It seems like the camera loved that man. And the man loved the camera. Was there any stronger a love.... hahahaha. I wish I could work a room like he did, with a glance and strong confidence!
WOW! WOW! WOW! YUL! This presentation is perfect! The music fit's just right for this dynamite guy! Yul would b e pleased I'm sure! WOW! Yul! Love it! Love you Yul! Rest in peace my brother.....
At 5:04...he is petting a little baby goat, and that is so cool to see a tough man showing kindness...I did something crazy today...I shaved my head..I hope I can get used to this..Yul Brynner is my inspiration...
He, Laurence Olivier, Conrad Veidt, & RIchard Burton were the only 4 actors to scream out that supreme masculine beauty, esp their fine eyes -- to me, when i hit puberty in the early '50s. They were the most beautiful of the contemporary crew. Ea woman, I'm sure, finds the stars of her time, who provide that.
Bravo!!! I loved your presentation. Yul had the most hypnotic eyes and those lips. Can't you just imagine his intense gaze on you. Such a shame that all of that raw, rare talent is gone.
@DramaDon83 I've worn a bald or shaved head for many years and although I like it very much, I certainly don't have Mr. Brynner's striking looks or charisma. He was a bit of an oddity in his day. His looks and manners were unusual for his time, but he was so striking and captivating that he mesmerized his audiences.
Thanks - from a child I admired the abilities of this man in making any film I watched with him in it - magical through his portrayal of the characters. From loving, comical to fearful his range had no bounds - a truly strong presence that sadly though he is no longer with us - that presence shines even in photo's.
Haha, i've never seen him with hair before! :'D He was such a amazingly talented and handsome man! I know i've seen some of his other movies, but I only remember The King and I and Anastasia the most. I really want to watch some of his other works, can anyone recommend something to me? This college student needs a nice romance story! :)
TCM is going to be playing "The Journey" with Brynner and Deborah Kerr on Oct 12, 2009. The director is Anatole Litvak from Anatasia. This was made quickly (4 months) in response to the Russians moving in with tanks to suppress the populist uprising in Hungary. Though Brynner plays a very sympathetic Russian major...he sees a very strong (Anouk Aimee) rebel waiting for him at every turn. Brynner and Kerr are magic together in this one. It's a small intimate film I think you'll love.
Another one I love is "Once More With Feeling"...a romantic comedy...with the great British commediane Kay Kendall. It's quite delicious! And he's very funny.
And of course, Magnificent Seven with he and Steve McQueen is one of the all-time great westerns.
You might not understand why he's often shown with a camera. He was an excellent photographer...professional level...and he usually did all the studio publicity photos for his movies. So all those still shots for King and I, Brothers Karamazov (another movie of his that I love and recommend highly), etc., were all done by him.
Another interesting point is that Brynner was an extremely well-trained actor who meticulously studied his roles till he knew his performance and the film or play better than the director and everybody else involved. Also, he had been a director for several years at CBS in the earliest days of TV so he was as skilled behind the camera as he was in front of it. Thus he and Bergman worked together endlessly during Anastasia - resulting in a Best Actress nomination for her.
Brynner and Kerr did the same on King and I. Brynner told director Walter Lang he would make a second-rate film if he didn't make it the way he told him to do it. When Lang got a nomination for Best Director for it, Kerr sent Brynner a telegram congratulating him on his nomination. Kerr said "His imaginative suggestions and instructions were responsible for turning King and I into a great movie... He had a wonderful way of handling actors...Nothing escapes him...I will always be grateful."
very beautiful man!!!!! his look and his charme make him one of the most interesting actor of the history of cinema.....his eyes are very expressive, he should have been a very kind, gentle, positive man....
He was excellent actor and nobody can't forget that he was very handsome - captivating hard and deep look, beautifully sculptured lips and body! First movie which I saw with this actor, it was "Kings of the Sun" and first thing (OMG!) which me fascinated in him his way of walking then, such virile, majestic (he in this film was in half naked, so his splendid body heightened my impression) like really self-confident guy!
Yul Brynner had the most penetrating intensive looks, he had that mixed beautiful russian-gypsy blood that's why it made him look so EXOTIC, he had the most luscious beautiful lips I've ever seen in a moviestar and he was so Attractive, virile, manly looking
in other words, he was sooo hooottt!!, he sure looks like Vladimir Puting the Ex-president of Russia, which I find him attractive as well.
Yul Brynner had to be the most sexiest, hottest and handsomest male star in his time. He's been dead like 23 years and I 'm still fascinated by him. He was my first movie star crush. Like I said before I never saw this man ever take a bad picture, He's so beautiful. The camera really LUVS him and he luv the camera back (he's an awesome photographer). He was a great actor and a wonderful talent. May he rest in peace.
oh my god! He was also my first movie star crush!! I think he is one of the most talented star in the world. I haven't seen any bad photo of him either. May he rest in peace.
@parttimelover2day I fell in love with him the first time I saw him in the King and I with Deborah Kerr. I was maybe 10 years old and didn't really understand sex appeal but the chemistry between them was so clear and I loved him. He has always been my perfect example of what a man should be like. He was and is my definition of male beauty!!
Nice Video. If you need any help getting your video/channel exposed I use a site called Tubeviews . Net They have helped like 5 of my videos get ranked on the first pages.
