@MajorWilliams3 That's Decals, all model kits come with them, of course you're stateside so that'd be Deeeee-Cals, technically, the Aussies and Brits are right, theres only one E
@spidiq8 As an Aussie myself i personally hate the pronounciation 'deckles', ive always known it as decals. I think if its supposed to be pronounced the aussie way it should be spelled 'deckles'. But thats just me...
@UltraGokin Let's see you make one post using your real ID, as if ( opps, that's condescending ), & as for douchebag know it all, pretty sure I am talking to one ( opps, that's arrogant ), guess you got me, cannot do it, lol
well i love your videos they help alot but im on my 5th model its a F18 and i would love to make this my first realistic looking model and i only have hand painting tools and no airbrush any ideas on how to weather certain area's of my model?

Hey numbnuts, if you plan insulting someone, at least lear how to spell the insult correctly, lol
As far as what you claim, why not start out with a flat coat of clear coat to start with, or do all YouTube hobbyist like making things more complicated than what need be?
An old friend of mine once told me the reason to why it's better to use a gloss varnish first, followed up by a matte varnish, but I can't recall it now. I'm fairly sure there's a reason to it though.
As for spelling, no reason to toss remarks about it around. :) Especially since you had an error or two in your first post.
You are correct, modellers like myself use products like "Future floor polish" to protect paintwork during various stages of painting.
1 coat to prep for decals as a smooth surface prevents silvering of the decals,
1 coat over the decals to prep for weathering then, depending on the weathering effect you are trying to achieve, you would hit the model with a final flat coat.
sphinxrising58 should not be so quick to judge subjects he obviously knows nothing about, let alone spelling.
Because decals and wahses should only be applied on gloss coats. You should at least research or know how to build and paint a kit before mouthing- off.
@Phantomshock: Kits are for the talentless & lil kids, I make models from sctratch, & they look every bit as good or better than any model you will ever buy, fact, lol
@sphinxrising58 Seriously? Are you really calling modelers talentless? You obviously haven't seen very many models. You would have to be a complete moron to call guys like Andrew Dextras and Brett Green. 60% or more of the overall effect of a model lies withing the stages of modeling that come AFTER the construction. While i do give you a LOT of credit for being able to scratchbuild, you are not in the least bit justified to call modelers that build kits as "talentless"
@sphinxrising58 if you`re gonna open your mouth at least know what you`re talking about, gloss coats are for aplying decals and washes, then you give a final flat coat. I bet you dont have a quarter of the talent this guy has.
I love the better-than-the-rest quality of your videos, and you are very professional in your deliverance, but why are your videos so short and why do you waste so much time talking? This video is 4 minutes, and you spend almost a minute (25%) talking about another video you already made. more action less talk please.
How much budget do I need to start my own scale modelling kit? Airbrushes are expensive not to mention the price of an air compressor.

How do you get your paint so neat and thin? Whenever i try it i always screw up my entire model:(

OK, the guy talks about making the models look " realistic ", but then goes & sprays them with high gloss clear coats.
Show me one authentic WW-II aircraft that had a high glass paint on it.
Pont being, if you are going to do it, do it right, or do not bother doing it at all.

Most good ones cost around $150-200. I would reccomend the Harder and Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1, I've had mine for 3 years and still works great.
