Most modern V8's = aluminum = light. Besides a 2JZ will not break fastest 1/4 time, nor fastest 6 Cyl 1/4 time. Ever. 2JZ anything can barely make it to the 7's as it is; old school V8's have made it into the 5's. And the 2JZ will never perform optimally trackwise unless it goes in the car it was designed for.

If he wants a universally practical or balanced engine, he should keep the KA or swap an SR. 2JZ's are overrated and you know it.
@0ukami dude supras hold track records in many many drag strips and they are good for circuit racing if you build it up right, super street magazine just picked a supra for their car in a magazine shootout over any other car they coulda had. and no v8's are not more lighter than a six cylinder derp.. and a built up supra can beat a v8 anyday.

@knacken1 Uh, actually cold revving the engine under no load is what you should be concerned about. The only reason you don't immediately cut the ignition on a turbocharged car is once the turbo heats to peak temperature to keep the oil pump circulating oil throughout as it cools so it doesn't sit stagnant and bake, keeping cooler oil circulating during cool-down.
Could be swapped. My 240 has an SR. And then there's the CA18 and about a hundred other engines that can be swapped in. He'll I've seen the 2jz in one

So did the previous owner cut off the cat and then just weld in a test pipe? If so, just have an exhaust shop cut off your old exhaust where the cat would end, and weld on a flange to bolt the new HKS exhaust onto.

as far as ive seen, as long as you are buying the exhaust to be FOR the 240sx, as long as s13 or s14 is specified, you will rarely have to do anything but tighten bolts. most exhaust installs will be a breeze as long as its specific parts.
No, I believe loud exhaust is a secondary offense so I don't give them any reason to pull me over in the first place. I drive a WRX now as well, 240 is long gone. BUT I never got pulled over in it. It is pretty quiet when cruising with the stock cat on.
It isn't just a muffler, it's the full exhaust from the catalytic converter back. All you need to do is unbolt the exhaust at the rear of the cat, pull the exhaust off the hangers and put the new HKS one in its place. There is no welding involved and it utilizes the stock hangers.. Very straight forward.
I can't decide between the HKS Hi POwer exhaust and the Blitz Nur Spec. They both sound great but how is the HKS on the highway? I do a lot of highway travel and I don't want one that's too loud

Well if we have to weld something to install a muffler, than I can't do it by myself.

It isn't just a muffler, it's the full exhaust from the catalytic converter back. All you need to do is unbolt the exhaust at the rear of the cat, pull the exhaust off the hangers and put the new HKS one in its place. There is no welding involved and it utilizes the stock hangers.. Very straight forward.

No welding. Its all bolt on. Just 2 simple bolts and a gasket and connect the hangers so it sits in place

I can't decide between the HKS Hi POwer exhaust and the Blitz Nur Spec. They both sound great but how is the HKS on the highway? I do a lot of highway travel and I don't want one that's too loud
