I remember this show, I stayed up late back in the summer of 1982 to watch it. Nothing else like it at the time. Was this the guy that always asked the musicians "what is the meaning of life?"
T he spiel was written by David Jove........not Peter. Read up on Jove, who was sinister, creepy, psychotic.......He directed the show and they filmed it at Jove's house on fairfax in LA while Jove was hiding from the Feds.
Seeing this video a few months back turned me onto Peter Ivers. I bought and read the recent book on him "In Heaven Everything Is Fine" By Josh Frank with Charlie Buckholtz.
Yeah I'm just about to finish that book it says that there is going to be a documentery to come out with the paperback (which I have) but I cant find anything about it on the web. I think it would be great to see, Peter Ivers seemed to have live a real intresting life and made his make with some important people in the early 80s
Does anyone have the transcript of what he is saying here, some of it I can't quite make out,
like it sounds in the beginning he is saying "It's a barnyard in course that Ginkels recognize" or is he saying "import" then in the middle it sounds like he is saying "Our techno Ben Arthur Godfrey said there's no room for transfusions" is that right? always liked hearing him talk, but couldn't always get what he was saying....Thanks
Thank you, Yes this message is just as relevant today as it was then, sometimes I wonder if Peter wasn't killed because he could see what others could not. Sad...
How about "Goodnight L.A."? That local show from the late 70s or early 80s featured tons of amazing (and now seemingly forgotten) punk and art-punk vidz. Somebody find this stuff please!!!
On October 11, 2007, television producer Stuart S. Shapiro announced that he had acquired the Night Flight library, copyrights and trademarks, and that he is preparing for a relaunch of the show both on line and on television.
"After seeing Nancy at the nightclub I just wanted to kill her..Then they pulled me off of his back, his face looked like a cracker jack, I'll never get Nancy back!" I would like to see the clip where the saxy girls in lingerie are singing "Shooby dooby do f**k you... I don't care about you shooby dooby doo f you". I was lucky to get a new reduced best of New wave theatre vhs for a buck or two at a record store(sealed!)

In an ideal world being on television would be the exclusive domain of people who are this cool.

Fraid no improv involved. He and Jove wrote these out precisely beforehand.

No doubt Disinfo. You'd think the sunglasses would tip off most people that cue cards are in use.

Please check the information column to the right of the video player. I have posted a transcript of what Peter Ivers is saying.
Thanks for asking. I was glad to do it. I think that this is still a very important message for our time as well.

Did they ever find his killer(s)?
mhirtes12 4 years ago
If you are referring to Peter, no they did not.
David Jove was not murdered - he died of cancer.
