  • Hamish Stuart is a bar manager at the Anchor Inn in Faversham

  • 4 people are from a different planet...

  • 4 people just don't get it...

  • Descobri o Hamish Stuart durante a turnê do Flowers In The Dirt, do Paul McCartney...que banda impecável!

  • I love this!!!

  • FUNKY SYMPHONY...

  • GREAT HAMISH! you are 10 years younger than Paul... McCartney should have you in his current band... a pity... too much shadow for him I think ;-) ♪ same goes for Robbie McIntosh..!

Hey man...join Allan Gorrie and the other guys ♫!

    Average White BAND 4 ever!

Hey McCartney/Macca... don`t take it serious!♪ you are an immense/GREAT musician

and along James Jamerson... one of my mentors :-) !

    Peace

    P.M

  • he should get back with allan gorie..its SAD....

  • After i listen how Candy Dulfer is playing this piece, this video look a little bit awful! But it is ok!

  • Does Hamish still keep in touch with former bandmates ALan and Onnie? or are they estraged?

  • Thats my dog....JAM MASTER .....Hamish Stuart!!!!

  • I love the embellishments the drummer and bassist use, especially starting 50 seconds in. What a groove!

  • Comment removed

  • I love Hamish but this is truely awful! What was going on at the start? There is so much overplaying that the groove is totally destroyed. You have to see AWB (in the UK this week) to hear this played properly.

  • Saw AWB on tour: Yes absolutely awsome. The fine new members are great too. How did they get Jack Nocholson to sing in teh band? :) I like this too, though. Spy is a great bass player.

What's happening at the start? Well my guess is that Hamish forgot that the drummer was going to click it in and he just starts. The rest pick it up as best they can. Fine recovery.

  • This isn't that bad...

The version from AWB's "Soul and the City" is awesome. The tenor solo is freakin perfect. If only I could mash the best parts from different versions...

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • If you don't recognize this, you have just arrived from another planet!!!!!!!

  • haha this is my uncle!

  • hamish stuart is your uncle? :O

going to see him tomorrow ^_^

  • Spy Austin

  • @a7xthereverenda I used to work with a girl in Edinburgh (claire I think her name was) who claimed to be his neice!.....

  • @neviatha. Well im not claiming hes my uncle. Im saying he is my uncle! because he is. Im one of his 4 nefews. he owns 2 pubs down in england one called the three mariners. I can assure u he is my uncle!!

  • lol.... i believe you don't worry!

  • @a7xthereverenda I believe you also coz I was there today watching him and the band play and it was spellbinding as usual!!

  • Who's that FUNKY bass player?

  • Spy form Sam Kelly's Station House

  • @gittahfiend

This is Spy Austin. One of the best Bass players.

Together with Sam Kelly on the drums - The motor and the gear !!!

    Michael

  • it's called moare music btw!

  • Hamish is returning with his music festival on the 12th/13th September 2009 at The Three Mariners inn, Oare, Near Faversham, Kent, UK!

  • Bro in law played with this guy unt cohorts at Duncan Of Jordanstone 60`s He TOLD me they were good!!! Now I`m a believer!!

  • Great!!

Plz check out my meeting with Hamish.

    Regards

  • excellent bass line!

  • Do you know the name of the bass palyer??? I know him but I can't remember. Thanks

  • is that david spade playing trumpet?

  • Actually, it's Mark Wahlberg

  • actually it's matt winch

  • i think it's Chris Aherne from the young vicars?

  • I love the Internet! This is so cool! Love to hear this guy sing with Paul McCartney as well.

  • Hamish is one sexy wanker.

  • qu'est que il faits? saxophone``

  • i remember Hamish the most from when he played with Paul ie McCartney...and naturally, love him.

  • Esto hay que escucharlo varias veces para apreciar a cada uno de los músicos, que hacen cosas muy buenas.

Saludos desde Argentina, del interior, no de Buenos Aires.

    Raúl.

  • the legend....thats all.....

  • he's a great musician, apparently he gave mccartney one on the chin when was being an asshole, guess mccartney needs one sometimes

  • He's such a nice guy. Served me half a pint last night at his pub in Oare. Looking forward to his 'Moare Music' 13th & 14th Sept. with the All Stars, Jim Mullen....

  • Ringo's All Star Band did this song tonight in Portland! OH MAN they were GREAT!!

  • OMG, he's been on Thursday playing with Ringo's All-Starr Band. He, Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Billy Squier and Gary Wright really rocked that night (don't think I forgot Ringo!). They played this song.

  • Hey bagheera me and my wife were at the show Thursday night. We had seats about 20 rows back on the right side. Awesome show that brought back alot of good memories :)

  • oops Tuesday..its been a long week..lol

  • we were there too---truely AWESOME----I'd forgotten how wonderful all that era was and still rockin' on!!!!!

  • He was also great with Paul Mc Cartney. That was an awsome band.

  • @melito9791 that thas best McCartney line up (1988-1998)- with Hamish and Robbie

  • So how can Hamish get up on stage with AWB on the screen. He quit AWB 20 years ago! Fine if he wants to sing his old songs, but to use the AWB logo is a rip-off to the existing band. I wish he'd join back up with Onnie and Alan and play with AWB.

  • go matt on the trumpet!!

  • Bass player has no groove...too busy and out of tune. Hamish's part was unbeatable. Ferrone is magic.

  • I named my son after Hamish. I don't think he's suitably impressed by it all. Maybe when he grows up.

  • I know a couple that named thier son Bon Scott....he's all grown up now...wonder if he's and AC-DC fan or just another kid who thinks his parents were stupid for picking the name? LOL

  • Great musician and a great guy. Met him a couple times. Would love a Hamis AWB reunion!

  • Btw i dont think he has a beard anymore....

  • Wooo i knew he had a pub!!

  • That's not true about paul McCartney at all, and I really wish people would stop spreading lies about him. Paul and Hamish are good friends, they even wrote some songs together!!

  • Great video , great band and fab Hamish, there again I'm biased. If you're looking in at all Hamish, hi from your wee cousin Irene

  • Wow!Wow!Wow!Hamish still sounding fantastic,as always.Hi,Irene i'm Molly Duncans sister, did we ever meet backstage at any AWB concerts?(Mind you,i was a shy teenager back then)I agree,Hamish really suits his beard and is still looking very handsome!Take care.

  • Hi there, I don't think so, I left glasgow when I was 16 to go and live in Guernsey but I used to dog off school and go and see them up the electric gardens in Sauchihall Street and a couple of times I slipped out at night,I wasn't shy, the original rebel I'm afaid. Hamish was looking great last time I saw him do you know David at all his younger brother? Makes me feel old he's a grandad now and Hamish has a pub.

  • Hi again,it's really lovely to speak to you,Hamish has the most wonderful voice(the very best in my view)i just love listening to him sing.I lived in America with Molly, for about six months when i was fifteen, so i saw all the guys in the band a lot.I even got to go into the studios when they were recording the 'soul searching'album.I have some very precious photos of my mum dancing with Hamish in Mollys kitchen and as she is no longer with us they mean great deal to me.

  • Oh that is so lovely,he's a really lovely guy who's never changed his nature. His mum and dad went out a couple of times to LA , also his brother David ,you must be a good bit younger than me. I'm 53. When Hamish started off in Glasgow he was in a band called The Dream Police, then he went to London but it wasn't really till they went to the states that they got so popular. We had two unmarried aunts and they used to have Hamish and David and myself and my sister Margaret up for week-ends.

  • WE were told they wanted us as they had no kids but as we got older we realised that it as much because out parents were out having fun and wanted rid of us.lol . His mum used to be on the television in a show and was and still is a wonderful singer and a marvellous dancer. He has such a lovely family, I also played piano and cello and there was always music in out family.

  • Hi Ya Sparky! You are right Hamish is the Bomb! That's an unusual look for him but I agree now he looks great as an Older gentleman. I cant wait for Ringo's allstar band to get here! The only thing I'm having a problem with this is NOT AWB!

  • Hi Ya back! When i saw your messege it really made me lol!I love being called Sparky!it's so cute!He does look good doesn't he.I know what you mean,it's so sad it's not original AWB.I've missed hearing from you the last couple of days .I'm really jealous that you'll see the allstar band boo!hoo!I don't think they will come to Scotland!

  • That is a shame! Oh course I've never been to Scotland either! That happens to be my middle name Scott! :-) I love that video for Put it where you want it where Hamish has a very big Afro! Yes It's always nice talking to you Sparky

  • Hi,will i just call you Scott then,it's a very good name.I love that video aswell,i can still remember how excited we were watching it on television at the time!I've been feeling very sparky all day!I can't think why! lol.

  • Man, what a blue-eyed, soulful combination Hamish had with Alan Gorrie and the rest of Average White Band. They were and always will be my favorite groups ever. Go over to AWB's video's for further funkification, my dear brutha's n sista's.....

  • hamish stewart is bad-bad-bad-bad-bad-the most soulful brothers i know

  • paul mccartney no longer talks to hamish anymore. did you know that he will be in ringos next all star band? paul does not have any contact with any of his former bandmates besides obviously ringo but paul is pretty arogant so that doesnt suprise me

  • Who the f*** is Paul McWhat u said??

  • top top top guy love the bass

  • I used to know him when I was a kid! What a legend!

  • I knew him when I was a kid as well, VERY WELL he's my big cousin and I'm so proud of him. His brother David is also an acomplished musician as are his nephews.

  • HAMISH......say no more...

  • The legendary Hamish Stuart - former lead singer, guitarist und bassist of AWB. Dear! He has a full beard now...Time passes fast. To me, he still is the greatest guitarist ever!

  • He suits his beard,I can remember when he first started out. His mother used to dance and sing with Andy Stuart and the white Heather Band , long time ago, he's my cousin and one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.Fame hasn't changed him one bit.

  • Hamish is one of my all-time favorites. Caught him with AWB in Westport, Ct. in the late seventies and with Paul McCartney's Flowers in the dirt tour. What a great musician.

  • NOT the Westport Bar?? Along side St Andrews and the Woolen Mill??

  • The Westport Tavern!!

  • Does anybody know who the other players are. The bass player and the drummer are layin' it down. Love the low "B" string on the bass!!!

  • Sam Kelly- Drums, "Spy" - Bass, TJ Johnson - Guitar, Matt Winch - Trumpet, Tim Herniman - Sax, Paul Jobson - Keyboards, Alison Evelyn & Flow Harrisson - BV's. Sam, TJ, Spy & Paul play together in a band called Station House (sam-kellyDOTcom) which tours up and down the UK and sometimes Europe. Worth seeing!

  • Thank you Dave for the info. I checked out the website and ordered their new album. I'm a professional freelance trombone player in southern California, mostly in the classical scene. Making it out to the UK is a little difficult, but rest assured I'd be at every one of their gigs!!

  • Hamish is big...

  • Saw them last night at the Anvil. All the acts were really enjoyable :)

  • Excellent clip. I was at this concert. Excellent gig. Great to see 'real' musicians on stage playing. Performance by Cymande was also excellent.

  • Unfortunate camera angle at the start - I'm guessing Hamish thought "feck the dots, let's jam it..."

  • Good show Al.
