  • You're from England, your accent suggests. Your English is cool. I love your Arabic tutorials. Arabic is such a great language; and when I think it was spoken by the Messenger Muhammad (S.A.W.)....

  • I need to stop watching these before I go to sleep, they give me weird dreams. FOR EXAMPLE!

Saqib: "How would you form a word with these letters?"

    Me: "I don't, it's sleepy time now."

Saqib: "That's right! Good job Kyoku! The alif doesn't connect to a following letter!"

Me: "Um, thanks? How'd you get in my room anyways?"

Saqib: *Holds up a flash card with a hamzah on it and grins.*

According to my friend, I sit up and say, "I must unlock the power of the hamzah..." then I fall back asleep.

  • I guess the moral of that story is: You're a great teacher but stay out of my head! Also, promise me you will wield your hamzah with honor! For the good of all mankind! Don't bother saying it, I already know I'm weird. XD Thanks for the lessons and giving me something to giggle about when I wake up this morning.

  • omg guys watch this guy he's a perfect tutor i didn't get it at first but then i kept watching his videos and then bamm! i know the 3 vowels and dammah fattah kasrah shadda and i can now read arabic pronounce it but i dont know what the word is but who cares everyone thumbs up to this if you like this comment :{))))))))))))))

  • I'm playing $1500 to learn arabic and I am three weeks in...You have taught me more in less than an hour! Great job!

  • i truly feel that you did a great job with teaching arabic so effectively. .. However in your entire course i just find one flaw. You started off amazingly however the most important part being the learning of the grammer which is from lesson 3 onwards. I truly feel you just went too fast. Now, by doing so it leaves the student pretty mixed up.. you should have gone a bit more slow, as in explain more details for each thing so that it sinks in better and more importantly makes sense..Thanks

  • - usually , people say it takes a long time for new reverts to learn arabic , but i came across your videos two days ago , and i now know the whole alphabet and i can slowly read and write , but not fully there yet , inshaallah , maebe after watching the rest of your clips , i'll be able to know more , thanks brother

    jazakallah khayran . !

  • Man these videos are wonderful for learning to read and write Arabic! It's such a beautiful language. And your English is incredibly good! Are you a native speaker? From England, perhaps? You sound like you have a bit of an English accent.

  • @plejeune1 I am indeed from England - born and bred! Glad you like the videos!

  • Jazakal'Allah brother.

Peace be upon u and your Family

  • in the first one you did...do you pronounce the laam?

    like ayn l-min?

thank you so much jaza kallah, have a blessed Ramadan.

  • @MonaRocks09 Not sure I fully understand the question - do you mean: should one pronounce the laam in the word " `ilmin " (I'm using the character ` to represent the ayn)? If so, then yes, one would indeed pronounce the laam.

And I pray you have a blessed Ramadan too.

  • I am Irish...and a native Irish speaker...i thought that some of the sounds of this language sounded alot like Irish. I have to say the way this language is spoken and written is absolutely beautiful!!

  • السلام عليكم

عمل رائع واصل من فضلك..جزاك الله خيرا عنا

  • So, if there is ever a noon at the end of the word, it will always been written as a tanwin?

  • @TurtleHuggles

no, but when there is tanween it will give a "noon" sound

  • @TurtleHuggles

    no

for example the word Quran, there is a "noon" at the end, but there could also be tanween on the "noon" itself.

  • جزاك الله خيرا والله يا اخي وجعل الله ذلك في ميزان حسناتك يوم القسيامة

  • You make my understanding of arabic much easier. Thanks

  • I've now mastered the arabic alphabet but still very rusty at reading arabic text.. Your videos are very helpful.. thanks!

  • i agree with N1maNayrizi Arabic-Studio is the best onine arabic learning tool.

  • Thanks : )

  • The only Arabic books I've found with volumes is the Holy Qur'an and some of the Hadiths, I was in Dubai recently and went to alot of bookstores and looked at Muslim literature. I also have a book by Imam Ali in our bookshelf with vowels so I could practice reading that. Arabic-Studio is perhaps the best online Arabic learning tool I've found

    Thanks so much

  • Thanks for your comments! Please do give me any other feedback you have about the website.

I presume the book by Imam Ali is Nahj al-Balaghah? There's a great edition with extensive commentary by Sh Muhammad Abduh, which focuses on the linguistic intricacies of the text. Once you've done enough Arabic grammar, I'd highly recommend getting it.
