WOW, Sky is the EXACT same as FOXTEL and Austar in Australia, same remote same graphics just different colour (Owned by same company (aussie/ US company). Do Sky get Aussie channels like Lifestyle Network, ABCNEWS24, Australia Network, FSN etc- we get UKTV and BBC News and BBC Knowledge. Looking at that Australian TV is just a more americanized version of UK tv.
You can now use your (if you still have one) OnDigital box for a free alternative to either Freeview, BT Vision or even Freesat HD. Reply to this message with the answer to this question and i will give you a guide on how to do this. The question is 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+1.5+2.7=?
I'm an American who loves British TV. It's way better than American TV and is probably the best in the world. Much better written than American shows.
Now my friend who grew up in the UK says the opposite is true. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
Interesting to see some of the channels we don't get here in the U.S., but I have to ask the question, besides the UK ones, why don't we get some of those those channels(i.e. Paramount Comedy 1/2, BBC News 24) can these channels somehow be picked up in the united states say on c-band or something like that?
Unfortunately, it's not possible to receive any of the European satellites in the US, and visa-versa, as they're all below the horizon. I'm not sure why some of the channels don't have US variants, but BBC News 24 (now News Channel) has an international sister channel, BBC World, which is available at times on BBC America.
only problem i have with tv in the uk is that you have less channels AND you have to pay for the FUCKING tv license. if we had that in the states, i would shit bricks until i die
you know what? i take that back. except the tv license. TV is actually better in the uk then it is here in the united fucking states. i guess that if you had the biggest dish in the world you might be able to pick up Astra 2 from Iowa. the worst part is with the technology is HORRIBLE comapred to UK. the US ALWASE picks the worst tv and radio standards ever made. NTSC SUCKS SHIT compared to PAL. ATSC SUCKS SHIT compared to DVB. VCRs and DVDs and every other format has less recording time. :(
Sky Italia and British Sky Broadcasting are owned by the same company, so the EPG is the same apart from the minor differences, in fact the boxes are the same (My Sky is known here as Sky+, for example). The channels are also very similar, we have Sky News, you have Sky TG24, for example.
They can be brought from many places, such as online stores and computer/electronics stores. There are two different types, PCI ones which require you to open up your computer and fit them in, and USB ones which can plug into any available USB ports on your computer.
Well it's a 99MB file, so if you don't mind downloading it, then I will do that. As for director, the registration for it is currently disabled, which is what I'm waiting upon. I might also look into removing a few channels from it, see if I can get it under 10 mins.
I have recorded a new updated version of this clip which does have a full length Channel 4/E4 'Up Next' promo, however it's over YouTubes 10 min limit, so I need to sort out a director account first.
I have a question how do you record going through every channel i dont think you put a camera in front of your telly because its too clear how do you do it
I had to as some there are a lot of rubbish channels which I didn't think were worth the time to record. Also, the Discovery channels messed with my DVD Recorder due to copy protection, and I don't have Sky Sports.
Depends on whether I'm paying for all those shopping, gambling and the other channels. If I am, then yes. If I'm only paying for the good channels, then no.
Here in the US, Disney owns both ABC and ESPN. We now get "ESPN on ABC", where it's their graphics and presentation, except for when the commentators say "ESPN on ABC" when going to a commercial. In other words, "Monday Night Football" left ABC for ESPN, but the advertising revenue and what not still goes to Disney like it had been doing. Disney also has The Disney Channel and ABC Family on nearly every cable system while SoapNET is available on some other services.
What I noticed: A clip of a Hasselhoff commercial. (How IS he so big in Europe?) 2-What is that ABC1 service? (Same circle/letter bug we get here!) Otherwise, it looks like you get a lot of our cable services there. :)
At the moment Hasselhoff is in the UK and they are making a big deal about it, so he's now on all the Pipex adverts (they are an ISP). As for abc1, it's a network run by abc/disney broadcasting a lot of the comedy and dramas from abc.
I thought the VH1 Classic bit was a promo

Wrong! you can't get Astra2 in the US because the angle in the sky is lower and target area is Europe.
