WordPress Tutorial - Make Static Page Your Home Page -Part 3

Is this tutorial goes the same with the Wordpress 3.0.1?

I tried this, I made a new page, 2 of them, for the home page and blog. I change the 'reading' option, into 'static page' to my custom front page and the 'post page' to my blog page. Then I hide the page, the custom page that I made(?) I tried to hide it and when I refresh it goes blank, but I still can see if I add /blog or /portfolio to the link. I don't have the default 'home page' menu in the option page. >_>

thank you for the video- BUT what if all subpages show, I have gone as far as 4 deep and they still show in the header nav. I know how to comment them out in the sidebar, but have not been able to do so in the header.

How do you remove wordpress comments section when making static pages?

I try this but my button still shows up at the top with my theme. Any ideas why?? It doesnt matter if I make it a sub page it stays there.

Did you ever get an answer to this question? My apologies, if not!

My guess is that you need to create new page. Make that your home page, and then hide the link for that page. Have you selected a static page as your home page yet?
