Thx for uploading. Anette is a great and lovely Singer, BUT: If you had a Singer like Tarja in the First, its very difficult to find a Singer that can sing old songs AND new Material. The Fact is: If Anette will sing the old songs like Tarja, she will fail! She CAN`T sing like Tarja, she is not a soprano singer. Most of Bands that lost the original, first Singers were gone, for example Judas Priest. Priest had a great Comeback as Rob Halford returns. Better for Nightwish to begin a NEW Aera.
What happened to Marco? You can hardly hear him! I guess the recording quality isn't that good. I didn't like this version too much. Maybe if you could hear it better! But I love the moment at the end! :D

I think you didn't read all the answers from Marcelo...one of his answers clear states he confronted Tuomas back in 2004 and told him he should forget Tarja, that he had no chance with her. After that meeting, Tuomas and Tarja got more distant to each other - that's probably why he says 'people who don't talk for one year don't belong to the same band." You should read again :)
@gentletuesday and on the subject of Anette, she's not really that bad. granted, certain songs are beyond her caliber (Dark Chest Of Wonders being the best example, IMO), but then there are others that she shines through on (like the song in this Video, for example). plus add on the fact that she actually interacts with the fans during a show is kind of a nice touch as well.

Seriously, Anette is the singer now and has been for years. If you're not a fan of her then leave Nightwish alone. Nightwish fans should be the ones commenting, not non Nightwish fans. It's the simple fact of if you don't like something, ignore it. Anette was chosen and that's the way it is. She can never truly replace Tarja, but she is Nightwish, as is the rest of the band. So just grow up and leave Anette alone.
Tarja or Annette, NIghtwish would have never soared as high without Marco. Century Child was a much more powerful album than Wishmaster even though the latter is better liked by the fans (I think)
The sounds quality on these waken videos is not so great. Jukka sounds like he is playing tin pots, marco sounds like a yelling berzerker (not in the usual good way:P) and emppu sounds like he is playing underwater... But we KNOW they are all amazing.
My point is if you're going to bash Anette base on these videos you might as well bash the rest of the guys... which i dont think is likely from you lot :P

I actually think Annette's voice would suit this song better than Tarja's in the studio *hates self*, it's a shame she doesn't sing well live. I didn't like it when Tarja ditched the full on operatic vocals in Once, although I'm sure it was under Tuomas's orders.

I would totally disagree. Anette's performance of this particular song is really stunning. This song needs powerful voices, and Anette and Marco can do the trick. She is just "in' the song, she lives with it.
I believe that with the departure of the stripe, the whole has completely lost its identity, it's nothing personal against the new singer, she simply does not own voice enough to keep up .....
I just don't understand why, if they were going for a complete change in the vocal department, they brought in a new vocalist at all - if they had just let Marco sing everything, it would have been much better.

They buy their albums (less, I believe), because they HOPE to listen some continuity from the old Nightwish. I didnt listen to Nightwish, or love Tarja for their metal genre. I listened and loved it for its originality, classical mix with heavier music, and overall quality albums and performances. Many of these things have been lost or at least lessened since Anettes joining. That is why i think Nightwish needs to stop their journey to becoming a mainstream metal band and return to their roots.

I think you didn't read all the answers from Marcelo...one of his answers clear states he confronted Tuomas back in 2004 and told him he should forget Tarja, that he had no chance with her. After that meeting, Tuomas and Tarja got more distant to each other - that's probably why he says 'people who don't talk for one year don't belong to the same band." You should read again :)

@gentletuesday and on the subject of Anette, she's not really that bad. granted, certain songs are beyond her caliber (Dark Chest Of Wonders being the best example, IMO), but then there are others that she shines through on (like the song in this Video, for example). plus add on the fact that she actually interacts with the fans during a show is kind of a nice touch as well.

Seriously, Anette is the singer now and has been for years. If you're not a fan of her then leave Nightwish alone. Nightwish fans should be the ones commenting, not non Nightwish fans. It's the simple fact of if you don't like something, ignore it. Anette was chosen and that's the way it is. She can never truly replace Tarja, but she is Nightwish, as is the rest of the band. So just grow up and leave Anette alone.

Tarja or Annette, NIghtwish would have never soared as high without Marco. Century Child was a much more powerful album than Wishmaster even though the latter is better liked by the fans (I think)

The sounds quality on these waken videos is not so great. Jukka sounds like he is playing tin pots, marco sounds like a yelling berzerker (not in the usual good way:P) and emppu sounds like he is playing underwater... But we KNOW they are all amazing.
My point is if you're going to bash Anette base on these videos you might as well bash the rest of the guys... which i dont think is likely from you lot :P

To all the tarja fans out there, tarja was to much a dominant for Nightwish.. so she was kicked.. and they did want to get a new sound.. and not the same "crap" as before.. and everyone has their reasons/likeings, some think Anette is better some dont, Tarja is gone and now its Anette so just pls stop "whineing"..

Just they already good match between band and vocal, but, Tuomas said he dont want that he would make a music like a prison of his great music talent just because fans want Tarja to sing his songs. yes NW is good coz Tuomas is a very awesome composer. He made a lot of beautifull songs.you know.. :) I'm not trying to compare two NW vocalist. Both of them are GREAT. Just several NW old songs SEEMS like made for tarja and some can sing by Anette with her new creation. thats all. And NW prove that NW are something without tarja YES, they are also tarja.. She is still a very talented singer without NW. the different is just SHE is a SINGER not a composer and Tuomas is a COMPOSER not a SINGER.

I just don't understand why, if they were going for a complete change in the vocal department, they brought in a new vocalist at all - if they had just let Marco sing everything, it would have been much better.
Especially considering he sings about as much as, if not more than, Anette in the newer songs.

They buy their albums (less, I believe), because they HOPE to listen some continuity from the old Nightwish. So, many ilude themselves and want to believe Anette is a good singer for the band...it's a matter of sympathy for the band.

It took me 2 years to accept Anette, to get used to her voice, etc. Actually, I didn't listened the whole DDP album till last autumn. Don't try to tell me what to do, please. I have only very recently started listening to NIghtwish, and I prefer Annette singing but all this nonsense about her not singing the older songs is just folk taking through thier arses, the band is Nightwish, you go to a gig to hear material from all thiers albums, not just one or two. they must be the only band ever to get shit for changing their singer, Annette is good at what she does, except it & get on with your lives people, & please no Tarja freaks contact me - Capiche!!!!

I didnt listen to Nightwish, or love Tarja for their metal genre. I listened and loved it for its originality, classical mix with heavier music, and overall quality albums and performances. Many of these things have been lost or at least lessened since Anettes joining. That is why i think Nightwish needs to stop their journey to becoming a mainstream metal band and return to their roots.

We obviously can't expect Anette to sound flawless on songs which were specifically written for Tarja. I bet if Tarja had to sing "Bye Bye Beautiful," she wouldn't sound as good as Anette...
