Ha! the painting is excellent!!! perfect combination of foreground, middle distance and the horizon hills. It went very well with the crescendo of Bolero too as your finished off the painting. Liked the wavy line water design
I'm so happy for you that you sold this exciting and classy piece ... Beautiful. I remember this well... have it in my faves and my daughter (the young artist/goddess) and I have enjoyed watching and listening on several occasions!
So nice of you to say Carol. I'm glad you like it and I hope I can do some more for you in the near future. Makes one feel like art does matter in the world after all when one touches the young and aspiring out there.
Thank you Alberto. I believe everyone can paint if they listen to their inner muse. We are all artists as children and then we listen to people who convince us we are not. I would like to see some of your work. Ciao!
The scale of the scene in the painting goes well with the bigness of the music. Is this a scene from memory or all imagination? Thanks for the excuse to listen to this great music again. A good piece for play-testing flutes--if you can get that low C, you know it's not leaking.
All imagination Les. I love improvisation and this was done just letting the painting tell me what it needed next. Funny point about the flute testing. You are a wealth of obscure information. Take care and thanks for looking around my channel so much. I appreciate it.
As I watched this, my thoughts drifted between Bo Derek in bed with Dudley Moore, and the foothills of the Dolomites, outside of Venice. And I thought you were just another gifted musician. What's next, time laps video of you performing a vasectomy on yourself to the music of Great Balls of Fire?
LOL Lou. No, the boat has sailed on the vasectomy but your suggestion does have great theatrical value. Thanks for sharing your inner thoughts.... you're at least as strange as I am 'o)
Oh that was wonderful! Your painting is very cake like. It was very sweet and melted in my senses. Then when it zoomed up at the end, it was great to see the those flowers in detail. That could've been another painting in itself. And of course the music went along great with it.
enjoyed the painting! early in its development, had you stopped, i would've suggested "hanging gardens of lance brown" as a working title
this music reminds me of so many things, including that weirdly peaceful scene in Conan the Barbarian before the statue turns into a giant flesh eating rhinoceros
Yes, that was a moving scene. Almost as moving as when Arnold as the Terminator went under the molten metal giving a final thumbs up. LOL Your last paragraph truly cracks me up. That made my day.. thanks.
This was amazing to watch Lance! When you panned out on the finished piece at the end, I noticed details I did not witness at first. WOW! Thanks for sharing your talents with me. I appreciate it immensely! Peace!~Ted
A good Sunday morning to you FF. The answer to your question is this: The last time I did this I threw my shoulder out. So I must warn you not to try it without medical supervision. In fact, before I can send you the tab I will need a note from your doctor. I'm sorry, but I am doing this under the advice of my legal department. Can you imagine my overhead with all these doctors and lawyers on board? 'o)
Thank you Ray. Sometimes these improvs are more successful than others. Some I haven't gotten on tape in which the end product comes out better. I'm satisfied with this except for some the foreground. It just could have been a little sharper in contrast with the distant stuff. But I try to keep the painting time under an hour. Anyway I appreciate your liking it and saying so. I'll get better with practice.. and yes, Ravel is powerful stuff for sure.
Yes Mary. You've heard of the Canyons of your mind. Well this is the backyard of my mind. :o) Thanks for dropping in on me. I appreciate you're ongoing support.
Ravel's olero....Reminds me of a march to....somewhere....I mean... If I were to close my eyes and let it take me there...Purple Mountains Majesty are good too though...wonderfully creative work lance...you are a true innovator...at least on the tube...
A really good job, Lance. Of course, if you had flipped it over at the end and it was a picture of Bo Derek, I would have been really impressed! Oh well, I'll just have to appreciate art for art's sake. So what else do you like to do to Bolero???
well done, i'd like to do a time lapse of a painting some time, but it usually takes me a few sessions for me to finish.
It would be cool to see you paint to different genres of music and compare them to each other, ie. paint while listening to heavy metal and compare the painting with one done while listening to classical music, and see if there is any difference in your technique and application.
Good suggestion blooeye. I want to do some to free improv jazz. I do have an event set up to paint to a local rock band at a charity event here in Chicago in April. Hope to get video. Thanks.
WOW Lance I pretty floored you just had no drawing first and plunged right in!! WOW BRAVO my friend. This was so cool watch. And all done in less than 8 mins...speed paint my word. I enjoy your videos & paintings very much! :-)
