor equal 5? Out IR is mounted right above our shooter. and it just something I want to try for world. Anyway looking forward to seeing you in Franklin.
@StreelightSonata Too bad you guys didn't do a name search before chosing GForce. We were Finalists at Worlds last year so we would have shown up. It's going to be weird having two "Gforce's" in the same division. Now we are going to have to work to differentiate our robot from yours, so it's hard to give programming tips that make us simmilar. However...
@Kreilly15 Yes, if it did but we added some things to prevent it: A ball agitator to keep the balls moving in the hopper, and an arm to detect if a ball gets jammed in the shooter. It reverses automatically. We have an "easy" button in teleop to let the robot auto-target using the IR. It works great.
ya have u had problems with motors this year? our team went through about 25 motors between two robots from our shooters and i hope u guys win we took 3rd 2nd and were chosen by the 1st place team in our second tournament

Does your shooyrt ever jam because that was what our problem was and do u guys program the IR to just take over and guide the bot to the high goal?

Hey there, very impressive autonomous programs.
I find your shooter very interesting, would you mind explaining how it works? Also, what is the material that your ball picking brushes are made of?
taalon 1 year ago
@taalon: Shooter is trade secret until after Atlanta :) Pickup brushes are made from Kydex (.030")
