I guess with dubstep being at a popular high now and him doing that, people just gave him that title. I'd like to see the next step of evolution for this genre soon, hopefully with that trance style like you mentioned. Id just like to hear more variety of sounds/instruments in a mix!

@VallaroMedia The difference is there is more than just a drum beat and a huge bass sound. Theres so much more texture to the sound in hip hop because of the many different levels of timbre being used. The dubstep I liked had more variety to the sound, my issue with new dubstep is its focus on that insanely aggressive bass. Thats all it is, just a drum beat and that talking bass sound. Its just to dry and simple to me.

Uhh, doesn't all music generally sound other music of it's genre? Isn't that the point of genres? there's many types of dubstep. Chill, reggae, dub, fusion dubstep, deathstep, should I keep going? Bare, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Spenca, ETC!ETC! are all dubstep artist with different equipment and make EXTREMELY different sounding music. This is true to each and every genre of music. With the exception of pop, country and house but hey, it's just music. Be versatile bro. I just look for good music.
