I really don't understand why most covers of this song sing it SOOO slowly. It doesn't work, it's a song about a constant stream of thoughts in your mind that won't shut up, it's supposed to be manic, not relaxing. Listen to the original version.

That's because Thomas Crown isn't the original version. The song is composed by Michel Legrand and is originaly called Les moulins de mon coeur. Sharleen's version is closer to the original, which is mellow, slow and easy in tone.

I love this version - although Michels version is the best! Brilliant didn't Sharleen (who really is such a rocker) could do smouldering!
