  • saito makes it with more stile

  • Wish I had enough room to practice Iaido in my flat.

  • what the fuck am I watching?

  • the kenjutsu looks strange, but there is something deep behind the technikes. the against iaido part is cool.

  • its loke like a flexyken than a bokken @_@

  • Ah never mind I didnt see the chick in white .

  • I dont think thats a girl....Seems more like a young male ..... yah there both guys.

  • that looks like a heavy bokken

  • the girl is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • The kind of girl every guy should want.

  • that's for sure^^

  • this looks really funny... i dont mean disrespect but this looks like normal training... even i wouldnt call it training someone should realize that only shouting without the actual "killing" intent isnt good for your spirit... in my personal experience (which is little) I find my self doing the same thing... its not about the shouting its about the spirit... this looks funny...

  • @KoRNeRd This is normal kata yes. YES this is training. Shouting shows your spirit which is known as Kiai. Every sword art has this when it comes to kata. You cannot kill these days and back then this is what they did when they trained. Yes its all about the shouting. without it your not showing spirit. Dont go knocking a sword art when you dont have any exp.

  • The 3:00 to 4:10 was best part! I only hope this is woman, not Okita Souji :P

    Best wishes!

  • I dont know everything, as if I did, I would be in japan right now, I appologize for my actions, alttle stressed here but yeah they did use Suburito's as it was needed for the school but there was also bokkens, from my readings and study. Plus if you train with it first with no prior training, you could hurt yourself...pull muscles and or tear them. Thats what I meant...so please forgive me.

  • That reminds me of the Shinsengumi...

  • @ahszi Yes, not disappear!

  • Wrong, this is to help out with there forms. You have no idea what takes to actually be able to fight like a samurai. This is part of any samurai's training Every day. Besides, this technique isnt used by samurai's, they were used by the Shinsengumi (Shoguns last hope for the feudal japan)

  • Agreed i've seen real samurai's train and fight and the practice is very rigorous especially since they had weighted Bokken to help with speed and balance.

  • You have not see real samurai's train because there is no more samurai's. Youve seen swordsmen train. It is hard, physical and mental challenging. The suburito is to help build strength and make your sword art faster. DO NOT TRAIN WITH THIS YOUR FIRST TIME. You will hurt yourself....Trust me.

  • o trust me I knw, lol I hurt myself pretty bad the first time I tried after picking up the equipment, back when I was a crap load weaker than I am now, ((picked it up and lifted it over my head and down came the suburito, I was 9))

  • why not train with it your first time? In the old days someone would have been expected to practice with it the very first day.

  • wrong, they are expected to train with a Bokken. Why must everyone say something they have no clue on? They start out as a kid, by the time they are about 16 they can use a Katana. Not all the time at the age of 16 but for the most part.

  • And I suppose you know everything? Tennen Rishin Ryuu is not a normal style... They used the suburito from the very start during individual kata. That is because Tennen Rishin Ryuu is a school that stresses being prepared for actual combat. That is, to get to the point you could use a real sword as quickly as possible...in addition to having more practical techniques. The suburito training was something students at the Shieikan were notorious for...

  • as you notice I wasnt talking about swordsmanship in general with my first comment...I was referring to Tennen Rishin Ryuu...ya know...what's in the actual video.

  • I guess that it is the Style of Shinsengumi Guard, the school of master Kondo Isami the commander of the Shogun s last samurai corps.

    Nice,simple and efficient !

  • Yyyyyyyooooooo tttoooooooo

  • i can't help falling in love with any woman i see in kendo and kenjutsu - -

  • Are there any sparrings in kenjutsu ? This is just some sort of technique practice I suppose

  • It depends on which school of kenjutsu. Kenjutsu is just basically just a generic name for "swordsmanship". And just like in the west there are many individual schools each with their own way of training. I do not know if Rishin Ryu has sparring, but I'm fairly sure there are none in the above clip.

  • There is sparring but its not really a common thing in Rishin Ryu.

  • no with kenjutsu its just techniques and focus soley on forms and using a bokken in sparring match would have a deadly result of injury or death. The shinai was specifically designed for sparring with the bogu so that the practioncer is allow to hit the other opponent with a full strike. When practicing kenjutsu its best that you take off the bogu and do the techniques.

  • Those are some heavy looking boken...

  • those aren't bokken they're suburaito. they are thicker and much heavier.

  • Actually they are bokutos, not suburitos. Special heavy bokutos are used in this school for training.

  • They definitely seem to be Suburitou, but aren't suburito used for practicing one's strike, and not for contact? I might be wrong, but that's what I always figured at any rate.

  • Wow. I wish I could learn kenjutsu and kendo.

  • i can help you with that just send me a comment^_^

  • the first part seems very slow and static (but I'm sure there's a good reason for that)

the second part reminds me of suwari-waza excercises in aikido)

and the third is awesome as a kata

  • Wo~~~~o~~~~~~o~~

    Nice!

  • Nice the Shinsengumi style!!!!!!
