the yamaha stagepas sounds waaay better than this thing. it also handles peaks a lot better, and it's louder, and clearer. the xp308i gets reeally hot after a few minutes of use. it's decent for the price, but i'd still go for a yamaha if i can afford it. we did shootouts with gear all the time, and there is a reason some stuff is cheaper. when it comes to pro audio, you don't want to go cheap.
I got these speakers the other day, I must say I am very very impressed with them. I used them in a 70 bay mechanics shop (200ft X 200ft) They are loud, clear and the sound projects very far. The bass is pretty good for something so small. I have only a few problems.
1: no subwoofer output
2: the cables that came with it suck, they have breaks in the cable already so I need to upgrade them
3: no protection when the mixer is stored in the back of the unit Overall, it was well worth it
I tried these but found they weren't very clear for DJing. It might have been because the pair I tested were use though.

Sounds much the same as the Yamaha StagePas 300. Wonder how the two compare to each other?

I have just added a suwoofer to the system and it is very impressive. I used the yorkville ls200p 10 inch powered bandpass one due to its small size.
Matched very well size wise, its carpeted and not abs like the samsons. Has a 35mm pole mount on the top just like the xp308i.
you can run the speaker cable as a pass thru to get signal.

how did you add the subwoofer without a output?

@walkman88us I used a powered subwoofer with a line passthru

Of course. What speaker system would be complete without an Ipod dock...
