@EgregiouslyPutrid Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
IMHO, Titans are the best villains in Universal Century. I like how they color many of their grunt MS, and their uniforms make them look like badass villains. Plus, I love to hate them. I know Zeon was definitely not a good guy organization, but Titans are 99% pure evil. 1% is the very small number of well-intentioned Titans like Emma Sheen and Addis. Even after Gryps Conflict was over, the remnants formed New Decides to continue the earth supremacy movement.
Actually, I think Titans were created with "bad" intention. Though this series didn't make it clear (like not fully explaining what the secret deal between Federation top leaders and Cima was about), Actually, considering that Jamitov Hymem and Bask Ohm kinda partially let the Operation Stardust happen, it seems to me that they got an excuse to create an oppressive anti-Spanoids thugs squad called Titans.
BTW I remember watching this for the first time and getting chills down my spine. Seriously, 0083 is hands down the most underrated gundam series ever.
Well, we know Kou Uraki was kinda sent away for imprisonment until Federation erased all records of GP project out of embarassement thus clearing all charges, Keith refused to join the Titans, and Synapse was executed.
For my own peace of mind, I'll just assume the majority of the Albion's crew leave the Titans later on when they see what a horrible group it really is....Monsha would probably stay with the Titans though. Wouldn't it be great if he were one of the random Titan grunts destined to be casually killed by Kamille or Quattro?
@LelouchVsGundam Since they were mostly bridge crew and if the captain of the ship was still a hardcore Titan, the crew might not have even had the chance to defect like Emma and Bright. Kou (and Keith I guess) got extremely lucky since they must likely stayed with the normal Federation as test-pilots (possibly even up to the Londo Bell days).
@LelouchVsGundam That would be fitting for Monsha. I agree with you, I believe the Albion joined the AEUG, after all the Titans later ordered for all of the Pegasus Classes destroyed, as the crews of them tended to turncoat.
@LelouchVsGundam Many Titans and Earth Federation soldiers eventually left for the AEUG right before and during the Gryps War. Blex Forer (the leader of the AEUG) was formerly a high ranking Earth Federation official.
@LelouchVsGundam If you play the Gihren's Greed series, the Albion's pilots are one of the default characters. If you play as Char's Neo Zeon they're back in the Federation.
They all look so happy, enjoying thier new uniforms and such...
The most horrifying thing in these prequels and such, seeing all the happiness and joy in a new era of "peace", is knowing full well what happens in the future and what will become of them.
@XINKAI I'll take this question (and I really recommend watching Zeta, it is the best gundam)
have you ever heard this phrase
"Those who fight monsters should take care that they never become one. For when you stand and look long into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you."
to fight zeon they took up the tactics of zeon. They became jackbooted thugs, gassing innocent colonists and even dropping a colony on a moon city for insufficient loyalty. Plus they couped the fed's military
the movies for first gundam (0079) are what a lot of people use as a jumping off point into UC and really cut out a lot of the filler but you miss some of the little stuff but overall is reccommended
the zeta movies feel like they cut out a little too much, and the jumping from old to new animation is a little jarring at times, plus they majorly change the ending to be... well happier I guess. So they're something that would probably be better after the series.
I actually like the Titans because even though they're corrupt and brutal, they're also quite skilled and actually seem to be able to do well against Zeon's forces. If it hadn't been for AEUG's existence, they stood a good chance of repelling Neo-Zeon's invasion of the Earth Sphere......
@hhamor Yeah but that was more of a thing to get rid of AEUG sort of like the non aggression pact between Germany and Russia made in 1939. Once AEUG was gone, they would have turned on each other, trust me.
I'll bet that there were many people in both the Titans AND Neo-Zeon who were pissed that their leaders tried to enter a pact with each other and were glad that it failed......
@371312 Yeah, that's why you never get the feeling that 0083 is finished, you know what i'm saying? Knowing full well what would happened to the Titans, and the horror of their actions in Z Gundam. Hence why it's better to watch Z Gundam after 0083 even when there's very few continuity between the two.
I liked how Bask Ohm was still shown as an evil bastard even before the Gryps Conflict in Zeta Gundam. And that the new captain of Albion at 0:39 is not Synapse, as he got court martial and reportedly got executed from what I heard, while Kou was lucky enough to be still alive when he got cleared of charges when Project GP that embarrassed Earth Federation was erased from record. BTW, Monsha is a perfect role model of a Titan. An asshole with shaky ideology in dealing the spacenoids.
@Kanuskiz You got it . Everything you just said is precisely why I love Gundam 0083. It's also why the Titans were my favorite villains: it made the "good guys" from the first Gundam series look so evil >:).
@Kanuskiz you sure thats the albion? looks more like an alexandria class to me and we all know who that fellow is and he ain't no captain thats the guy behind the titans
but we only really see him dressed in zeta he may well have just been inspecting the construction of the ship and his new troops, because it does look a lot like him from the back with the grey hair falling back and all

First we get conquered and occupied by Zeon and then we get a space colony dropped on our mass granary thus insuring that we'll starve!! Do the writers hate us North Americans or something?
well Australia got a colony drop, and in later Universal Century they hit Ireland & other places. Also note those Operation British Targets were original Jaburo in the Amazon rainforest.
But from what i've heard from someone, it's leftover Japanese anger from WWII
You think that's bad? Watch Gundam Seed when ZAFT aims their GENESIS @ "North American Continent, East Coast" then apecify "Earth, Atlantic Federation Capital,Washington".
@Warsie So basically, they're mad at us for what happened in World War II? I'm sorry that many of their civilians died in the war but they shouldn't be so petty as to make North America into a big bullseye to be targeted whenever some faction of maniacs comes to power in Gundam.....
@DarkReborn If you look at the base near where it hit it actually appears to be in Ontario, Canada. At least that is the impression I got from the 'Ont.' on the sign.
@Waffeln2sind2gut Of course they count in my eyes! I was merely saying how the writers of gundam seemed to be making a target out of North America. Zeon and ZAFT did target other areas too, I was just pointing out how North America gets targeted a lot is all.
@girlgarde I think when gundam was originally made it was actually a self-reflective criticism of Japan's violent imperialist past. People always draw lines between the nazis and zeon, but I think they are closer to WWII Japan. That being said, 0083 doesn't seem to be inspired by any history, but seems like a chilling prediction/parallel to modern terrorism (colony drop -> 9/11?) and the typical responses by big powers (proactive/aggressive counter-terrorism -> Titans?)
That's exactly what I thought. Operation Stardust could be fictional equivalent of 9/11 and Titans is the equivalent of Bush Administration's aggressive policy towards Iraq and Terrorists.
Finally, thanks for uploading this. I've looking for this scene for a long time. I would have preferred the original version but this one is good as well. Always loved this scene and Bask's speech, it gives out an inspirational feel despite of it's tyrannical implications.
