As long as we say things like "we will always have war," we will always have war. What holds us back from evolving into more peaceful people on a global level is our belief that it can't happen, is our inability to imagine a world of justice and peace. What would it look like? In the 1800s, slavery was "the way things are and will always be." Societies have lived in peace for generations—it can happen. YouTube has the potential to move us forward on this path. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. I think I may have to somewhat clarify a point. The only thing that will always exist in humans is disagreement. Which is fine. We need it. But there will also be those who will try to take it to extremist measures. How we handle those situations and how the world sees that kind of action will dictate how peaceful our world is.
You bring up an interesting question about how decisions would be made in a society where everyone can empathise despite their differences. I would like to think democracy and the 'marketplace of ideas' is the answer; however it would depend on how minority opinions would react to being overruled by the majority.
heh im still empathic and loving it lol
