  • To asnwer your question : what is the function of snot? Snot has a quite important function, it made sticky so all dust paticles and sand and such things that do not belong in your lungs stay in the nose, instead of in your lungs.

When you have a cold your mucous membrane( where your snot is produced) get infected and starts to swell and it starts to produce way too much snot.

  • ive blew so much snot out of my nose it could fill a jug

  • hahahaha loser

  • no one cares?

  • and ill presume ur no one then

  • you presumed correctly;)

and more then likely the rest of the world..

  • I used to work in the airport as a security officer, and I took up to 2500 mg of vitamin C everyday. (chewable) you can take up to 15000 mg with no bad side effects- but at around 20000 mg you might get the runs. Still, no long-term side-effects are known.

Airports are the best places to pick up viruses. But now you know.

  • yeah that's annoying alright and even if you have some tissue it doesn't last very long eventually you just have to use your sleeve

  • haha, sorry about that

  • Ya... i hope you get better

  • All your snot comes from the stomach as it lines the inside of your stomach to not let stomach acid burn the skin lining of your stomach. Science in a shell!

Awesome video, bad luck woth the cold, have one myself, my throat is killing me. Hope all gets better man : )

  • from the stomach? So not the nose? weird

  • Take ZINC

  • yay u've been to abu dhabi??

i have a lot of friends there.

    meri krismas mokz. 5*****

  • do any of them work in hotels... maybe I saw them, haha, I saw Filipinos everywhere I went in both Abu Dhabi and Muscat

  • goverment firm. i think they live already and work there permanently.

  • I was at the Cliffs of Moher there on Saturday.

Now today I am suffering some sort of allergic reaction to something I have no clue what and my body is covered in hives.

    Yay...

Blocked nose isn't caused by snot, apparently it is caused by blood vessels in your nasal passages expanding.

You get a decongestant like Vicks or something to constrict them again, should help with the breathing.

My nose is almost aways blocked and Vicks inhalers help a lot.

  • What could you be allergic to? High places maybe? haha

I got some vicks here, just sniffing it every now and then, helping a little... though I probably look like an addict sniffing it all the time, haha

  • I have no idea.

My cousin gave me some antihistamines day before yesterday, they helped a lot.

Like I said, I have a Vicks inhaler that I use near constantly for my blocked nose, but I don't have a cold...

  • my cold just starded today and i hate it its really bad for me a have to blow my nose every 10 seconds and that one of the reasons i hate winter hope you feel better

  • Yeah I hate feeling sick it's bloody annoying feeling unable to do things

  • Hope you feel better.

  • Whoever invented snot annoys me

  • think that would be God... he annoys me too

    haha

  • GROOOOOOOOOOSSSSSS

    anywho.

prescription is vitamin C, good ol' chicken soup, and go to the pharmacy and get a nasal spray.

    Feel better soon.

  • may I add also some breath right nasal strips and vicks chest rub (if you dont have vicks in Ireland and mentholated chest rub), and get well soon mokong

  • i've just been holding a a tub of vicks under my nose and sniffing it...slowly unblocking it

  • Lots of orange juice is what i usually do too for vitamin C, but i drink loads of juice normally anyway, you'd think it would help prevent colds :p

  • I gagged when he said he could fill the glass with snot!

  • hehe, sorry

  • good vid, bad to see your not feeling great, but ill prolly have the same thing whenever i get back from morocco on new years ;(

well ill prolly miss your new vids since im going away this wendesday, anyway all the best,

    cormac

  • the dolphin video is up now :)

  • In the respiratory system mucus aids in the protection of the lungs by trapping foreign particles that enter, particularly through the nose, during normal breathing. "Phlegm" is a specialized term for mucus that is restricted to the respiratory tract, while the term "mucus" more globally describes secretions of the nasal passages as well.

hope u feel better and looking forward to the vids.

  • But why so much more when your sick? haha

  • good ideas man

  • nice to see your bk i missed your vids, btw...You travel a lot, what's your job?

  • travel agent, went to visit hotels, learn about them and the destinations, to hopefully make it easier to sell to clients

  • Sounds like it was a great trip but I'm sorry you're feeling poorly! Mucus is a pain in the ass when one is sick but it serves many important functions when we're well like keeping pollutants out of the lungs and our nasal passages from being dry. I wish I knew why there is so much of it when we're sick. It's worth looking into, but more importantly I do hope you'll feel better soon. I must say that ginger beer and alka seltzer is a wonder cure in my family. Good luck!

  • starting to feel better now... didn't try the ginger beer though, haha, thanks for the tip anyway dude

  • snot stops dust geting into your brain

  • i guess that makes sense, haha

  • Haha, first to comment. Up yours, assholes.

*Holds up middle finger to computer screen, like a retard*
