@bastaard1970 Sorry about the poor sound quality. but when I started this page..it was designed to sound like "am" radio. Now that I know how to do "direct" recording instead of through a VIDEO camera, I will do much better. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This generation don't know didllly about getting down with the get down! This is a dance floor explosion! When you get done your are higher than the clouds off of music! JAM!
In South Philly I went to a dance (think it was Epiphany) 67-68 with my good friend, Johnny "The Vint" Di Leo who was one of the best dancers in the neighborhood. Johnny "The Vint" was a great up and coming drummer too. It was here that I danced to Hip City Part 2 and made my mark. Everybody asked how I moved my legs and body to the song? Simple_ it's Rhythm -you can't buy it or rent it.! Eddubbs
I believe it could be James Jamerson. Even though the group is Jr Walker & The All Stars, I believe that the house band @ Motown did most of the music. I could be wrong!
Gotta be James Jamerson! No one else could groove like that. Bob Babbitt did his thing on Signed, Sealed and Delivered, but this is the great Jamerson all the way!
poor sound quality ,, but what a great song !!!

IN the Old Atlantic City, at Edgehills club is the first time I heard "Hip City" part one and two.
It was actually the first song I heard when I entered the club. That sound and era are forever linked in my memory.
Those were great times in my life.

It's amazing how powerful music is. As always, I can remember what was going on in my life when I hear some old school stuff. Amazing......

Thanks mate - James Jamerson makes sense. What a great sound/arrangement from those halcyon days.
