When iwas a kid, I played Pokemon first version game. I fell in love pokemon after that. Abt, 6 years old, I played Sapphire and UNTIL NOW, IT ROCKS! Torchic was my partner. This year, my age was 15. And still playing Sapphire. IMMA PROVE TO YOU GUYS, SAPPHIRE VERSION IS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The Hoenn region will always hold a special place in my heart... from the struggles of trying to beat my rival, to the triumph of beating elite four for the first time, and even catching the last pokemon necessary to completing the pokedex. They will never make pokemon the same... :(
As a kid, my first game was Pokemon Yellow, but my first TRUE game was Sapphire as I was finally old enough to understand the plot and how to actually train pokemon (got Sapphire when I was 8, yellow when I was 6). Ah...I still remember rushing into the car after exiting Walmart and turning on Sapphire in the car, HELL I even remember impatiently waiting for my mom to pick out her make-up whilst in the Walmart. Nostalgia is a bitch and a half.
I am an original pokemon fan :D started from red/blue/yellow :') i was only four and kicked ass XD but I must say my favourite game is ruby/sapphire/emerald
@jordere555 Yes but Black and White's pokemon suck!!Diamond and Pearl's pokemon are better.Plus the music in Black and White is really awefull!.....Specialy the rival's themes or the wild pokemon battle......:(
@Marinaforever27 except that the undella town in winter it probably one of the greatest pokemon music pieces ever :D but yes most of black and white pokemon sucked ass
I find it so strange that people are now nostalgic about G3 games. It seems like such a short time ago that they came out. Don't get me wrong, I -loved- R/S/E, but my true nostalgia is reserved for Blue.
Hey, it aint weird at all! Pokemon Gold was actually my first of the franchise, but I never really understood what to do back then. I was only 4 at the time. Two years later, Gen 3 came out, and THAT was started actually playing, and understanding the game. Back then, I was only in first grade. Now, I'm a Freshman in High School, and I look back at all the times I'd come home from school, and rush straight to my GBA, and just turn this on. It seemed like yesterday, I swear! :')
Gives me nostalgic shivers on the back of my head and neck.. such a great, nostalgic song:) The team who worked on the music for this game, are amazing. Genius.
I'm old enough to have seen 'em all come out/played them all, but I remember this one in particular because it sort of signified the beginning of a handheld gaming revolution. It was in color, /real/ color, the GBA SP could close, open, and be charged, and the characters started becoming more multi-dimensional. I was in fourth grade when this came out, and I was jealous of my twin sister for having the special collector's coin from reserving her copy. =p
Ruby was the first game I played when I was still a little kid. Hearing this music again makes me want to roam Hoenn once again with my trusty Mudkip at my side. So peaceful....
I decided to look up if someone actually posted some of the music from the two games and highly doubted any would be up and to find that this is actually up is so awesome, and damn I can connect to so many of the comments, yoshinosakura, you're so awesome!! Much love
This is where I started for pokemon games, this brings back memories. Memories of how pissed I was I couldn't get any of the Johto pokemon without colliseum.
Man I really miss this... was I the only one who obsessively played pokemon under my covers at night? This music really brings back some memories.. in fact, I think I'm going to go play it now.. if i can find my charger.. -.-
Wow, I'm in tears. I got this game the first Easter I didn't have my grandfather, and we were all there for each other. I still had my grandmother then too. Great game. Didn't mean to be a debbie downer, I was just immediately reminded of Easter vacation at the beach with my family. Love forever <3
Sapphire is the only pokemon game that will ever hold nostalgia for me, as I never got the previous games until recently and I was too old by the time colosseum came out for it to leave any nostalgic effects. They pretty much ruined pokemon with diamond and pearl. Thanks for uploading. Are you using a bass boost in the recording or has the bass always been this loud relative to the rest of the music?
Apparently, most people have not listened gameboy/ds game music with headphones/earbuds. It's not that the speakers on the systems sucked - which they kinda did... Every gameboy color had speakers that would degrade over time - but if you really listened to the music through that audio jack, all the nuances of the music stood out.
That's what I love about rediscovering old game music. :)
@GooBootheWarrior You young whippersnappers with your computer boxes. I grew up playing Pokémon Blue, the first Pokémon title ever to come out. But yes, Ruby/Sapphire was a delight to play even though I was already 16(?) years old when I played it.
@GooBootheWarrior I know this is super old but yea, the speakers on the console (gameboy or DS) doesn't register as much. But when you plug in earphones it sounds just like this. I was surprised when I played this game 4 years ago.
There was a ginger at my old school who said he threw this game in the bin because he couldn't get past the boy who said there were wild monsters so he couldn't get out.
I love hoenn. Its one of my favorite regions (along with Johto and Sinnoh), Unova was pretty cool, but its the same thing. Route, bridge, route, city, route, forest or cave, city, route etc..
I love this game so much. It was the last game I think, before pokemon to me started to become less EPIC and EXCITING. I still love the games now, at 18. I have friends who play it as well :P The songs in this game are so beautiful, and this one is just gorgeous!
i've only played through this game once because i loved my pokemon so much i couldn't get rid of them! why couldn't gameboys have memory cards or somethin liek that like psp :(
Good memories of Pokemon Emerald. Even with HeartGold and SoulSilver out, Emerald is still my favorite Pokemon game! This isn't really nostalgic for me though, because I still play it.
RSE was probably the best generation for me cause all my cousins played it as well so there was a lot of bonding and memories there as well. My cousins comment on how Mays butt protrudes still makes me laugh.
@SoaringReality It's weird for me because I started playing this when I was 16, when the GBA was dead, but it makes me feel nostalgic too. However, I was in the right demographic for the first wave of pokemon fandom, and even thought I didn't have a gameboy of my own because my parents wanted me to read books instead, and I wasn't particularly interested in video games, I would always watch my friends play Red and Blue on their Gameboy Pockets, and I would collect the cards religiously.
I know exactly what you mean. Man so many good memories. It's like all the times playing this game can never be matched playing other games. I think's it's because I was younger and my mind made everything a little to glorious now that I look back at it. Still, lot's of good memories. XD.
@YodatheJedi12 Interesting. I'm the same way. I got the RBY and GSC generation, but then I skipped RSE and ended up buying it only 4 or 5 months before DPP came out.
I think I do still have a little nostalgia for this song, though. RSE was the first game that had me totally enthralled with the storyline.
@JackBond1234 I've ordered Ruby/Sapphire from ebay though. However they apparently have lots of rare Pokemon in the save file, so I won't actually play through the main game storyline...
@YodatheJedi12 I don't see the point of that... I usually just stop playing at the end because there's nothing left to do. My rare Pokemon are basically abandoned.
All pokemon are the same no matter what generation. I'm pretty sure in the next generation or two, you all will be looking back at this wonderful theme and game and say to yourself how great Hoenn and Sinnoh was back in the days.
You people saying that R/S/E were shit need to seriously shut the fuck up.
Just because R/S/E were the first installments on the Gameboy Advance does it need to be called shit or bullshit? I know Red and blue were the first ones you got to experience in your childhood and it's very nostalgic of you saying that, but you have to admit there are others who's first handheld was the GBA.

@MeowTheMouse God, you posted this comment 2 years ago... still the same feeling, lol. My friends actually started playing all the new Pokemon games on the DS... so if I somehow got the money I could jump right back into it. :D

RSE has better music than GSC did .
GSC music was overrated , except for the champion theme .

to me musics in both gsc and rse are awesome. Typically, the bgm for the first town and the ending theme. they are awesome.
