  • Fantastic work out idea. I think I will give it a try. Have you considered going all of the way down on your pull ups and getting your chin over the bar? I think your form will improve if you slow down just a bit on your pull ups.

  • this dude's doing more like a plyometric pullup for all yall sayin he's not doin pull up rite.......he exploded upward so his hands could leave the bar for a split sec at the top of the movement and it's very hard to do it wit so-called "full range of motion." the more u learn about fitness, the more u kno u dunno; at the same time, when u tend to jump quick to conclusions, it usually exploses how ignorant u actually r.

  • Dude, I tried this routine and I felt light-headed, and felt like throwing up after 6,7(?). I am reasonably fit, workout 3-4 times a week, play basketball and soccer every week. Why is that?

  • Well, your repetitions are not full, you should keep your head up when you do push ups in order to be able to descend further down, BUT that was really impressive! Keep it up, improve your technique. I'm gonna try this too, it must be trully hard!

  • you didn't do one correct pull up. you should come to a complete dead hang before you start to pull yourself up. you got your chin over the bar, so you are half right. the larger range of motion makes the pull up harder.

  • im trying to understand your training. its not anything its endurence/power/idk size? idk what your goals out of training are but it dosnt seem like your like obtaining anything but looking like every other puffy tool at the gym. your body has no thickness you arnt brutaly strong. idk whats your goal

  • i don't really train for size anymore, i do a little bit of everything, i took this last year when i was training for endurance, a little trick i picked up to increase pullup numbers i learned when i was in the marines

    and you never met me in person so you can't judge anything due to the lighting in the gym...

  • @billy2918 Nice, Marine guy, what was your job? I'm 18 going into Navy SWCC (Swick), almost same training as SEALs. My mentor also gave me a good pyramid workout to get ready for the brutal Challenge Program. Only question is why don't you control your pull ups more and lockout? It's not bad to feel the burn and struggle in a pyramid at only 6 pull ups. Try it man.

    Next post is my pyramid workout try it out with no jerky pull ups...fckn kills...

  • @billy2918 Set 1: 1 pullups/2 pushups/3 situps Set 2: 2 pullups/4 pushups/6 situps Set 3: 3 pullups/6 pushups/9 situps Set 4: 4 pullups/8 pushups/12 situps Set 5: 5 pullups/10 pushups/15 situps Set 6: 6 pullups/12 pushups/18 situps Set 7: 7 pullups/14 pushups/21 situps Set 8: 8 pullups/16 pushups/24 situps Set 9: 9 pullups/18 pushups/27 situps Set 10: 10 pullups/20 pushups/30 situps Then go back down set9, set8, set7...ect Takes a long ass time though takes me a hour or so

  • yea, i love doin my shit fast because it gets my adrenaline goin plus, when you do em fast you are able to do more anyways once you get amped up. fuck that slow borin ass shit. lol. im from tha hood and i do my shit fast when i workout and i still look good plus, im sronger than average. oh yea, and stretchin plays a big role too.

  • idk why you got a thumbs down. if you check all the big bodybuilders and powerlifters, they do reps fast. the only ppl that do reps slow are tiny fools who think its better. then they say all the huge guys doing it fast are wrong

  • Nice workout, but correct me if im wrong, but isnt a pyramid supposed to scale the number of reps for all the exersizes instead of just 1? example,

    1 pullup, 5 pushups (1st pyramid lvl) 2 pullups 10 pushups (2nd lvl) 3 pullups 15 pushups, etc.. then descend in reverse order.

    Maybe i just do em differently, but thats how i do em (although i dont go up to 10, i usually go to 5 with 5 or 10 pushups per tier (so that by round 5 im doing 25 or so pushups)

    still a nice workout though.

  • well that's one way of doing it, but pushups are too easy so i keep them at 10 rather than 1 then 2 then 3, etc

  • too much swinging and momentum used. could be a much better workout if you took your time each rep and used full range of motion.

  • blah blah blah, blah blah blah, maybe hypertrophy is not the goal, and i'm lookinjg to build up explosiveness in and endurance, i'm sick of internet know it alls, maybe if you actually read about how to train properly from somewhere other than a fitness magazine, you'd realise that slow and controlled isn't always the answer, if your going to criticize my workouts, at least learn how to work out first...
