my dear kevin , its gharana passed from one generation to another .
ustad amanatali fateh ali khan and their forefathers they have spent lives practising indian music. another family is ustad nazakat ali slamat ali . this music is divine and spirtual .listners of all shades with some element of spirtuality love this . u r perhaps one of them .thank almighty
Very powerful voice, interestingly after hearing this song I thought about Rafi sahibs 'O duniya ke rakhwale'.Can anyone tell whether both songs are composed in the same raga?
Oh my god...this is absolutely brilliant...I am from India...but this certainly created a bigger impaact than the Indian version...!! I have already listened to this around 15 times in the last 1.5 hrs...!!
I have seen Saftqat's fathers videos on YouTube - Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. He too is a great singer. Adding to the Saftqat's great God given voice and a talent that has come thru his ancestors for last 500 years, i must say the other musicians & composers also have a great talent in producing such a soulful music. It’s a perfect blend of a perfect Riaaz (practice) and a great knowledge they have of today’s music technology that makes Sufi more more more soothing to ears and listen it repeatedly!
The pakistani coke studio is far better then the indian one, but one thing should the indian version get credit for. They keep the singers real voice. They don't mix it. Just look at Shafqat's videos from the indian version.
The orchestra ruined it out.. Background music, guitar, coaxing, beat....drums.....bakwaaaaaaaas piano touch... They ruined this beautiful darbari........................in easy words they have taken the soul out of the bandish....
I am really amazed and Surprised to see why all these Ultra Talented and Awesomely melodious singers are from Pakistan 'Just see this Explosive Talent Powerhouse and voice Quality of this Legendary singer-I would personally like to meet him and watch his each and every stage performances if ever I get an Opportunity , Can Anybody tell me what these singers eat and who are their "GURU'S" ? It is Raag Darbaari one of the most difficult compositions to sing, but Shafqat has made it look so simple.
@kevinconners554 Shafqat Amanat Ali belongs to very enriched family in Sangeet... SHAM CHURASI is his family's name... His father Ustaad Amanat Ali Khan, his brother Asad Amanat Ali Khan was all legends and no doubt Shafqat have carried his family legacy just like RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN did for USTAAD NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN
@kevinconners554 Let me tell you the secret.1000 years experience thats true. Shafquat, Rahat,Ustad Nusrat they all are from singer gharanas. That means since the Mughal eras, their ancestors have been singing in the royal darbars. Lots of the raags were created by them. some of them are from the family of Tan Sen. From an early age, the men of these families do riaz before they even start their Kindergarten. Now that is highly unachievable by a regular, talented, hard working artist
One day Shafqat and AR Rehman would meet, and that day...........

he belongs to one of the two great families who are solely associated with music. His father and brother were amazing singers as well.
