I agree with you totaly, rats are awsome. I have had 7 rats in total and they are just so adorable and NEVER bite. They are clean and sooo friendly. You have one of the best pets for a young baby like Tripp. Oh, do they sit on your shoulder because rats love that ? :)

Well.. like any animal, it's all about how you raise them. If you raise a dog to attack, it will. If you don't handle your rats often and they aren't comfortable around ppl, they might bite. Like any pet.

I totally know what you mean and I completely agree... I am already worried about my MIL's dog when I have a baby because she hasn't been trained properly. I think you said (and I could be wrong) that they don't ever bite I just wanted to say that sometimes they do... I totally love you guys and not trying to start anything I promise :)

i ahve a question . me and my husband are the same ago as ya'll and we are 8 months pregnant as you might already know but im not sure how our social life is going to be once the baby gets here . my social life right now is well none becasuse no one likes to hang otu with a pregnant woman that is limited to doing things but before pregnancy we always held parties at our house and we went out and partied offten i wanted to know how your your guy's social life changed if it changed at all

Our social life hasn't changed too much. Only because we've always been home-bodies. We aren't partiers. We usually like to just watch movies and hang out with family. So we still have family over all the time and go to their houses, but we've never been crazy party people or anything lol

Yeah dont worry about Tripp not walking yet...my first daughter didnt want till she was 13 months old. But my 2nd daughter is 10 months old and she started walking a week before she turned 10 months old...i thing its because shes trying to keep up with her big sister...lol. So all baby walk in there own time...he will get it soon. Hes just too cute! I love the rats too....there adorable! =)

Does Tripp nap in his cot? And if so do you put him in there awake and does he just go off to sleep? Tripp sounds like he is the most perfect sleeper! My little man ALWAYS wakes at 5am no matter what time he goes to bed!!

Yes, he's been sleeping in his crib since he was 6 months. Naps and at bedtime. And we always put him down awake, but he usually goes right to sleep. We trained him that way lol! From early on, we would put him down while he was awake, but drowsy. That way he'd learn to fall asleep on his own.

Sorry to hear about all of the negativity you're getting about your lovely ratties. Rats are so wonderful. People get scared so easily based on preconceived notions about things they just don't know about. However, that's no excuse for them to be imposing it on you! I think that rats are a perfect first pet for your son. They are safe, clean, smart, low-maintenance, and emotionally intelligent.

No and I don't suggest it. Neither do any doctors. It's dangerous to put rice cereal in a baby's bottle because it's easy for them to choke on it.

My kids walked at 10 months and 22 months so huge difference. My son stood and cruised from the time he was 10 months til finally at 22 months he walked.

OK SO RaTS AE Awesome and ya and walking lauren my little girl did the thing with walking holding onto fingers and then sitting as soon as we let go until she was 16 months then she just took off oh and that was when her baby sister was 6 days old ya so its all good every baby is different lol gosh :)

I have 15 month old twins. One boy and one girl. My little girl didn't start walking until she was 14 months old and my son is still not walking at 15 months old. So no worries babies do grow and develop at their own pace, you can never judge your baby's actions and what they are doing by looking at someone else's. Tripp is adorable btw. =)

I do have a question for you. Is there a reason why you and Layton chose Tripp as your son's name? It's cute.

Thank you! And yes, Tripp is a nickname. He's named after his Dad and Grandpa. Since he's the third, he goes by Tripp. Like short for triple :o)

My son didn't start walking until like 12 or 14 months. He would rather crawl then walk! It will come in time....a wore out saying for parents, BUT it's the truth!

I like the rats! I've always heard good things about them being such good pets! YAY for the rats :) Are you hoping Tripp will be out of diapers or at least potty training before you guys have another one? I'm sure you've said this before, but I can't remember sorry!

i told everyone at 4 weeks aftering taking the test in the middle of the night...next time i'm going to make a cute story to go with it...like sending onsies saying i love daddy...grandma...ect...ect... i just phoned everyone and told my husband and that was that lol nothing cute. My brother and I used to have rats as pets when we were younger and we were playing with them on the couch and my brother dropped one and in went into the couch and we never found it again. Ahhh! That's good you have those balls when you are cleaning the cage & be careful on the couches! :) :)

I just don't get what the big deal is. Rats are really clean, friendly and a great pet for if you are renting. While I personally wouldn't get a rat, I have family members who have had them previously and they are nothing to be scared of. I wouldn't be suprised if they are cleaner than dogs!

He is pretty stinky lol but I bathe him and clean his cage every 2 days to keep the smell under control. Our son, Jaxson, almost 9 months old, also goes to sleep around 7 and is up around 7!! He takes 2 naps, most generally, every day. First one around 10 and the second around 2 for about 1 - 2 hours each! Funny how children make their own schedules like they do! Also.. want to thank you for recommending the Baby Mum -Mum snacks... our son LOVES them!! I swear he could probably eat the whole box :) haha. Thank you for your wonderful videos - I have been following since your pregnancy and mine!
