  • having this cooler. no regrets.

  • Tissue test is creative! :D

  • it's always funny how comments get deleted for no reason... thanks youtube.

  • spelling error: quiet not quite ;)

  • @kaltblut Dho... Doh ;)

  • It is not a poor design and using it backwards like that is dumb. It is designed to blow cool air up to the laptop. For the XPS you're better off with one that sucks hot air out of the vents on the bottom. Using it backwards will blow air into the system obstructing the airflow of the system fans. You should turn it back around the right way so the fans are cooling the HDD / System while allowing the XPS vents to blow hot air out and maintain good airflow.

  • @grig26 do you own a xps m1730???... the one I got the air shoots out the back... not the bottom.

  • @MovieDemocom Grig26 is correct. I can see where the vents are on your laptop and that is exaclty how the cooler is intended to work.

  • tell me how to clean it? i got nc-1000, i dono how to clean it. i unscrew all the screw driver. but it can open the whole things..

after 1 year u use this cooler the fan might get dirty and, it wont perform as gud as when u bought it.

so any1 or zalman, can u teach us how to clean it?

  • Yeah, really need an answer. Somehow a beetle crawled into mine, I'd like it out of there! And a lot of dust I'd like to vacuum out too. So annoying.

  • if you have to turn it a round, ti doesn't fit nicely.

  • does anyone know how to replace the cooling fans on this laptop cooler?!? shoot..I hope I am able to replace them!

  • I bought the logitech n100 because its the only laptop cooler i'v found that was ACTUALLY DESIGNED TO BE USED ON YOUR LAP...this one is stupid...if you set it on your lap the fans are gonna get blocked.....geesh....is there a shortage of engineers with common sense out there

  • is this cooler big enough for my 18,4" laptop?

  • @kohrak123 hey so what kind of cooler did you end up using? im looking for one for my 17"

  • sloppy review.. 0 starts

  • SchneiderStudios: Spelling error gives you -6 stars...

    Misspelled Word(s): Stars

    Word Difficulty (1-10): 1

Definition: A star is a massive, luminous ball of plasma that is held together by gravity. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, which is the source of most of the energy on Earth.

Verdict: You Are Not Smarter Than a 5th Grader :)

  • the amout of cooling would of been nice to know, isn't that the point of buying a cooler to reduce the lappy temperature by x degrees, so how about it?

  • does anyone know if this will work well with a G50vt-a1?

  • Is it safe to use this while the optical drive is running since the laptop is slanted? Would it scratch the lens or disc? What about the hard drive?

  • I've been wondering the same exact thing. There are a whole slew of cooling and stands that all seem to put the laptops base on an incline. Is it bad for hard drives and optical disc drives to not operate perpendicular to gravity? But then again people use laptops on their laps which aren't exactly flat.

  • NOt ALL laptops seat on FLAT surface like a desk. people frequently use then just on "LAP thus LAPTOP" or throw them on a bed . so this will defeat the effectiveness of the device, by looking at the design, it will block the exhuast vent. its a design flaw. Does anyone actually used these say on bed surfaces on laps?( as people frequently do while transit etc) I like to know, I am looking for really good unit that really works.

  • this would not work on a bed and dell xps m1730 would over heat very quickly. I personally have not seen any coolers that vent from the sides. sorry couldn't help more.

  • @MovieDemocom Could you maybe review the Notepal Infinite by Master Coolers? It seems to be an alright cooler, and it says it's air intake is in the back so it can be used on your lap/bed/etc. But all the reviews on youtube seem to be in another language. Thanks

  • Try quad cooler.

  • You fail to recognize the target demographic for this product. The NC2000 is marketed to performance users (aka. Gamers) who use 17 inch laptops as "Desktop Replacements". We don't buy gaming laptops for use on our lap.

We use 17" laptops as a portable machine to bring to LAN parties or a smaller alternative to save space on our desks. The NC2000 compliments our need for added cooling & comfort. All high performance laptops have heating issues, so it's not a design flaw at all.

  • it seems by looking at the unit, if you put your laptop on your lap"LAPTOP" it might block the vent and becomes useless, Yes it works well if you put the unit on flat surface like desk. THis is another design flaw it seems. does anyone who actually use this units on Bed or laps or find this not as effective? Laptops are freq used while in transit put on uneven surfaces.

  • dude, you are reviewing the cooler, now stop showing off you hardware, i just wanna know how this thing goes, dont care what you have, and why should a cooler affect the fact you're using a g15 keyboard remotely? and whats a chair got to do with anything.

peace out, please review better next time (Y)

  • Thanks for the interesting review. After watching the video, I ended up purchasing a silver version of the Zalman Notebook cooler for my 17 inch, Gateway P-7811FX Gaming Notebook. However, like the Dell M1730 in your review, I had to turn my notebook around to achieve maximum cooling, since the CPU & GPU is located towards the the rear. Nevertheless, the Zalman Notebook cooler is a great solution for any laptop, especially gaming notebooks, with heat issues.

  • Would this fit to a 17" HP pavilion laptop?

  • no idea. The measurements are in the review. The laptop in video is a Dell XPS M1730 which is pretty huge, so odds are it would fit any laptop out there. Remember to figure out where vent holes are on your laptop. Also we have a HP laptop that blow the air out the bottom. This would create a conflict. So make sure that the laptop draws air in from the bottom/ base of laptop.

  • well, nc 2000 fits laptop perfectly.... mine is the gateway 17 inch laptop.

  • I have an Asus G1s and the GPU intake vents are at the as well as the vram. A shame or else I would have picked this up.

  • This review was worthless.

  • Thanks for the help, I ordered the 1000 unit instead so hopefully it'll do the job for me. I couldn't see spending more money on the 2000.

  • I just ordered the 2000. There are over 300 more vent holes on the 2000. This makes the 2000 quieter because less air is rushing through each hole. And performance is better on the 2000 because more of your computer is cooled.

  • Will a 15.4" laptop fit properly on the cooler? I have a Dell 1520 that's souped up and gets pretty hot when I put it on "High Performance" settings. My fans are located more towards the center of the laptop compared to the XPS system you had in your video. Also, is the top of it plastic or aluminum. Nice vid by the way.

  • It should fit it, I guess the best advice is to take the dimensions on the video and cut a piece of paper out to those dimensions to see how it would work. since the fans are in the center there would be no need to turn the unit around. It has a metal(aluminum top - the silver) and a plastic bottom and feels very durable to the touch. Hope this helps and be sure to subscribe, we do reviews and skits.

  • that is the stupidest solution i have ever seen, just slide the notebook down a bit.

  • actually the fans line up perfectly if you turn the cooler around backwards. Since I use the laptop as a desktop replacement when at the office or home, it works great. And sliding the laptop down 6 inches (to get the fans to line up) would add 12 inches of more space required on the desk. So I believe flipping it works best but you're welcome to do whatever you want with yours.
