They didn't mention the two main breakdowns of high and low risk HPV. Sounds like this woman probably got the low risk strain. Surprising that the doctors left out a fundamental element: that high risk is more likely to cause cancer, while low risk expresses itself in warts and is less likely to cause cancer. Still, it was good to hear a specialist admit that there is a lot we don't know yet about HPV.

@poknatcmat I've read that the body can clear certain strains from the body. Other strains are suppressed by the immune system and can randomly have outbreaks as warts or abnormal pap-smears.

@br8shyaq8 when I was first diagnosed with HPV in August of 2008 I was so scared and I said the same thing Why me! My OB/GYN called me to tell me it came back abnormal due to that. She me I will not die and it's treatable and it can go away naturally on it's own. She also told me it's so common alot of women have it.
She told me it doesn't mean that I have cervical cancer and mine wasn't bad I had the low grade kind and I didn't have no warts.

Gargasil has never been proven effective. First, it isn't known whether or not the women in the studies were ever exposed to HPV. Second, all of the women who didn't receive the vaccine remained cancer free. Third, Gardasil was never tested on school aged girls, only on older women. There is no proof whatsoever that Gardasil does a damn thing to ward off cervical cancer. What has been proven is bad side effects.
Here's a shocker. HPV has never been conclusively proven to cause cervical cancer.

They didn't mention the two main breakdowns of high and low risk HPV. Sounds like this woman probably got the low risk strain. Surprising that the doctors left out a fundamental element: that high risk is more likely to cause cancer, while low risk expresses itself in warts and is less likely to cause cancer. Still, it was good to hear a specialist admit that there is a lot we don't know yet about HPV.

So, if the test of a person was positive that she has a high risk HPV (causing cancer) & CIN 1..
After having a LEEP procedure done and examining the sample.. they said they did't see anything positive at all!!!
Is there any chance that this procedure was done uncorrectly (not cutting the whole lining of the cervix.. cause I read in the report that they took from the upper and lower parts only.. )!?
Or is there any chance the the pap smear or the biopsy & colposcopy wasn't accurate!?

I understand how difficult it could be for people with HIV to live with HPV, given that their immune systems are suppressed, but is it impossible for them to clear it, like everyone else? I know it never leaves the body, but it can be cleared. It has now been shown that circumcision increases the risk for HPV. Hence circumcision may increase the risk of both penile and cervical cancer by increasing the spread and acquisition of HPV. The practice of circumcision could very well be a contributing factor to the prevalence of HPV in the U.S.

Most studies on HPV performed before 2006 had poor controls and relatively small study groups. In order to clear up this confusion, a recent 2008 study on HPV had an enormous study group of almost nine thousand men in the United States. This is currently the largest study on circumcision and HPV ever performed in the U.S. And since the study was performed in the U.S., the results are directly applicable to people who live in the U.S.

A meta-analysis Performed by D.r. Robert Van Howe in 2006 found no significant association between circumcision status and HPV infection. "The medical literature does not support the claim that circumcision reduces the risk for genital HPV infection" (10)

A classic 1993 study on HPV, came up with the conclusion that:
"Uncircumcised men had a lower prevalence of genital warts then circumcised men... The presence of the foreskin may confer non specific protection of the proximal penis from acquisition of HPV infection."(9)

Genital warts, also known as human papilloma virus (HPV), is the most common STD in the U.S. Its association with circumcision, has been a heavily debated topic for many years. I have HPV! i was tested twice for it last year! i dunno how i got it.i'am always safe.my doctors make me feel like a dirty and bad person cuz i have it.they make me feel stupid.i have only had 2 partners in my entire life.i'am married now i have been with my husband for 7 years now.he was tested for it and is clean thank god.im scared to go for my follow up cuz i know with my luck i may still have it.i have been very depressed.im trying not be.i just honestly wish i knew how i got it.

We all have cancer in our bodies and as we get older it becomes activated so then what should we be freakin out now no!! unfortunately iy you sleepwith anyone who has had more than one partner you can catch it. all hookers prob have it etc good news ur imune system clears it up unlike herps or other std's

@duckfeet428 HPV isn’t curable and remains in the system of an infected person indefinitely once it enters the body.The new vaccine doesn’t provide 100% protection of all HPV forms, but is successful in protecting from the four most common strains of the virus. Although there is no cure available yet, it can be treated.

@poknatcmat I've read that the body can clear certain strains from the body. Other strains are suppressed by the immune system and can randomly have outbreaks as warts or abnormal pap-smears.
I was just confused because the video was talking about interviewing her about her struggle with HPV, but her last smear says it was gone...so I thought it didn't really count. But I suppose if it stays in her system for life, then it makes more sense. Thanks :)

HPV can kill! It is a big deal HPV is directly linked to cervical cancer. If people think that they are fully protected by wearing a condom they are regrettably deceived, its contracted by genital to genital contact. Let me ask you can a condom protect your testicles and what about the woman's labia is there any protection there?

That same 'cauliflower' stereotype. Stupid. Most HPV warts are small, harmless looking warts. Like, one wart. Still gross but many people think, "Oh, well I don't have a head of cauliflower on my business... so I'm safe." Wrong!
And condoms do NOT protect from HPV because condoms do not protect all your genitals. Not just some "well nothing is 100%" gibberish.

@br8shyaq8 when I was first diagnosed with HPV in August of 2008 I was so scared and I said the same thing Why me! My OB/GYN called me to tell me it came back abnormal due to that. She me I will not die and it's treatable and it can go away naturally on it's own. She also told me it's so common alot of women have it.
She told me it doesn't mean that I have cervical cancer and mine wasn't bad I had the low grade kind and I didn't have no warts.

HPV is not curable (though genital warts are treated) and high-risk types lead to cancer in about 20% of cases. All you can do is follow your doctors orders and treatment for the rest of your life.

But I STILL feel bad for going to Amsterdam I can't believe that doctor said it's ok!!!!!! He thought that because I wasn't gay and wasn't into anal sex, I got warts from bad medical practice, dirty enema.

OMG! I was diagnosed with HPV anal warts, deep in my anus. The doctor said, it's ok, I don't have to tell anyone, I can have sex, it's nothing to worry about! I had sex with 4 prostitutes, with protection in Amsterdam as I had anal warts deep down me, and took the doctors advice.
But then I did research, and I thought "oh shit." Since then I've not dated, nothing and also, I did all tests, and came out negative for 20 HPV strains, anal pap smear was ok as cells were fine, plus warts are gone.

Yes , but your body does not make the amount you get in an hour long IV drip . I have seen whooping cough cured in a 4 year old girl in an hour ! She had her fevr go from 103 to 99 in 30 minutes of a drip . She was skipping when she left the clinic . Her parents called a week later and said she had been perfectly fine since the IV .
