I love his singing voice. I watched Alias for years and I'd heard about his stage career and such but didn't hear him sing until I caught "Annie" on TV once. I thought he was going to be one of those slightly better than average singers who could just carry a tune (kind of like JLo, or something). I was shocked that his voice was so beautiful.

Oh, my... he IS awesome! I had no idea! Got to know him as Jack Bristow in Alias, and his playing I found so very intense and genius, didn't know he could be so funny as well and that he's such a very special singer. What a beautiful tembre in his voice - makes me really jealous!

Actually, VG was a member of The Sugar Shoppe which released an album on Capitol around '68 and later did Laura Nyro's "Save the Country" as a single on Epic. Great harmonies- crystal clear. TOo bad the bad never had a hit. Don't know if the LP was released on CD or not.

I think I remember Victor saying that The Mamas and the Papas came along and kind of swept Sugar Shoppe off the map. I think alot of it had to do with timing. I guess it just wasn't there for Victor.

I'm a huge fan of "Sweeney Todd" and "Assassins"...so everyone should go buy those CDs now. But V.G. also sings a beautiful song called "No One is Alone" on the CD "Unexpected Dreams." (Other singers on the CD include Jennifer Garner, Jeremy Irons, Scarlett Johansson and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.) It's worth checking out.
