My 73YO Dad is convinced he was on the NASA space missions during the 60s/70s, telling everybody who cares to listen about his amazing experiences “flying all the way to the moon”.
Unfortunately last year a local teacher believed him & brought him into school to talk to the kids. Only after c.15mins did she realise Dad was spouting rubbish- the kids had begun to laugh when he started shouting about “dancing with lovely moon angels”. When parents found out some demanded he be prosecuted!

The expectation of having a blast crater under the LM is flawed. The DC-X was a test flight program of a vertical takeoff and landing rocket. On one of its last flights, it made an emergency landing outside of the pad area. Despite the hydrogen/oxygen engine producing a thrust of some 60,000 pounds (about 20 times the thrust of the LM descent engine!), the engine produced a mark on the desert floor that was barely recognizable.

@chuck3377 Now what you might not realize is a mirror for future laser experiments was left at each moon landing site. Using such a mirror (left at all the Apollo landing sites) you can use a laser bounce to accurately measure the distance from the earth to the moon. Is that proof enough?

The NASA footage, arguably the most important record ever archived, has been lost. I do not think it can be found with even the strongest laser pointer. The footage tells on itself. Very easy to verify, just have to use a powverful ground camera, telescope, or sattiliite, to zoom in on the flag and equip left behind. REAL EASY to verify, I can go on google and see my house from outer space, dont tell me we dont have technololy to zoom in on where the flag is suppose to be. @chuck337 From the Earth you would need a telescope with an aperture miles wide to see the flag. The highest resolution images from Google are taken from airplanes. There are lunar satellite pictures of the landing sites. The moon is only about half a degree wide from Earth.

@monimstarfox That is not true. How did the permanent camera reticle wind up BEHIND some of the objects in the photos like the lunar rover. The senior production manager of Hasselblad could not even explain that one! He was the top person involved in actually creating the Hasselblad camera that went to the moon.
Not only that, but the camera is not special and has no protection from Ultraviolet radiation or any other kind of radiation. Photos taken near Chernobyl were totally foggy!
Cosmic radiation is mostly particle radiation such as high energy protons and electorns, and is not that energetic in lunar space. The best shield against particle radiation is light metals such as aluminium, or plastics. The camera box was made of light metal, and as such provided a nice shield against particle radiation. Electromagnetic radiation in space, such as X-rays, is not terribly intense.
Chernobyl was an intense radiation area were nuclear reactor blew up unlike the moon which is not radioactively intensive and has an atmosphere which keeps out some of the cosmic radiation
The film was also kept in metal containers to prevent fogging up of the films emulsions In addition, film carried by unmanned lunar probes such as the Lunar Orbiter and Luna 3 (which used on-board film development processes) was not fogged up.
@monimstarfox Yes, that might be true, but the film had absolutely no protection when it was in the camera. Hasselblad admits this; The cameras were not designed to resist any radiation...it was just a basic camera as far as not being lined with lead or other adequate protection.
Hasselblad explains this. Yes, these Hasselblad cameras are some of the best in the world, but they are not built to resist any type of radiation whatsoever.

The benefit of having a computer and an internet is not just merely the hardware that is sitting in front of you. The real benefit is the fact that all people of the entire world can now communicate instantly. @infrasleep -- The "bona fide guru" phrase usually comes specifically from the Hare Krisna sect. They believe that their guru was one of a line of gurus descended straight from Krishna and Arjuna. They have some fairly good commentary on the Vedas and especially on the Bhagavad Gita but, as you can see, they are just a bit on the exclusionist side. They're also a bit superficial in their interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita, too, but it's a decent intro for those who are unfamiliar.

The expectation of having a blast crater under the LM is flawed. The DC-X was a test flight program of a vertical takeoff and landing rocket. On one of its last flights, it made an emergency landing outside of the pad area. Despite the hydrogen/oxygen engine producing a thrust of some 60,000 pounds (about 20 times the thrust of the LM descent engine!), the engine produced a mark on the desert floor that was barely recognizable.

The Russians tracked every mission we sent. Surely they would have come forward by now if this had been faked. Have you seen 3D maps extrapolated from topographic imagery of the moon's surface? They match up exactly with the pictures the astronauts took. The United States sent several missions to the moon in the 1960's and 1970's. It is a fact and not a hoax. The NASA footage, arguably the most important record ever archived, has been lost. I do not think it can be found with even the strongest laser pointer. The footage tells on itself. @monimstarfox That is not true. How did the permanent camera reticle wind up BEHIND some of the objects in the photos like the lunar rover. The senior production manager of Hasselblad could not even explain that one! He was the top person involved in actually creating the Hasselblad camera that went to the moon.
Not only that, but the camera is not special and has no protection from Ultraviolet radiation or any other kind of radiation. Photos taken near Chernobyl were totally foggy!

Cosmic radiation is mostly particle radiation such as high energy protons and electorns, and is not that energetic in lunar space. The best shield against particle radiation is light metals such as aluminium, or plastics. The camera box was made of light metal, and as such provided a nice shield against particle radiation. Electromagnetic radiation in space, such as X-rays, is not terribly intense.

Chernobyl was an intense radiation area were nuclear reactor blew up unlike the moon which is not radioactively intensive and has an atmosphere which keeps out some of the cosmic radiation

@monimstarfox Yes, that might be true, but the film had absolutely no protection when it was in the camera. Hasselblad admits this; The cameras were not designed to resist any radiation...it was just a basic camera as far as not being lined with lead or other adequate protection.
Hasselblad explains this. Yes, these Hasselblad cameras are some of the best in the world, but they are not built to resist any type of radiation whatsoever.
The same can be said about the spacesuits.

The russians sent their luna 3 with cameras has well and took pictures but none of them were fogged up. The reason hasselblad cameras were picked was because they are rugged and durable They may not have been specifically designed to stop radiation but the aluminum shell was enough to keep out the surface rad

radiation is just atoms releasing pieces of it self it can be stopped by anything in sufficient amounts. you dont need lead to stop all forms of radiation The radiation on the moon which was primarily high energy protons and electrons was not enough to penetrate the aluminum shell of the camera. Comparing the lunar surface to the nuclear explosion site of Chernobyl is foolish

@monimstarfox No its not, There is more radiation in outer space then there was at Chernobyl! Outer space is a very hostile environment and is full of gamma radiation-- that is much much worse than anything found on the surface even in a fallout area. Aluminum does not stop radiation!

The benefit of having a computer and an internet is not just merely the hardware that is sitting in front of you. The real benefit is the fact that all people of the entire world can now communicate instantly. It will take time but this will promote a greater understanding among the people of the world than could possibly have happened without such communication.

And I never said that someone would fully understand the Vedas by going to the moon. What I said was that seeing the universe from that perspective would help to awaken them. Awakening is a long-term deal if you are talking about the whole of mankind. Most people don't even know what the Vedas are. They need to be prepared for generations of leaps of consciousness.

@infrasleep -- The "bona fide guru" phrase usually comes specifically from the Hare Krisna sect. They believe that their guru was one of a line of gurus descended straight from Krishna and Arjuna. They have some fairly good commentary on the Vedas and especially on the Bhagavad Gita but, as you can see, they are just a bit on the exclusionist side. They're also a bit superficial in their interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita, too, but it's a decent intro for those who are unfamiliar.

We chant some of Krsnas names, but we are not that strange group of people you see in public distributing books and cheating people out of their money. That is an organized religion. What we do is not religion but more like mysticism and spirituality. Actually, the guru of the original Krsna movement was poisoned to death by judas disciples in 77. His name is Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhuad, and is a great saint.

@BranIL28 Ask yourself this, Why can't the shuttle astronauts, with a much thicker hull than the sheet metal on the Apollo space craft, travel more than 300 miles above the earth before experiencing dangerous levels of radiation that prevents them from increasing the height of their orbit? Why is the motion of the astronauts on the moon in slow motion when there is no atmosphere or pressure to slow down their actions? Did you know that during the landing there was no live TV coverage of the LEM?
