i had a 2.5 litre ferrari engine fitted in my 91 fiesta rs turbo it was a great little car but then came the rust fords rust worse than any other car ive ever seen the whole body frame collapsed but when it was younger it was fucking awesome 0 to 60 in 6 seconds and 155 mph top speed and very very loud sounded like a spitfire coming down the road just a shame ford didnt rust proof the old cars like they do today
Totalguy, how do you mean there was no such thing as an ST500?! The Focus ST500 was a limited edition model made by ford in Oct/Nov 2007. Only 500 of these vehicles were ever made for the UK market only, hence called the ST500.
theres no such thing as a focus ST500 why do people feel the need to add their own names to cars? its like me calling my diesel a ST180 just because of the modifications and power it puts out but i aint like that.

I currently have an ST500 which i have had for 3 years. I also have a black series 2 RS Turbo in my garage on a G reg which is a 1990-91. The difference is the focus is more controlled and managable hen's minable turbo lag, But i still love my RS cos although it was a 1600 cvh turbo it was and still is a worthy machine that makes you want to have fun especially when your embedded in them red flek recaro seats with extensions.
I wouldnt swap my RS for any ST! for one it wont depreciate as much as the ST and the power delivery is amazing, you floor it low down and you have to wait for the power to kick in at 3k revs (not like a type r waiting for 6k lol) but you just feel the torque build up as the turbo starts spooling up. In the ST theres power everywhere, you dont get that big turbo feel. Does sound much better tho! go for the RS mate you wont regret it lol
You would be happy with either car tho both are great, rs is generally more fun to drive, st is alot easier to live with, depends what your after really lol
Id vouch for you on that, i had a 182 yea was really quick but the interior is shit, no other word for it! I now own a focus rs mk1 and interior quality is not bad not brilliant compared with german rivals and handles alot like a track car, suspension is fairly hard on country roads but livable. My dad owns the foucs st, interior is much better than my rs and is very comfortable on country roads, much easier to live with and is very close in a straight line to.
@RSTBADBOY i ment to put st1. you cant give a opionon on a car unless you have drieven one i think. mazda is'nt a ford ford just own 33% of mazda they dont use ford parts. the ford felt cheap inside but bare in mind i was i only in if for about 15 mins. no car gets a shit review they get plus's and cons they might say more about the cons rather than plus's if the review bloke doesn'nt like it but every review ive read up on they say the same, loads of kit and power faster than a golf gti ect.
@RSTBADBOY i know my mate has a 182 and i have driven a st in a test driveit was a toss over between a astra vxr focus st3 or mazda 3 mps and the mazda for me was the best more kit and power for your money than the rest
@RSTBADBOY my mazda is a 2.3 turbo 4 pot and so much more powerfull and faster i had a go of a ST and was really disapointed like, really cheap inside and just not that fast at all aparntly a clio 182 will have the edge on a ST, well thats what ive bean told of a 182 owner
