  • you got this idea from mattthiaswandel and bought the plans didnt you? i love urs and his channel!!!!!

  • Alex...you do some amazing projects for a lad of your age. I'm always impressed with the quality of your woodworking. Your parents should be very proud of their "creative son". Looking forward to your future vids, keep 'em coming. Don't let school distract you from your projects ;^)

  • did you get the bandsaw designs from matthias Wandel. he has one that looks very similiar

  • @phill360x

    Thats right.

  • @TeenWoodworker you should probably mention that in the video or at least in the description

  • Log splitting is better and faster with an axe :-) Thanks for the video.

  • hi alex cool bandsaw but what store bought bandsaw did you use to make this as i saw one in the vid would be great i you could tell me thx

  • @chaddythewoodpecker

It was a 56" length blade Titan bandsaw, very cheap and pretty awful.

  • is that the bandsaw that Matthias Wandel designed? I was thinking about building that, but ama bit scared, due to de difficulty level.

  • Great instruction on how to fold a blade, I use the same technic and I think that it is much safer then the "to hand" technic most shows

  • Very good. I think it's crazy to build one when they're so cheap to buy :-), but it's still well made and does the job.

  • That is going to shake itself apart.

  • @dh5830

It is shaking due to a unstable base. If you watch the second part to this video you will see that the saw opperates just fine.

  • Of course it is unstable because of the tremor. but the tremor of the lightweight materials used, the associated causes rotational movement.

In my first 500mm-diameter wheels with metal U-frame, possessed, and yet similarly shaking like this.

I of course I use for industrial purposes and not as a hobby

  • put water cooler hose. nice jod!

  • Buen Trabajo muchacho felicitaciones. Eres un Capo, bien explicado, interesante y didáctico. Zory I don`t speak English very well.

  • easy to machine, hardwood instead of pine wood, Danger, unbalanced, shaking of the structure

  • That looks very well built and sturdy. Nice job.

  • @TeenWoodworker

sorry but i don't understand the last word

  • @Harrie151 I meant to say warantee which is often spelt waranty. Meaning they would either relplace of fix the product if it broke within two years.

    Alex.

  • i thik this machine is really dangerous

  • @Harrie151

I can see where you are coming from, the only differnce in my mind it it dosn't come with a 2 year warentee.

  • Dirty in your work

  • Nice job!

  • This is absolutely fantastic, Alex!

Now, I need to go and watch part two...

  • Very nice job, Alex. I don't think I could have done that.

  • Nice job! Doubly so for someone so young. Fit it with a 1/2 inch wide, 4TPI, hook tooth blade and you'll probably never need any other kind of woodsawing machine for solid wood.

  • @apatientspider

Hey, thanks for the tips and for watching!

    Alex

  • Hey Alex.

Just wondering where did you get your Router Table?

  • @ialamont22312

Can't remember, sorry mate. Although I have had some issue recently with it not staring. Its a little annoying!

    Alex :-)

  • Mattias is a genius, right?

  • @Dmhlcmb

It sure is a great design! He encoperated some great features. I would never have been able to design such a refined bandsaw, it would have been more like his original bandsaw.

  • Absolutely incredible work!

  • Fantastic! Love the mobile base... :)

  • Legend!

I've been thinking of building my own CNC machine! Struggling to source cheap stepper motors though. Where did you get your 'beefy' 1 hp motor?

  • @bedstag

Nice I thought about one of those a while back. Axminster tools

  • You sir are talented :)

  • I'm building it for my doctor at her house. I'm going to take some pics of it and maybe put it on here.

  • I usually don't have plans either. I'm building a 32' bridge to go over a pond and it's all in my head. No prints at all.

  • @MrLeonard55

Wow that sounds cool, usually I have some drawings and roungh dimentions but i tend to go on the fly.

Is that over your pond or someone elses?

  • There is one guy on here that made 1 and is selling blueprints he made. I think it's a 14" bandsaw.

  • @MrLeonard55

This is it! Matthias Wandel's design, it is a great design but looking back it may have been nice working without plans. That is the way I usually do things.

  • Awesome job Alex. If your going to paint it black you should put a lightning bolt on it like the motor has. Maybe you can make some blueprints of it and sell them.

    Leonard

  • @MrLeonard55

Nice idea amount the lightning bolt :p

  • Hey can you do a review of your old Titan Bandsaw?

  • Good job, Alex! Have you decided what color your'e going to paint it?

    Larry

  • @Larenzoid

It is going to be black, not the most exciting colour but it should look really cool!

  • Good job. Get in touch with Ian at tuffsawsdotcodotuk because his blades are superb and well priced. I don't get a kick-back, I'm just a very happy customer.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • Now, i may have missed this but why did you make this? A competition? or just for fun?

  • @TheGamerDude41

Good question, it was origionally to save money ( which I did by about £300) against an equivelent on the market) but in the end just ended up being a personal challenge, which was a lot of fun but almost became a chore towards the end.

    Alex.

  • @TeenWoodworker oh ok

  • Looking good Alex, Will we see your Bandsaw on the Woodgears update when you finish it? Will join the other bandsaws that have been completed :)

  • @guerd87

Hope so, I will be sending Matthias some pictures and the final video soon!

    Have a great day, Alex.

  • can you do a review of the titan bandsaw you have? please ?

  • cool bandsaw, what is the cut depth on it.

  • @HandyAndysWoodwork

I think maximum capacity under the guides is about 10"

  • @HandyAndysWoodwork

cool well done, look great if you put a finish on it.

  • Ive been wanting a bandsaw for ages and i didnt consider making one! This could be a great project.

  • @Wilzaza

It is such a great project, soo rewarding!

Just bear in mind it will take a fair amount of time to build, but its worth it.

    Alex

  • I think i would end up in the looney bin if i had to make that, looks like my idea of a nightmare, you did a decent job on it though, it looks great!

  • Came out very nice, be interesting to see how long the drive wheels last before they need replacing. :)

  • @fireball570

Thanks, did you mean the pullys or the wheels the blade run on. They do have a cover which acts like a tyre so with any luck they should last and if they wear down you can always get some new ones.

    Thanks agian, Alex.

  • @TeenWoodworker The wheels that the blade runs on, hope all goes well and they get a good life out of them.
