they will never be free of opression in those countries because of they're reglious leader's ,but the guy who say we are losing our rights as americans is right. half the country is on anti depressents. sometimes I wonder how we survived this long, we have no balls anymore
Your right on the mark tradernorton americans will protest a mc donalds closing or a wall mart rather than the so called elected officials who are supposed to support the common mans interest. I wish this country had the balls of the citizens of Iran that are standing up for what they believe in.
Did nobody hear about the protest that JUST happened like a month ago involing millions of americans against the government direction???????? I guess not. So americans arent hardcore enough because we dont get shot as often when we protest? Do we half to get shot at to be real protesters?
If your talking about the " tea party rallies" I was there and ya thats all poetic and exciting in a sanitized way. Do you remember the founding fathers who rallied in the face of muskets and bayonets to repel taxation . we let the government run ramped through our paychecks give our money to the special interest, save the banks and best yet take away more of our rights. We are killing what this country meant to our founding fathers and we will be giving future generations a barren planet.
The comparison is offensive to any sane person and absolutely DISRESPECTFUL to Iranians. There is a HUGE difference. Looks like you, in all your ignorance and stupidity, are the one who has been watching too much television.
It seems that rather than Mousavi controlling the movement it would seem that the movement is controling him. In the long run it would cause problems for him later on.
This is beautiful, but I fear their peaceful revolution is as fragile as butterfly wings in the face of the guns of the Revolutionary Guard. We in the west support the Persian people in their stand and cheer their bravery. The mullahs have the guns, but the beating of a butterfly's wings can build into a hurricane and this is our wish. It is time for real change in Iran.
The real irony is that Mousavi-Ahmadinejad is just another in a long line of figureheads. No candidate can run without the approval of the ayatollahs, so in effect, he is really no better than Ahmadinejad. It's all just rhetoric. There is Khameini, and that's it. "Supreme Leader" means just that. If this grows beyond protest to successful revolution, Iran will organically democratize. Otherwise and as long as the mullahs reign, Iran remains among the gravest threats to peace in the world.
