I love that the NSEA Protector is at space dock. I've always thought it had a motion picture Trek look about it. Basically it's a Constitution class refit engineering hull and warp engine pylons with a Vulcan derived warp engine ring. Maybe when the Thermians went back through the black hole after dropping off the humans in Galaxy Quest they ended up in the mid 23 century and perhaps their ship and it's technology was the basis for all of starfleets upgrades at that time. It could (will) happen.
@enterprise1476 Practical? Look at the other designs, the only two "practical" ones were the D and the E. The nacelle pylons were thick and short while the A's were thin and tall.
As for the brewery for engineering, they did it because they didn't have enough money for the real one.
how did you make the Enterprise and everything stretch right before it jumps to warp? I'm trying to get the same results in after effects by using trapcode shine, but it isn't doing the trick. Optics compensation?
@EnterpriseKnight , it will be very simple - rendered frame, specular and self-illum channel and some effects like starglow in after effects, that's all. Warp starfield - simple trapcode particle system with trapcode shine effect.
Actually, in a weird, warped, twisted way ... I like the shaking, because one is immediately drawn to the extraordinary uniqueness of the shot. Top-notch, convincing visuals married with the wide-eyed, awestruck rookie camera operator's style really works. Star Trek meets Cloverfield :D
@valkeriecic The sound theme - Guild Wars, composition the Moment of Truth. Warp jump, flyby and some other sounds I took from the ST XI movie, just cut them.
Theres talent there man, but you should die down the shaking, we were in space not say your living room, you wern't on a hand held in space probably a satalite, so making it seem like we are watching a stereo view from an orbiting satelite would have been awesome, as they say, shaking is for heavy action, running or exploding
@EnterprisezJ Kinda looks like you were trying to emulate the BSG type of recording. I agree with Verteros. The effect was awesome, though! Would be cool to see some high-warp action sequences.
@troy2062 LOL I meant to write "Galaxy Quest" instead of Galaxy class, referring to the circular ringed ship at the spacedock, but I guess habit meant I stupidly put "class" after the word "Galaxy" Whoops!
love the Galaxy Quest cameo

I don't understand why some people don't like the new Enterprise.
I guess it's because she's so different and yet the same?

AWESOME! best star trek CG video I have seen so far! You've got a new subscriber!
I made a star trek XI warp effect myself a while ago (not as good as yours by far)
but I would very much appreciate your oppinion on it. (If it is no trouble off course)
just visit my channel (it's my most recent video)

That's the galaxy class ship right?
Love the far out view of that Miranda warping at the start, proves it does stretch a bit, this new effect...
(Reminds me a bit of the Birth of the Federation game actually....)
