  • My brother has MS, I did encourage him to look to nature to know how to care for his body, the first thing that one notices is that in nature, other species of primates especially, is that they aren't afflicted with chronic debilitating diseases like MS, cancer, diabetes, coronary heart disease...etc. No other animal eats it's food COOKED, no other animal eats any processed foods.

  • It's also questionable as to whether we should eat animal flesh & drink their milk, there are no other species of animal that drinks the milk of another species, as a matter of fact the children of other species stop drinking their mothers milk weening.

My brother said that the best he had felt was when he went on a raw juice feast(not a fast), this is no austerity measure hence 'FEAST' and those who do persevere for up to 30 days have insights & a renewed relationship with their body

  • @veganath Well I guess that depends on whether someone believes humans are animals ;o). Seriously tho, I have been doing the Jelinek diet the last few months, no meat (except fish), no dairy and no saturated fats. Will see what that does to me. Of course that means no chocolate cake which is sad. Nice to hear from you, Kerri.

  • @kezzcass Oh no! Chocolate cake isn't something to avoid, on the contrary, a raw chocolate cake/pie or chocolate mousse with raw cocoa is wonderfully nutritious(dubbed a superfood), & can be the base for your raw comfort food indulgences...hehe!

Just google "raw chocolate cake" literally 100's of variations.

goneraw.com/recipe/life-chocolate-cake (gonerawDOTcom is a terrific resource for mouth watering pic's be careful..lol)

  • G'day Milinda, thanks for your message. Doing ok at the mo, have an MRI later in the week and see Neuro next week so will prob do another vid after that. Hope you are keeping well. :-) Kerri

  • Hey there! Congratulations on making it through your first year with a smile on your face! We have roughly the same anniversary, and your video makes me reflect over my first year, as well. I have much to be thankful for.

  • Hey Kerri I hope I didn't blow too hard on your candle - I love chocolate cake too. Great to hear you have started Tysabri. You're looking good girl. Cheers, Jessie.

  • Hi Jessie - was that you blowing? At least you didn't try to take off with the whole cake! Although I am happy to send you a virtual slice :)

    Thanks for your encouragement. Kerri

  • Yay! You started Tysabri! I am glad the infusion went well!

I also had a 1 year diagnosis anniversary on September 1st. I know exactly how you felt on ur anniversary. It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed...*sigh*

    Take much care!

  • Hey Anna. Yes it is all rolling now! It is strange to look back over everything that has happened. Seems like so long yet that day the doctor told me I had MS seems like last week! Keep well. Kerri

  • Keep up the fight Kess! Make sure you keep us up to date on how you are doing with Tysabri.

  • Thanks - certainly intend to keep up the fight. Back in for my 2nd infusion today. So far only strange thing has been a case of hives (which I have never had b4). Other than that feeling fairly good. Kerri

  • Hey Marlo, no doubt taste-o-vision is on the way! Well if Willy Wonka can do it it is only a matter of time! What a pain about your kidney infection - sheesh! You like to keep life interesting for sure! Sorry about the torture - my friend and I often say chocolate and a Johnny Depp movie is very good therapy! Even better when the JD movie is about chocolat! Hope you're doing better this week. Kxo

  • I wish there was taste-o-vision. I want the cake! I like what you are celebrating! I wished for the same thing as you I think. ; ) I am glad to see you looking so well and celebrating life! You are a shining star!

Fingers crossed for you with Tysabri. This week is my fourth I think. I had to skip a week as I was hospitalised for a kidney infection last week. Never dull!

Oh! and then you said you are eating the chocolate cake. This was torture this part. I am a chocoholic. :)

    M xx

  • Good on you Kerri! There are definately positives to come out of this thing, and you're right, life is good! Especially now we are starting to see the blossom come out on the trees and the weather start to improve. Happy birthday! (any excuse for cake right?)

  • Hi Amanda, Oh yeah - how can you not be excited by Spring coming in to Melbourne (except that we really need more rain!!!) and a little less wind would be nice. Yes there are positives - you just need to look out for them! Have a great day. Kxo

  • Dear Kerri,

what a nice looking cake you made! :)

  • This is a really fantasic video, thanks for sharing your thoughts and your cake! Shame I can't try it but it looks so gooood. Glad about Tysabri as well, and most importantly your attitude and that you celebrate life :-) x

  • Always happy to eat cake with my friends (even better when I don't actually have to share it - LOL). Of course I would bake you a cake but not sure it would be too edible after travelling half way round the world! Kerri xo

  • Chocolate cake for everyone!!! Thanks for sharing your positive spirit and attitude :)

    Peace

  • Hi Pennygirl - sending a virtual slice of choccy cake your way! Kerri xo

  • Happy Anniversary....I think its fabulous that you are recognizing this day for yourself and how determined you are...its been 2 years to the month for me and you have just had me remind myself of all the changes since that day...And i know what you wished for in that candle....and i wish it for you too:).......Your positive message here is another example of how you arent letting MS take over....all the best with the tysabri...You are inspiring in your talk of appreciation.GOD bless, ione.marie

  • Thanks Ione marie, it is strange that a line is drawn when you are diagnosed; before MS and after MS. Even so I am still me and that is why I celebrate - I am not MS and it doesn't define me or confine me. But there is change to be done not only in our bodies but inside 'us' and I celebrate that too. Kerri xo

  • Today it is exactly eight months ago that I was diagnosed having ms (decembre 18, 2008). Time flies, even when you don't have fun...

  • Hello Kerry,

You are such an encouragement to others. Like the way you celebrate that you know for 1 year now that you have ms... Hope the cake tasted well.

And I hope the Tysabri will help you.

    God bless!

  • Thanks Janet, Trying to always find some good in every circumstance - sometimes feels overwhelming - but hope to always be able to celebrate the blessings I have in life. Kerri xo

  • Hey Kerri,

You are such a inspiration! You positive attitude is so uplifting.

    Smile on!

    xoxo

    Tori

  • Thanks Tori - you are inspirational too. I like your videos showing you are getting on and living life well. Kerri xo

  • You can have MS and still have a fulfilling and good life?

    SHHHHH.

Do not get the secret out!!!

I find myself not feeling bad for getting something I do not deserve.

I find myself being grateful that I do not GET WHAT I DESERVE LOL

Kerri, you are an inspiration to others. You are exactly right. You are not caught in limbo. You know what it is that is changing your body and you are doing something to combat it.

    God bless you, dear friend.

Happy 1 year anniversary taking your life back.

  • Hey Mark, Woohoo! Isn't it the tough times that help us define the wonderful times as 'wonderful?' And I like to continually search for and recognise those wonderful times. Not going to let MS crush my spirit :-) Kerri xo

  • Hey girl! I'm glad to hear that you began Tysabri and things seem to be going better. Lots of smiles and hugs! :) XOXO!

  • Thanks Laura, so far so good! Let's see how the next few months pan out. Thanks for the smiles and hugs xo
