  • Nice, but is there any player that can browse directories for files?

I'm planning to get an IEC drive, so i would like to store the SID files in different folders.

  • Most definatly an emulated c64. Probably CCS64.

  • This is fucking awesome!

  • Living on a video in 8bit is my fav. soooo sweeeeet! :-D

  • @alibabakus: ?! Are you sure you commented on the correct video? The Boten Anna song certainly was released many years after Frank Bruno's Boxing... and I would think it's not a Hülsbeck track.

  • 11 people prefer the bleeps and blobs of a ZX Spectrum 48k.

  • I love "Living On Video"!

  • is the first song a remix of Basshunter's Now you're gone?

  • Comment removed

  • @Zeandanielz

It does not mean "the boat anna", the song is about a Bot named Anna, who controls download "channels" at dc++ =).

  • Comment removed

  • @Zeandanielz

And the song goes like, "she can ban you, ban you so hard", so really its a song about a bot. I think that the boat in the video is some kind of a diversion to confuse people =) I even remember saying that "isn't this song about a boat, what the hell" to my friend when the song came out =D...just look it up from example wikipedia. I just hate when people state complete bullshit as an hard fact. BTW, great SID's , didn't even know C=64 could produce some of those sounds.

  • @rotokka Thanks for info.. :o) It was very confusing.. fianally it is solved..

  • At long last, the true sound of the SID Chip is heard on youtube!

  • what's the name of the second song(mark oh remix)??

  • Awesome!

  • Any way to use sidplay64 to play mp3s on your PC? How do you do that?

  • The roughness of 8bit sound always sounds more outrageous, hence much better than anything real. Excellent music.

  • Thank You... 4 memoires.

  • It's great to see that is still so much love for this computer.

  • amazing... it sounds much better than in c64 emulator.... listen the first minute from "Fred Vom Jupiter" (specially at 31 secs) 6:35 from youtube video.... and compare it with emulated c64..... no words

  • amazing sound... sounds much better than emulator

  • Loaded the D64 file onto my phone and ran it.

    Works like a charm.

  • Wow.. .Damn..... Ok i need to find my self a C64..

  • What SID chip do you have? Usually, the track has the specific chip number displayed and it requires that chip in order for the track to sound correctly.

  • this sounds so cool :)

  • The Boten Anna remix is awesome, even on winVICE, although it's not quite as.... great.

  • Lol Fred vom Jupiter...

Fred vom Jupiter, Fred vom Jupiter, bleib für immer hier, geh doch nicht fort^^

  • Fook me! U just made my day. Awesome job m8! =D The memories the C64sound bring to life gives me chills down my spine !!! <3

  • No Emulator can produce a sound like the real SID. Thank you for uploading a real SID-tune!

  • This is just to freaking cool!!! You rule dude...

  • Very Nice, Sorry my English is not so got, waht is this for ah program ??

  • @OneTetra The name of the program is "sidplay64" it has to be transferred together with the sid files you want to play to a C64 disk and then you can load the sid player on the C64 and play the sid files.

  • Awesome collection.

  • @Jimster666 take all your favourite music and bounce them as 8-bit :D I tried, not very nice haha

  • Great job!!! Love it!!!!

  • I made a little presentation using my MSSIAH, a homage to two '80s pop culture greats.

Paste title into the bar: QUINCY 64!

  • Einfach megageil!!!! C-64 lebt it rules

  • Einfach super!!Erinnerungen werden wach C-64 lebt!!

  • Hey, do you know of a good C64 emulator? One that would make it possible to play old C64 games on a PC without a joystick?

    What about an Amiga emulator?

  • Thanks.

I found one, CCS64 v3.7 and it is really easy to use. I found a torrent with over 6000 games and I was reliving the old days playing Last Ninja, Microprose Soccer and Wizball. Though sans joystick, I'm crap at them!

  • hach.. rememberme on the old times ;) *schwelg*

    nice

    thank you for the videos

  • I LOVE THIS... ;D

  • Chiptune -> masterpiece of music

  • The SID has such a fat and pure sound.

  • Yes it did. It's hard to believe that a fair number of rival computers were only capable of beeping and clicking, unless they were upgraded.

  • I wish they would have somehow included a SID chip in the Amiga 500/600. PCM is great, but it would have been nice to have a synth chip too...and the SID is awesome.

  • The C64 was setup in a way that (in theory) you could have had something like 64 SID chips installed (The memory associated with the chip was ghosted, so every 64 bytes or so it repeats back to the one single sid chip (the middle address bits were ignored basically)...it would have been interesting to see what could have been done with 4 to 16 sid chips each doing its own instrument.

  • Take a look at MIDIbox SID v2.

  • do ya know the CUS format? it's basically a HI-FI SID which was used for great tunes like hybris and midnight resistance :)

  • so, how do you use it? ive loaded it into CCS64 and nothing works, space just reloads the menu but i cant play any song.

  • lol after theese years the C64's sound synth is one of the best sound systems ^^

  • @flyeralan it's not that our systems suck, it's just that they were even more awesome. And still are!! :D

  • @flyeralan Certaionly one of or not the best synth tool. I recently resdiscoverd an emulator built into LMMS (sequencer and synth tool) and started playign again.

I ned to stop pimping it really or ill prob get done for spam.. but its a brilliant bit of open source software.

  • EPIC !!! I LOVE THIS MUSIC !!!!!!!!

  • great sound on living on a video

  • Tears Don't Lie ...fantastic mix ya've done there :)

  • nice tune =D

    this > Basshunter

    keep on the good work

  • Yes, i like this sound!!!

    give me more!

  • gottes in himmel ¡¡¡¡¡¡ wunderbar besser úber musik games ich have nie geseht

     nichts¡

  • i'm playing gabber nation on vice emulator. good times :)

  • Spelade du musiken igenom SIDet, eller skapade du covers direkt i C64an?

  • Wow man thats hardcore!

  • Living on video is cool

give the link to mp 3

  • thank you very mucho!!

  • pure genius! these makes the best ringtones.

  • hi, is there any chance to get in an mp3 fomat?

    cheers Norbert

  • -download the .d64-image (see description)

-run it on an Emulator and record the audio output or transfer it to a real C64, run it an record the audio output

-convert the recorded files to mp3 (if the recording software does not record directly to mp3)

  • another suggestion is to save the youtube video using one of the many youtube video saving websites or tools and then use the audio from that

  • get the program called Audacity, and you can record it while you listen to anything ....so basically you can get any sound or music into MP3 format.

  • You can also use SidAmp for Winamp and use Diskwriting.

  • Unfortunately, the sid emulation of SidAmp is *FAR* from being accurate. I'd recommend to use SidPlay2.5 instead and save the file as .wav and then convert it to .mp3 :)

  • ...and SidAmp it crashes often and blocks the controls of other plugins.

    Where can I get Sidplay?

  • The repositories.

  • True, it also works for YouTube.

You only have to choose the right channel to record, mostly called "Playback", "Stereo Mix" or "WhatUHear" or something like that.

Remember that some cheap (On-Board) produce Background noise or DC offset when recordig this way.

On very ols systems you can connect the output jack of the soundcard to the input jack (But this produces even more background noise)

  • For those people who do recording this way at the first time:

Have a look at the record meter, that the record signal isn´t too lound, or you´ll get clipping.

  • So he just put the software and .sid files on a floppy and stuck it in the C64? Cool.

I wish I had a MSSIAH cart, because it has built in midi.

  • yes.... You can use a cable, like the XE1541

  • :o awesome!!

  • neue deutsche welle 4 ever!!!

    gut gemacht/well done!

  • woooow nice!!! ;]

  • *downloaded*

I'm keeping this for when I get my c64.

  • Boten Anna would've been awesome on a game back then =P

  • can you get all of them in mp3 or wav to me :)

  • sidoth4 is a site where he converts tunes to MP3

  • sid oth4 in google will find it

  • who made the song "Fred vom Jupiter"?

  • HVSC ftw!!! WOO go zabutom!!!

  • I like 8.04.5 This is for SID and from IT! SID strikes back.

  • glorious, oh glorious sid...

I wonder if my c64 in the other room still powers on

  • trying to find the music for kickstart 2, but all i find are remixes, anyone got any ideas where i can find it, and possibly download it?

  • I just uploaded the music. I posted it here as a video response. You can download sid tunes for free. Search with google for high voltage sid collection and download a free sid player such as sidplay. The sound emulation is pretty ok in my opinion.

  • TO FAVORITES!

  • but i am le tired =(

  • sos un groso!!!!! exelente man!!!!

  • old computers are king.

    no more pentium

  • mark oh remix :3 !!

  • @MageAtYou what's the name of this song?

  • @miccia7581 Marko Albrecht, also knows as Mark 'Oh, with the song Tears Don't Lie. It's a happy hardcore song that came out 94-95, around when happy hardcore became more melodic.

  • Why are some of the songs done on 8580 chips when the 6581 sounds much better?

  • how can you tell?

  • Search for "commodore 64 which SID" in my video files. I made a demonstration video comparing the two chips using a C64 emulator (mainly, VICE64).

*thumbsup*

    GODLIKE!

  • nice collection, good to hear old sid again :) i put this on my favorites.

  • Zabutom is win. He's such a nice guy and an amazing tracker.

  • lov it!

  • I think it's pretty funny that now "living on video" gets a C64 conversion given that the track really is a commercial conversion of what used to be an early Chris Hülsbeck C64 tune.

  • Living on video was originally in the UK charts in 1984, some 24 years ago.

What earlier Hulsbeck tune was similar?

  • Uh ha.

Reviewed the tracks that I thought were the

inspiration for the 'living on video' tune.

True, 'living on video' was there first, I

did not realise the 2006 version was a remake.

    Anyway, Hülsbeck's 1986 'holiday morning'

    borrows from it I think.

  • This is what I hate about remakes. They never give enough credit to the original and try to pretend the done it all themselves. Girls aloud "remade" Jump, originally by the pointer sisters except to my ears it sounds exactly that same and was nothing more than Karaoke with them singing over the top. I guess many young people who dont know about or havent ever heard of the pointer sisters will think what a cool tune girls aloud did.

Im 35 now and hear this type of Karaoke all the time.

  • @HangmanC64 - Yes! But which one??? I was sure this was the loader for 'Frank Brunos Boxing' on the C64 but I cant find it so I'm probably wrong. You sure its made by Hülsbeck?

  • Boten Anna sounds so fat and nasty. Love it.

  • Man you are good.

  • Wonderful:D

  • which SID do you have in your C64? The good old 6581 or the newer one?

  • That's on the video under the heading of "Chip:". It says 6581.

  • no, this is only the information in the SID-File, if it is designed for 6581 or the 85xx , look at other songs in the vid

  • OK, point taken.

  • no way this song! did you make these .sids?

  • I NEED a c64. the most lovely computer ever made.
