  • Good looking AND very talented. Oh yes. <3

  • None of us who are commenting are better or as good as him. I mean REALLY. You are entitled to your opinions, but don't talk down on on him. Just talk up about someone else.

  • WOW

  • I am enjoying the back and forth commentary as much as I am the music. Thank you all.

  • Some of you are such snobs! ~0:-/

  • youtube.com/watch?v=JqCDDRAy8hQ

as perlman says " i know i played every note!!!" but ...

  • its more incredible than itzhak perlman

  • @amateratsu779 - Itzhak Perlman thinks he is indeed talented and wonderfully gifted, but David would never say he was "better than Itzhak Perlman." Mr. Perlman is one of his mentors.

  • One of the reasons why I stopped playing the violin after 10 years. It becomes less about music, and how fast can you play. It gets SUPER old. Not comparing myself to a virtuoso or this particular prodigy. But seriously buy some producing software, bump up the pitch 30-40% and put on a key lock and you get the same affect. Where is the art and beauty!!!! This guy kills some rock songs though, plays them at the right tempo/dynamics.

  • @mmmmcalnan you are SO right! (i stopped playing violin after 11 years) and

when i read things like "better than itzhak perlman" iam really pissed off!

david garrett is a rockish violin player, but not a real classic violinist. he would be better placed in a rock band. seems like thats his interpretation of the music. if that is his style, thats perfectly okay. but he is NOT comparable with itzhak perlman...

  • @charlotteviolin -Baloney!

  • i wish i can press the like button a hundred times!

  • 51 peoples are goblins that have to dance when david start to play his violin ~~

  • I thought that was exemplary!!!!!

    The speed was incredible!!!!

    Well Done David Garett!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KnightLieutenantLu you arent in touch with reality kid. you talk about me being a hypocrite, but hypocrisy is plain and clear in your comment (you saying you do not talk down on him, then stating a 12 year old kid plays it better). once again, you show your naivety. or stupidity. and i know what 12 year old kid youre talking about, and you must no nothing about stringed instruments or music in general. yes, that kid was very good, but he was messy.

  • Verdadeiramente espectacular.......

  • @KnightLieutenantLu first off, who says he doesn't have the technique to pull it off? theres overwhelming evidence that he does, but he just chose to play it how he wanted to in this one video. and my main point is that yes, although they are strict on those kinds of things, but this guy has already proven himself so he can take those liberties. and im amused by your attempt to debase me by assuming my positions on things and thus my supposed hypocrisy. but its quite juvenile actually.

  • @OohhPajjelloo

And now you attempt to belittle my argument because it has proven to be correct. You're a hypocrite and that much is already obvious. you are now getting personal with me once again over someone who does not even care if you catch a bad case of cholera and die shitting your intestines out in a day. I do not talk down on him. merely stating the obvious. a 12 yearold kid who hasn't even obtained a highschool diploma does this better.

  • @KnightLieutenantLu britneys skills/liberties are hardly impressive. this guy, on the other hand is. he is the fastest violin player in the world and has a degree from julliard. unless you can match his credentials and skills, then you can talk down on him.

  • @OohhPajjelloo

why so defensive? you realize I have not said a word in criticism? Also this guy really does not give a crap about you. But my main point being, one does not take those kinds of liberties when playing an actual classical piece. they're rather strict on that in music schools. He did it out of laziness. that much is apparent. He did not have the technique to pull it off. only the speed.

  • @OohhPajjelloo

also, britney is a millionaire, and unless you make more a year than she does, you should not talk down on her. or is it alright to pick and choose? your hypocrisy is far too obvious.

  • @OohhPajjelloo

You've lost some credibility when you said that he's the fastest violin player in the world (hint: don't always believe Guinness blindly). Knight's point is fair: David took this piece too fast than he could handle, it's obvious. But it's no insult to David, just a fair critique.

You don't have to be better than somebody to critique them. Otherwise, why don't we just tell Roger Ebert to shut up until he can make better movies than the ones he criticized?

  • @cckssfreak maybe he liked to play it that way. unlike you, hes an established musician and has a name for himself, so he could take a few liberties.

  • @OohhPajjelloo

So is Britney spears. I doubt that makes her liberties any more impressive.

  • I heard this piece for the first time on a recording by Itzhak Perlman. Now to have a video and be able to SEE as well as hear this ridiculous piece, played by someone as amazing a David Garrett is beyond incredible. It's awe-some!!!

  • I totally agree with OtakuJapanOverdrive!! David is AMAZING and NOTHING CRUSHES THAT!!!!

  • @HereischristNow

Finally, SOME1 WHOS ON MY SIDE!!! YAYZ

  • @OtakuJapanOverdrive I'm on your side too :D

  • @AddictedToMusicGirl

    Thx u now i has a campaign :P

  • You haters should have some violin lessons and tell me if you can do any better than David.

    I DOUBT IT.

  • I dont care wat any of you haters say. Ive heard 4 versions of this: Itzak Perlman, Sarah Chang, Ann Fontenella, and David Garrett. Now, La Ronde Des Lutins is one of my most fav classical songs EVER.

Here's Who i think did it the best (Best to Worst)

    Ann, David, Sarah, Itzak

THAT PROVES IT TO ALL U DAVID/ANN HATERS

  • @OtakuJapanOverdrive Srsly ? :) you know itzakh was his teacher and if you listen carefully you can hear the mistakes David makes and the problems he has with the tempo. Itzakh has no problem with anything of this. The only fault he makes is one single wrong he makes, because he plays the hardest and nearly impossible way to play it. think about it.

  • @root1995

No offense in any way, i assure u, but im not really a fan of itzahk. Besides, This wasn't a concert so it doesnt matter if he makes a couple mistakes and makes it a little faster. (Plus, i dont think he wud wear that shirt on stage)

He's still an awesome violinist; no matter wat his style may be. Also, you don't kno wat his intention was to try this song, AND you dont kno how many times he's practiced this before the vid was taken. This cud be his second time or tenth time playin it.

  • Wetten dass:)

  • Madre de Dios... tocar esto debe ser muy dificil!!

  • OMG!! THAT IS AMAZING!

  • Itzhak Perlman do it better

  • @Erka94 fuck you man,don`t compare itzhak perlman with him....i don`t say is bad...but u can`t compare them

  • @SuperPapagalu Too bad, that's the way the world works. He can NEVER match up to the great masters =.=

  • @SuperPapagalu

Unfortunately, yes u can. I say David does a lot better. im sorry, but i just dont like itzak's versions of songs!

  • @OtakuJapanOverdrive i like david garret`s interpretation ....i just love david`s style...but not at bach...now do u understand??

  • its ok. but before he wants to play that fast he needs to play better. Compare to perlman. perlman isnt that fast at all. but MUCH better.

  • He just needs to practice in order to not miss one note every fucking 5 secs come on guys

  • BRAVO!

He is smiling. Totally cool that guy.

  • BRAVO!

He is smiling. Totally cool that guy.

  • He is a musical God! :O

  • "I'm just gonna walk over here, BYE PIANIST!" lmao

  • OMG this piece totally suits him!!! AWESOME and so much fun to watch!

  • real good, but NOT NEARLY as good as vengerov or perlman

  • @flaquita302 or yehudi menuhin

  • Comment removed

  • He cheated from 0:31 to 0:34. All of the bows were supposed to be spiccatos but he clearly played slurs. Nothing special, even if its super fast. I ain't impressed by this guy.

  • @cckssfreak I totally agree. Same thing goes for Ann Fontella. They struggle on the technical part thus can't express any emotion . Listen to Sarah Chang's version, it is so much better and full of emotions

  • @Fesbian69 HOORAY FOR SARAH CHANG!!! :D

  • @Fesbian69 lets see you do better. I'M WAITING!

  • @edrdavenport78 once again, that's not the question. I'm saying he should stay away of this particular piece as his way of playing clearly doesn't fit. Me being able to do the same or better has nothing to do with it. Now listen to other musicians interpreting this piece and tell me if you still think Garrett is doing a good job

  • @Fesbian69 Yep, he's doing a good job.

  • @cckssfreak until you post a video of yourself doing this and also become one of the best selling classical artists of the modern era..shut up

  • @armolive8 well looks like someone's getting touchy.

  • oh and in case you didn't know, if you're not a musician yourself, you have no right to say anything either, so shut the FUCK up

  • @cckssfreak where is your video?

  • @kingofsalem1225 do I have to put a video to prove myself?! I got a good ear and I know from many times of watching people play. Why not YOU PUT A VIDEO OF YOURSELF, IDIOT =.=

  • @cckssfreak you obviously know very little about violin playing if you can not appreciate this guys skill.

  • @cckssfreak You should be impressed sir, not only is he the guinness world record holder for fast playing violin, he also has a 2 million dollar violin in his hands =)

  • @GwenStefaniGuild

The fastest guitar picker in the world still can't play through the fire and flames. speed has nothing to do with being good at technique.

  • @GwenStefaniGuild

That "world record" is bogus. I've heard faster performances than his "world record," on pieces that are more difficult. Perhaps most people don't know better, and believes that record, but David should have known better. It's pretty obvious that he isn't the fastest, and I'm sure he knows that.

  • @cckssfreak

you're absolutely right, I saw a 12 yearold asian kid play this better. Just search for "goblin violin" and click on the video that says "12 year old violin prodigy!!!!!"

  • fast fingers :o

  • holy....

    This is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he looks like kurt cobain

  • @FrikipauB

He looks better than Kurt Cobain ever did. But I see where you might see a similar 'type'

  • 44 people can't see those goblins who are dancing!! @_@!!

  • KURT COBAIN IS A VIRTUOSO!!!!! xD

  • @CarrisaTeh

Ya can't be a virtuoso when you're dead

  • Comment removed

  • i never think there's a BEST musician in the world, not that it's 1+1=2. it's down to an individual whether he/she likes the music or not. so many haters in this world should get a life. well, i guess haters just can't do something practical and contribute to the society but producing tonnes of smelly gas from mouth :D

to david garrett: you are famous and your fans love your music just as it is without comparison with other people.

  • Man, stop scratching around. Learn how to produce a nice sound david. I'm sick of that non musician.

  • @derwahrepate1 he's playing it as the original piece, just like everyone else...

  • @derwahrepate1 This recording is not very good, but it isn't like David Garrett can't produce nice music to listen to when he wants. I also thought that after listening to his retarded 'record', but when I heard him somewhere else and really listened without knowing who was playing, I had to admit that he could be among the world top of best violinists alive. Not yet at the same level as Perlman or Vengerov, but above others that some find fantastic.

  • @derwahrepate1

I feel that, when I'm listening to him, he's constantly going for the wow-factor. He's slurring everything together to be faster. I get the feeling that he's the kind of violinist that loves attention, knows he's getting attention, and just keeps slurring more and more to be faster to get even more attention. When I want to listen to a piece played good and clear, I definitely don't go for Garrett. :P

  • @derwahrepate1 I TOTALLY AGREE :)

  • Maestro!

  • @Thebigvicful *arm heb*

  • Not very accurate go and look for Shlomo Mintz or Perlman

  • @root1995 Haters gonna hate.

  • @JimmieCrackCreamCorn and what about fanboys?

  • ONLY THE DEVIL CAN PLAY LIKE THIS GUY TOCA COMO DEMONIO

  • omg he makes the octav place totaly clean 1:51

  • This guy knows his instrument extremely well, and he is a great entertainer. He speaks to an audience of millions and that is a great achievement. However, he should stay out of the classical scene cos there is nothing for him there; The audience will not be impressed by his "easy succes" way of playing, and as a musician he doesn't have much to say. He not an interpreter like true musicians are. He only plays for his own vanity.

  • @SuperJozes I AGREE :)

  • You know what is awe some about this dude. Occasionally you'll catch him smirking or just smiling. You can see how much he loves to play. It is refreshing to watch such dedication.

  • don't get that hair stuck in the violin, just kidding. I love it!

  • I played this for a recital a few days ago....then I woke up

  • Una pieza muy alegre sin lugar a dudas! :D

  • Dance of Goblin ( with those bombs and his cuicide )

  • Hm, tehnika izvanredna, ali nema osecanja. Zato, nazalost ovaj, nesumnjivo virtuoz, nikada nece postati ono sto zeli.

U svakom slucaju zelim mu sve najbolje. Neko je ovde pomenuo Vegnerov-a...

Ali poslusajte snimak Yehudi Menuhin plays the dance of the goblins by bazzini!

I cucete sve sto treba da cujete!

Sorry for Serbian language - those who know - will be told:)

  • astonishing!

  • I am IN LOVE with Garrett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you like Pearlman, you MUST see Maksim Vengerov... WHAT A VIRTUOSO!

  • Is Bazzini more difficult than Paganini?

  • @NONAROSSA depends on which piece you want to compare and what is difficult for you

  • this guy is FABULOUS! Although he does sound a little too modern for my taste but I still LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

  • David is definitely my favourite violinist. He is superb and plays with such enjoyment he is a pleasure to watch. He is a man of such passion, vision and courage. A true genius!

  • Odi et amo... Conflitto fra ammirazione ed invidia!

  • THIS IS SHIT

  • @95Madara95 Go listen to your own music.

    Respect other peoples opinions.

    This is fantastic

  • @MrPilchardo/watch?v=pR8ABKpwm7w this is better than garrett

  • @95Madara95 I prefer Garrett's playing style to be honest.

    It's more aggressive and passionate.

But anyway, that is no reason to go around insulting peoples taste in music, just because you think yours is better

  • @MrPilchardo imho garrett thinks " more fast = more beautiful" , perlman has a better sound

  • @95Madara95 I totally agree with you even though I am no expert on the topic, but Perlman has a very sweet sound, this is a bit ... although some parts of it are just as sweet as Pearlman's, around 2:24.

  • @95Madara95 I TOTALLY AGREE :) HIS PLAYING ONLY HAS MONETARY VALUE =.=

  • perlmann anyone?

  • @PLA8thRt what about him? itzhak still rocked this song the best imho if thats what you where asking.

  • @pmbazman15 exactly :P

  • GOSH!! I think that's the easiest song for him !! but for mee.... that's the hardest song. I can't play the fight of bumble bee, even more this one O.o

  • 35 people don´t have ears.

  • @Apocarn13 His interpretation is full of mistakes! He will never match the perfection of Itzhak Perlman.

  • @tumarido555 And so ?

  • @Apocarn13 Its 45 now. They sure are deaf.

  • Its super hard and kool near the end

    lol

  • He plays too fast and, in addition, the acting is poor. The song cannot convey feelings. The music has a tempo and must be followed.

El toca demasiado rápido y, en consecuencia, la interpretación es paupérrima. La canción no transmite ningún tipo de sentimiento. La música tiene un tempo y éste debe ser seguido.

  • @farelus That is you option. I bet your just jealous because you know you couldn't play as good as David.

  • @farelus Must be followed? I you're looking for a follower, David Garrett is not your man. This is a good thing, I think. This version is brash, ballsy, and fabulous live. (It is a shame the sound quality is so poor in this video.)

  • with his sweet shirt and his smile he's so cool!

  • Sorry pal, you'll never be a Francescatti, or a Campoli or a Heifetz or a Grumiaux, etc. etc. etc. for that matter. LOL check the Francescatti video on youtube and see how it's done.

  • @atchicago1 Well, they're all dead, so, you're right..... David is amazing, too, just as so many others were. You can't just everyone to the violinists of yesteryear.

  • hahahaha -- he's way better looking!!

  • We can't complain about the pianist lagging behind..... it's a free video, with a likable rendition of a very, very difficult capriccio, which is a style giving great rhythmic latitude to the soloist. Just to hear Garrett on his fine violin is a sensation! That violin "speaks" perfectly on every note along the fingerboard, any string.. (!)

  • I enjoy Garrett's style and accuracy - he is unquestionably a great violinist in his prime, and with a superb violin instrument. He adds a certain disdain for the stuffiness of the black & white orchestral marketing image, and only fantastic players can get away with it.

In this particular video recording, the pianist is having a hard time keeping up with the pace that Garrett sets, pressing on, everyone for himself style. But that makes for a lack of rhythmic coordination with the pianist...

  • but then again its the pianist in his band so..

  • He may be fast, and an awesome violin player, but he doesn't take the pianist into account for the performance. He's going so fast that the pianist can't even catch up. He might as well not use the pianist at all.

  • @VellamyHarquinn

pianists are supposed to follow the soloist

    not soloist follow pianist

  • @KLE3141 Quite untrue. I'm just saying that although soloists are supposed to be the main attraction, they must still account for accompaniment, because if both parties don't synchronize the music would become messy. If not what's the accompaniment for? You'd might as well be going solo.

  • 33 people are dancing goblins :)

  • He makes it look easy !!!!

  • @lurajames1 yeah...i played this piece on piano and swear...It's absolutely difficult...but his play makes it look easy ^^~

  • @lurajames1 that's beacuse it is easy. i can do it !

No, i cannot !! it is damn impossible this guy is awsome !

  • only the devil can play like this guy !!

  • This guy is a boss !

  • i dont really understand who can say any kind of bad words about that guy if u dont like his music then CANT U FUKING SEE THE WAY HE MOVES HIS HANDS !!!

the fastest violin and the best ever though i prefer listening to samvel yervinian but OMG who can deny that guy's talent!!!

  • What goblins?

  • He missed a bunch of notes. I'd rather hear it played slower and more accurately.

  • I think he is playing the song too fast, I like how Vengerov plays this peace better..

  • I have never thought someone could play violin like this. Speechless...

  • ur amazing.

  • Just too fast...

  • @noobchestnut But in tune though^^

  • crazyy man ...

  • génial! rien à redire! j'adore!

  • I wanna learn to play violin....

  • ERSTAUNLICH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Learn English langauge? Do you think that only those are not stupid who know that language well? World is full of languages and none of them are better than other. English is just one way to make more easy to understand other people and make them understand yourself. There are no matter how bad the grammar is if you still can understand the point of text.

  • @Danatsu who are u talkin to?

  • many women like him because he is handsome but that has nothing to do with his talent for music.

  • Comment removed

  • @plerimest that's right, he's an excellent violinist though

  • @plerimest I would say both in my case...he is REALLY handsome, and has an amazing talent. Though, if he played the violin naked, I WILL NOT COMPLAIN. AT ALL. <3 ~

  • @plerimest nothing do do with talent for music?he s very good, just because he doesn t wear a fucking tuxedo doesn t make him worse

  • Magnificent! **

  • Ainda vou tocar assim! -_*

  • I love this guy. I come from a Southern state where the violin or fiddle is the most played instrument in the South. We know violin and fiddle. This guy has talent. If you people can not see a musician who can play any way or form on an instrument then you need to listen a little harder and study a little more.
