To understand it's interesting to read an article of the New York Times of the 20th of May 1945 ("Hidden factories uncovered"): it indicated 6 million jews had been found alive and liberated from hidden factories where they were used as slave workers. Until August 1945, no mention of a holocaust or of gas chambers in any newspaper of the western press. But after the bombings of Japan, those 6 milion liberated workers became 6 million deads in newspapers...

Auschwitz-Birkenau is very isolated, ideal for what the nazi system had in mind for jews, homosexuals, disabled etc. there were no witnesses apart from the few inmates that broke out of the place and the few that managed to evade capture. word was sent to britain about the atrocities that were being commited in both camps but nothing was done about it even though they had ariel photos of the camp & crematoria's..!! typical britain.

Auschwitz was not an isolated place at all. There were villages, cultivated fields, factories & roads at a few hundreds of meters only from the alleged "gas chambers"

You'll have to factor in maintenance on those crematorium ovens, the coke that was needed to burn the bodies, the removal of of the ashes and proper cleaning of the ovens before putting in another body, etc. It just doesn't work mathematically. To understand it's interesting to read an article of the New York Times of the 20th of May 1945 ("Hidden factories uncovered"): it indicated 6 million jews had been found alive and liberated from hidden factories where they were used as slave workers. Until August 1945, no mention of a holocaust or of gas chambers in any newspaper of the western press. But after the bombings of Japan, those 6 milion liberated workers became 6 million deads in newspapers...

Auschwitz-Birkenau is very isolated, ideal for what the nazi system had in mind for jews, homosexuals, disabled etc. there were no witnesses apart from the few inmates that broke out of the place and the few that managed to evade capture. word was sent to britain about the atrocities that were being commited in both camps but nothing was done about it even though they had ariel photos of the camp & crematoria's..!! typical britain.

@bensooty1 I didn't say nobody died. There was a war. Some people died everywhere and especially in Europe. Many jews also decided not to come back where they were from and moved to different places: other European countries, Russia, North America, Australia..;and Israël. Who colonized this new land according to you? Ghosts? ;-)
Auschwitz was not an isolated place at all. There were villages, cultivated fields, factories & roads at a few hundreds of meters only from the alleged "gas chambers"

@kazan188 Oswiecim became isolated when the SS decided it was the appropriate location for mass murder.. at that time, all the inhabitants were given just a short period of time to get their belongings together and move out of the area making it totally isolated.. the problem was that even though nobody was allowed to live in the vicinity of the camps especially Birkenau, the smell of the burning bodies carried for great distances which aroused suspicion...

@bensooty1 The allegations of the escaped prisoners about Auschwitz have been investigated by the Allies (august 44). A letter from John McCloy, the U.S. Assistant War Secretary, says that a study was done about whether it was necessary to bomb Birkenau. A letter by Chief Air Marshall Norman Bottomley asks that a study be quickly conducted about whether it was necessary to bomb Birkenau. Those studies have dispappeared but Auschwitz wasn't bombed, contrary to the Monowitz camp bombed 4 times.

@bensooty1 Again extravagant story just good for Hollywood. Has Spielberg already the agreements for this story? ;-) I have particularly liked the story of the black market of dead bodies that was later disposed along the road... hahaha
"The horrific condition of Auschwitz" Was he able to see the swimming pool, the library and the theater of Auschwitz from Monowitz? :-)
