Actually, Dark Passion Play was written starting in Autumn of '06 and finished in Spring of '07. Anette (or so I've read) wasn't chosen as the next vocalist until '07. It seems very unlikely that Tuomas would change his entire musical signature to suit someone else. That would be exactly the opposite of what an artist would do. You don't write for others, you write for yourself.
