Unprofitable, and someone burned one of the100 year old wooden bridges. So CSX just cut the line

They were only pulled 6 cars a month off that line. so It would have bee an expensive bridge to fix also. I dont think CSX wanted to lose money just to pul 6 cars a month

then CSX would pull even less because thats devideing up those 6 cars between CSX and BNSF. But its gone now. A Crapy trail takes its place now

Its sad to see these once busy lines abandoned. This same line (P&M) goes through my area in Paris, TN. Thanks for posting.

That is absolutely AWESOME! Talk about preserving history! Did you take these pics, or find them on line? I'd love to do a little history on them. OH, and on a side note, are you going to the L&N Historical Society convention next month in Chattanooga? Should be a lot of fun! Google it if you haven't heard about it...
